Live and Let Die
starring Roger Moore and Jane Seymour

Before last night, I'd never seen a James Bond movie before, although I'd always wanted to. And damn. I can understand the hype.

The one thing that I really loved about this movie is the way that they incorporated the theme song (which is, of course, "Live and Let Die," by Paul McCartney and Wings) into the movie. Yes, all movies do this, but the combination of the movie and the part of the song that they used throughout was just breathtaking. Of course, that wasn't all that there was to like. Two words: Roger Moore. Why didn't anyone tell me about this man before I witnessed his amazing piece-of-assness for myself? He delivered a very good performance as, of course, the dapper, charming, sophisticated, dashing 007 (*sigh*). Did I mention that I'm in love with James Bond? Jane Seymour was pretty good if a little helpless as Solitaire.

The thing about this movie is that it was so unbelievable that it was good. I found myself saying at several points throughout the movie, "Yeah, I'm so sure," but once you turn off that automatic "yeah-right" reflex, the movie becomes very enjoyable. The thing about James Bond films is that every woman is in love with James and every man wants to be James. There's no man alive who can match up to 007, but it's nice to dream, and by watching the movie, we're living the dream.

Most quotable line: "Names is for tombstones, baby!"
