Sadistic DMs

"You can't do that!!"

God, how many times have I had to listen such ridiculous statement from clueless players that do not realise that I am, after all, the DM? , the first thing that comes to my mind when somebody says that is teleporting a hungry violent red dragon behind him and fry his character to a crisp. And yet, summoning all my willpower, I show compassion and reply;

"Yes I can, I am the Dungeon Master, I can do whatever I like"

Many players understand the fact then and there and silently agree, but some others (especially newbies) still insist.

"So what if you are the DM?, that doesn't mean you can do that"

My patience is great, but things are looking grim for his character now, and this kind of response usually irritates me, and so, I give up, admitting he was correct.

" You're right, I won't do it, but you know something?, while you were busy fighting off the soldiers, you did not realise that the dark cleric and his acolytes arrived at the hall from behind you (conveniently escorted by more soldiers), and now you are trapped between the two groups"

Which promptly wraps up the discussion.

Unfortunately, many players out there have yet to comprehend that the game is for the DM's fun. And that is why I, Rahvi, founding member of the honourable SDMS (Sadistic Dungeon Master Syndicate), vow to exterminate the character of any of my players who think otherwise, and in order to further this noble cause, I am willing to instruct any DM in the art of being sadistic.
