Ye Olde Sage of Bottomburn fully understood Ophyllias surprise at his appearance - after all, he was widely known to prefer the comforts of his writing desk and teapot to the rigors of adventuring...
"Well, err, ahh, as you know, I usually avoid interfering with the narrative and, err, Halla doesn't approve, of course, but, umm, in this instance I really felt that I must interject myself into the plotline...for, you see, while searching for some SageThymeRoot this morning, I had a little run- in with a demon and..."
The olde TymeKeeper briefly recounted the tale of his despatch of the demon and handed around the note which he had found in the fiend's clutches. After all assembled (save the still- unconscious Rasor, who wouldn't have been able to read it anyway...) had had the opportunity to peruse its contents, there was a general Hub-Bub in the air! This was true cause for alarm, as the group knew that general Hub-Bubs often precede Pan Demonium...
Nipper raised his hackles and growled deep in his throat and Stormwind whinnied and stamped as the adventurers prepared themselves for the anticipated onslaught. Pavek and Torner drew their blades and the young archer girl took up her bow, watching the skies above for any sign of imminent attack. The general Hub-Bub had now morphed into a growing Clamor, a sure sign that Pan Demonium was near! All feared the worst, as the small group, with one of its fighters still unconscious and both its magic-users spent from their earlier tussle with a runaway demon, was certainly in no shape to fend off an attack from a Demi-God of Chaos and his minions!
The earth beneath the party's feet began to tremble as the decibels from the creatures' roar increased, forcing the fighters to drop their weapons and clap their hands over their ears. Nipper began to howl in pain as he attempted to block out the deafening sound by dropping his head to the ground and covering his ears with his paws. Ophyllia's usually dulcet tones could vaguely be heard ululating in bizarre counterpoint to the creature's horrific shrieks as she wailed in agony. First Danidar and then the young girl fell to the ground, knocked unconscious by the physical shock waves created by the tumultuous noise. Pan Demonium was nigh and the old mage said a final prayer as the world about him swayed and his vision began to dim. Just before he was completely overtaken by darkness, however, he heard a familiar voice bellowing over the Cacophany (for that was what the Clamor had grown into)...
"Oooooh, me feel like after drinking good swamp water! Who make so much noise, wake Rasor up?"
Not receiving a reply, the half-ogre tentatively opened one eye, squinting about him. Noticing the bodies of his travelling companions (and one or two whom he didn't recognize) sprawled about him, and the still carcass of a Cacophany lying off to his left, Rasor turned to the stunned (but still stunning) bard and asked,
"What happen, Ophy?"...
