"Jonah Hex - 2 Gun Mojo!"

The Adventure

Chapter 3 - Get Outta Town!

The posse learn the truth of what happened to Slo-Go, free Jonah Hex from prison and flee Mud Creek with a lynch mob on their tail

Talking to Hex

The next morning the sounds of hammering wake the posse up. The townsfolk have gotten busy constructing a gallows to hang hex (and any live Traywicks) from. they go about their buisiness with gleeful expressions on their faces. A banner crosses the street with the words "Come see the hangin'. Today at noon (or thereabouts)" written across it. Fireworks have been set up and if the posse didn't know better they'd think it was July 4th

If the posse want they can go and visit Jonah in his cell, the sheriff doesn't mind so long as the posse surrender their firearms at the jailhouse. Hex is inside his cell being measured for a coffin by the undertaker. The cell door is locked and a deputy stands guard outside. Hex has a bloodied bandage wrapped around his wounded head

If the posse ask about what happened last night Hex will tell them that he threw Slo-Go out of his room for snoring "like a dozen bad carpenters". About an hour later he heard gunfire from the barn and came running to the rescue. He saw a shape with a gun and shot the hell out of it - turned out to be one of the Price gang propped against a beam - next thing he knew a fella on the other side of the barn pulled out a hogleg and shot at him, hitting him a glancing blow on the head. While he was drifting into unconsciousness he saw 3 or 4 people dragging the Price gang away. He heard a high pitched voice say something like "leave these two, Bill, they're too fresh". Must have been refering to Slo-Go and Jonah.

All of this is true, anybody passing a Scrutinize (5) check can see that Jonah is telling the God's honest truth. He also wants out of here (although he doesn't mention this directly in front of the undertaker and deputy) and a judge has already sent a telegram to the marshal giving permission to hang hex and the Traywicks without trial (not the usual proceedure, but what the hell, the judge is a busy man).

If the posse talk to the Sheriff he tells them that Hex is going to hang today. His take on things is that Hex and Slo go planned to steal the Price gang bodies for some nefarious purpose, they've got them hidden out of town somewhere and when they came back to collect their horses they had an argument and shot each other. The hotel owner confirmed that the two had a fallout of some kind in the night.

Breaking Jonah out of jail

Hopefully the posse are going to want to see justice done, Hex is an innocent man and hasn't even been given the right of a trial

There are a few ways the posse can get him out of his cell:

Any gunfire during the breakout goes unheard as a group of boys are setting off firecrakers close to the jailhouse anyway

Getting out of Town

Once Hex is freed he is grateful to the posse but suggest they get out of town with all haste - he heads for his horse and takes the Indian woman with him (if she was involved in the escape). Once the posse make their move they are going to be spotted (unless they have the means to cover their escape) by the townsfolk as the jailhouse is smack in the centre of town. When they spy the fleeing posse with Jonah Hex they begin to open fire. All Hell will break loose as the population of Mud Creek think it's open hunting on posse members. Hex shoots back at anybody who takes a shot at him (this is where the posse will realise that Hex is one good shot with those pistols of his!). The townsfolk are generally poor shots, even shooting some of their own by accident! Hex makes for the woods not too far away and urges the posse to follow him

The Lynch Mob

When the townsfolk get themselves organised they become real peeved at their hanging celebrations being spoiled. Clint and Jesse (the two goons who abused the Indian lady) organise a posse to go get Hex and the heroes. 2 armed townsfolk per posse member + 2 for Jonah Hex mount up and follow the posse at full pelt.

The Lynch mob are not far behind the posse, and if Jonah has the Indian woman with him they are going to get caught as he has two people on the same horse. Run the chase however you want but have the lynch mob take at least a few shots at the heroes. If the posse fight back then the lynch mob gives up when it has lost half it's number

If the Apache serving girl was with the posse and survives the chase (in the Graphic Novel she didn't...) the posse learn her name is "Naheva" and she's a Chirculara Apache. The townsfolk give up their chase in the end and go back to town to eat their fried chicken. If they still have the Traywicks to hang they may give up even sooner

Hex reckons their next move should be to find whoever killed Slo-Go and make them pay for what happened (don't be shy to remind posse members with "vengeful", "loyal" or "Law O the West" of their hindrances)

Bounty
The posse free Jonah Hex: 1 white chip (each)
The posse take Naheva with them and she survives the chase: 1 white chip (each)
