"Here There Be Vampires!"

Thomaswell Locations

A breakdown of all the major buildings and locations in and around Thomaswell

Greely's Saloon

Obviously the posse are going to have to come in here at some point in the story. Thom runs the saloon during daylight hours (Greely cannot withstand the suns effects) and occasionally a serving girl is employed. Whores frequent the establishment, although none of them know Greely's secret. There are a few rooms which can be hired at $2 per night, although occupants have to be out by 9am the next day so the rooms prove somewhat unpopular.

Occupants - Greely sleeps in his underground lair in a coffin, Thom is around during the day and sometimes plays bouncer at night. He has a room in the basement but often stays in the upstairs rooms. The whores and serving girls do not live in the saloon, they just ply their trade there. Bobby Whittaker and Jacky O Neill often gamble and drink here as do 3d6 other folk

Secrets? - Only that Greely is a Vampire and has a hidden underground lair, Thom is a slave of Greely's, and together they keep a host of unholy dogs locked down the cellar. Other than that the place is clean as a whistle. The entrance to the undergound lair is through the cellar.

The Town Well

This old, disused has a lichen covered statue of Thomas Wilkes, the town founder, sitting atop it glaring away at anybody visiting the monument. The well has been covered with brick and mortar, but if this is broken through there is a 50 foot drop to a dried well bottom

Occupants - Nope, no one lives here - although jacky o Neill will get himself down here at one point in the adventure

Secrets? - Digging a few feet into the wells bottom comes accross an 1830 french edition of Hoyles Book, if translated it contains 3 new random Hexes for any Hucksters who know what to look for

Gordon Hotel

A large hotel which most travellers choose to board at. There is another, cheaper boarding house but it is so run down that most folk think it to be in disuse. The Gordon Hotel, however, is smart, expensive and comfortable - the 20 rooms are $4 per night each but this includes stabling, bedding and breakfast. Nolan Edwards is paying for the posse's accomodation anyhow.

Occupants - Victor Bishop runs the hotel along with a large serving staff and fine "ladies of pleasure", he is friendly but a bit concerned about any "ruffians" frequenting his establishment. Nolan Edwards stays here too, he keeps his curtains drawn tightly during the day (when he sleeps) and doesn't like the posse to disturb him when it's light, unless they have important news. Jacky O Neill also stays at the Gordon (on the 2nd floor) and also doesn't like to be disturbed before dark

Secrets? - None, but Sally Ann (the prostitute) was found dead here.

Sheriff's House

This is where Sheriff Wilson lives. He has no family, his dedication to his job always got in the way of marriage, but he sees Deputy Weeks as the son he never had. His house is basic with everything you would need for a single man. The Sheriff ends up murdered in his bed and hung from his porch

Jailhouse

A small, tidy building with 3 cells, which are usually empty.

Occupants - Either Sheriff Wilson or Deputy Weeks are on duty, sometimes the Sheriff may hire a second or third deputy when the need arises. 2 rifles and 2 shotguns are kept here under lock and key.

Junkstore & Telegraph Office

A small wooden building in a state of ill repair, one can buy/sell/trade all manner of junk items here (Scroungin' rolls ahoy!) and also send telegrams at 5 cents a word

Occupants - Old Ned Rooster lives and works here, he is a digustingly filthy fellow of advanced years but he has an eye for trade and is friendly with anybody who has "stuff" to swap

Secrets? - The junk in Ned's trading post may be useful to Mad Scientists, there's all manner of odd and seemingly useless aquipment lying around, but on successful Scroungin' tests a scientist may be able to find a piece of equipment he needs for one of his Gizmo's. Also there is a Crossbow lying around here somewhere which is useful for combatting Vampires, although it is rather old;

Crossbow

Damage = 4d6
Range = +1/10
ROF = 1
Speed = 2 to fire, 2 to reload (3 if strength is less than 3d6)
Ammo = 16 inch quarells, Old Ned has 12 of these
Reliability = 19, if failed then the xbow falls apart!
Cost = about $7, or trade for something else

Church

A rather new and modern church where the townsfolk go to offer their prayers to God every Sunday. Sermons are also held at 7pm every evening.

Occupants - Preacher Sian York, a typical Fire and Brimstone preacher who is determined not to quit the town even after the recent killings, practices here although he lives over the road with his wife, Beatrice.

Doc Philips' Surgery

Doc Philips' surgery is adequate but small, it is open all day and the doctor can be woken at night for emergencies.

Occupants - Doc Philips and wife. The doc is grumpy and old with balding hair. He has 4d8 in Medicine:General and 2d8 in Medicine:Sugery

Mayors House

Deserted now since the Mayor and his wife were killed by Greely and their children moved away. No townsfolk have been put forward to fill the Mayors role as of yet

Thom's Saloon

Also deserted, Thom' Saloon used to be in healthy competition with Greely's until Thom was kicked in the head by a horse and wasn't able to run the place any longer. A few months later Greely decided he needed a guardian and so made Thom into a capable Ghoul. Thom's old saloon now stands empty and dust filled, occasionally a drunk will use the place for temporary accomodation

Whittakers house

Without a doubt the finest house in town, it was custom built 6 months ago by newcomer Bobby Whittaker. It has 5 bedrooms (more than enough for a bachelor like Whittaker) and several chandeliers, some of the bedroom windows have been painted black to keep the sun out.

Occupants - Bobby Whittaker lives here although spends little time at the house at the moment. His hired Mexican Gunslinger, Romo Sanchez, is also staying at the fine house

Secrets? - Anybody searching this house may find some sort of evidence as to what Whittaker is up to, a map, or a coded telegram from his contacts perhaps.

Others

As well as what is detailed above the town also has a small bank, a schoolhouse, a run down boarding house, a barbers, a smithy and livery, and a few general stores as well as whatever you feel is missing...
