The wedding proceeded like any other. The minister and the groom waited up at
the altar. The organist started playing a touching piece on the elegant pipe
organ. First Rhylla and Sevoreria walked down the aisle, her hand in the
bend of his arm. As they neared the altar they split and took their places.
the other bridesmaids and best men did the same. Soon the Organist started
to play "Here Comes the Bride", and the Bride and her father made their way
down the aisle, they neared the altar, the groom helped his bride up on the
stage, and her father sat down next to her mother in the front row.
The minister started the wedding ceremony, all went well, but just as the
bride said "I do", a massive red claw smashed down through the roof, a split
second later a menacing red dragon stuck his head through the roof and roared.
The audience screamed and ran madly in all directions. Sevoreria and Rhylla
ducked behind the pipe-organ.
"Well, it appears that you were right dear, but now what are we going to do?"
Rhylla said ducking under a flying board.
"And I left my stuff in the... Wait, Stay here." Sevoreria said, beginning to
crawl on the floor.
"Sev! where are you..." Rhylla ducked again. "Oh... Be careful dear!" he
yelled.
Sevoreria crawled along the pews, trying not to be spotted by the dragon. It
was completely inside the building now. It was a small dragon, probably a baby
but it was still strong enough to pull up the pews like dead driftwood.
She was at the end of the pews, but still had 20 feet between where she was
and the room where her stuff was. She decided to run for it. The dragon,
noticing her, started to walk toward her. She ran into the room, slammed the
door, and pressed her body against the door.
She quickly looked around the room, spotted her bag in the corner, and ran to
it. She managed to get her weapon and her shield out before the dragon thrusted
it's claw through the wall, trying to grab her. Sevoreria slashed down with her
sword, cutting a gash in the dragon's arm. It reared back, in obvious pain. She
kept slashing at it, forcing it to retreat outside of the chapel wall. She
followed it. As she neared what was left of the wall, a huge claw slashed across her
chest, slicing her up, and throwing her against a pile of uprooted pews, hitting her
head. Wearily, she managed to get up on her feet, but the dragon was faster, and knocked
her into another wall. Sevoreria fell in a heap, the dragon slowly walked towards her.
"STOP!" it was Rhylla, "LEAVE HER ALONE!" he yelled, throwing the organ bench at the
dragon. It turned to face him, fire burning in it's eyes. Slowly it walked towards
him. Sevoreria meanwhile was able to come to her senses and stand to her feet. Without
even thinking she charged toward the dragon, slashing at it's tail, cutting the tip off.
The dragon whipped around, smashing another row of pews with it's tail. It reared on its
hind legs and belched fire at Sevoreria. She was quick and managed to get her shield in
front of her in time, but soon the shield became to hot to handle, and she dropped it.
The dragon peered at her, and started to walk towards her. She gripped her weapon, and in
a flash of flying metal, slashed up and severed the dragon's head from it's body. It's
body lashed about, knocking Sevoreria against the organ in it's death spasm. Sevoreria
felt her consciousness slipping, she could see Rhylla's face over her saying something,
but soon she lost consciousness...
Sevoreria opened her eyes. At first it was all a blur, but it slowly formed to Rhylla,
Casaundra and her new husband huddled over her. Sevoreria moaned and placed a hand on
her forehead.
"Wha... What happened?" she asked wearily.
"You don't remember?" Rhylla asked. Sevoreria slowly shook her head.
"You where the Maid of Honor at my wedding" Casaundra said.
"And killed a red dragon wearing a white dress!" her husband added.
"ooh... I thought that was a dream... ooh..." Sevoreria said, placing her second hand on
her forehead.
"Shh, Relax dear, you were hurt pretty bad, just rest." Rhylla said, removing Sevoreria's
hands from her forehead and placing an icepack in their place.
"Casaundra..." she said sleepily.
"Hmm?"
"The next time you get married I'm wearing the dragonscale!" she said, slipping in to sleep
