Kerowyn ripping shit up in combat "As you can tell by my blade and my wit, I am a Swordmaster of Thera.  I am skilled in the art of combat, of course, but I have many other talents.  My tongue is as quick as my blade, and my feet are just as agile.  I have studied history, languages, the fine arts, and a multitude of other subjects.  My dazzling oratory has won over enemies and inspired the devotion of allies -- my dazzling beauty has won lovers and broken hearts across the known lands.    

"My story?  An intreaguing tale to be sure . . . I was born and raised in Great Thera, and attended the War College as befits the daughter of an airship captain.  My father, a battalion commander in the Theran army, was killed on campaign in Barsaive soon after my 30th birthday.  Once I had completed my Swordmaster training, I decided to travel and see the world -- against the wishes of my mother, who would have prefered that I settle down to some sort of 'worthwhile' pursuit.  I wandered, exploring and getting into various sorts of trouble, having a glorious time . . . and avoiding my mother's ever more insistent requests that I find some sort of 'direction'.  Recently, she sent me on a mission (which, because of its delicate nature, I cannot recount the specifics of) to this Passions-foresaken desert in the service of our House. 
My pack-mules were somehow lost along the way, and so, with no more than my sword, a few coppers, and the clothes on my back, I set out on my mission.  Alone in a strange land, I thought it prudent to hire myself a guide, and found a native by the name of Veldara.  With her came several rather odd companions, who also chose to accompany me.  Since then, we have had many strange adventures together, and I have come to realize that I am on a quest much greater than the one on which my mother sent me -- I am here to save these lands and their people from the death and distruction wrought by the Horrors, and to return it to its former fertility.  Protecting the innocent and bringing them into the glory and light of Thera, I am fulfilling my duty as a scion of House Zanjan and a Swordmaster of the Theran Empire -- I will not fail!"

Steel Firefly: Steel Firefly was wielded by a Raurendi or Bakari warrior during the Scourge, after the fall of Bakar.  It was forged with the aid of a famous weaponsmith.  Kerowyn received the sword from Ugrani, the mad manticore, on the occasion of his untimely demise. 
     This large desert sword glows red when fighting Horrors or Horror constructs.  When the wielder performs a battle dance, it tracks down Horrors. 
  • Rank 1 (200): +1 to Steel Firefly's damage step, +3 to Steel Firefly's damage step against Horrors or Horror Constructs
  • Rank 2 (300): +1 to Steel Firefly's damage step.  Steel Firefly sparks yellow when it strikes Horrors or Horror Constructs.
  • Rank 3 (500): Steel Firefly tracks Horrors when its wielder performs a battle dance.
Ka-lil Shut's Rage:  This silver t'skrang ritual dagger was given to Kerowyn by the last living t'skrang in Raurin, the Shivalahala Ka-lil Shut.  It was forged with blood magic.
     Ka-lil Shut's Rage can be used only against the Horror Zha-Mek Tha, also known as She Who Feasts.     

Blood Magic Hair:  Being a fashionable Theran, Kerowyn had herself augmented
with blood magic hair.  The hair has the look and texture of strands of black velvet, and has been used to impress many an object of her affections.
     Kerowyn's hair gives her a bonus of two steps to any charisma test utilizing her beauty.

Dragonbone Shortsword: This beautiful shortsword looks to be of Theran make, but is sculpted entirely out of baby dragon bones.  It was in fact created by Veldara and Gairten, two of Kerowyn's companions, from the bones of a hatchling dragon which had been corrupted by a Horror while still in the egg.
    The blade functions like a normal shortsword, except that it has a damage step of 5 and is more difficult to break than a steel sword.  It also has an increased spell defense.
