The Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM Cartoon) Drinking Game
By Roland Lowery
----------------------------------------------------
Welcome all to the Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM Cartoon) Drinking
Game! The rules are very simple. All you have to have is:
Tapes of many or all of the Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon that
appeared Saturday mornings on ABC!
Lots of your favorite beverage (more on this in a bit)!
As many friends as you want to play the game with you!
After you have gathered up all this stuff, situate yourself and
the other players (and all the beverages) in front of the TV and pop the
first tape (or only tape, if there's only one) into the VCR. Then, using
the list below, take the prescribed number of drinks when the
action/thing/whatever described appears on the screen.
Now, here's the thing. This game IS made pretty much specifically
for use with acoholic beverages, making the point of the game to get
drunk. The problem? Most Sonic viewers are not over the age of 21, I
understand this. So, in the interest of keeping my conscience clear (and
my legal duties fulfilled), I must include the following disclaimer:
I EXPRESSLY FORBID ANYONE, ANYWHERE, AT ANY TIME, FROM DRINKING
ACOHOLIC BEVERAGES, NO MATTER THE REASON! THEY ARE *EVIL*! *EEEEEVIL!*
Now, that doesn't mean you're going to do what I say, I'm sure,
but just remember, I warned you! I suggest you go out and buy milk or
soda or something else more wholesome if'n you're not 21 or older. You
can still have fun, neh? =]
Note: Whenever it says "drink", this could mean several things,
anywhere from a sip to a chug. It all depends on your personal
preference. Also, even though I said no one should drink alcohol ever,
this list has been written as if alcohol was the beverage of choice. Just
don't tell anyone, neh? ;] And, seriously, if you DO drink, drink
responsibly, okay? You may save a life (or more).
Now, to the game!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This first section will deal with actions of certain characters.
SONIC!
One drink every time . . .
. . . he revs up his legs and runs off.
Two drinks if he DOESN'T run off.
. . . he says "Way past cool!" or some variation thereof. (This
rule is optional. Sonic says this so much, you may incur liver
poisoning if you drink every single time!)
. . . he gives Tails a noogie.
. . . he goes into a Sonic Spin.
Two drinks if he spins through a wall.
Three drinks if he tries to spin through a wall
and fails.
. . . he apologizes for something.
Two drinks if he really means it.
Three drinks if the scene is accompanied by sappy
music.
Two drinks every time . . .
. . . he plays air guitar.
Three drinks if he plays a real guitar.
. . . he impersonates Robotnik's voice.
. . . he saves someone (yay!).
Three drinks every time . . .
. . . he changes his hair-do (quill-do?).
SALLY!
One drink every time . . .
. . . she says "Nicole".
. . . she complains about/to Sonic.

Two drinks if she gets saved by another Freedom Fighter.
Three drinks if she saves herself.
Two drinks every time . . .
. . . the episode features her in her blue vest (first appearance
per episode only).
Three drinks every time . . .

happened at least once!).
TAILS!
One drink every time . . .
. . . he whines.
. . . he gets scared/startled by something.
. . . someone reads him a bedtime story.
Two drinks if its Bunnie.
Two drinks every time . . .
. . . he flies using his tails.
Three drinks if he actually does something more useful
than flying away from a bad guy.
Three drinks every time . . .
. . . he first appears in the episode (hey, he shows up so rarely,
you gotta celebrate!).
BUNNIE!
One drink every time . . .
. . . she calls someone "shugah"-something (i.e., "shugah-hog,"
"shugah-tails," etc.).
. . . she's the focus of a gratuitous butt or boob shot (you'd be
suprised how often this happens).
Heck, take two drinks. You'll need it. ;]
. . . she has cleavage (you have to actually see the line drawn
in).
Two drinks every time . . .
. . . she kisses anyone (it doesn't matter where).
. . . she uses her super strength.
. . . she says "The Bunnie bod is BACK!"
Three drinks every time . . .

. . . someone doesn't understand what he's saying.
Two drinks if he tries to explain it, but they still don't
get it.

liver poisoning thing again . . . )

Take another drink if he's successful.
ROTOR!
One drink every time . . .
. . . he scrunches up his face and thinks real hard.
. . . he fixes something.
Two drinks if it doesn't look like he really did anything
to it.
Three drinks if it breaks down again when he tries
to turn it on.
. . . he stand around and does nothing helpful as usual.
(Optional. Beware the liver poisoning . . . )
Two drinks every time . . .
. . . he whines about not being a real hero. Or something.
. . . One of his inventions doesn't work out quite right.
Three drinks every time . . .
. . . he saves the day. Yay!
DULCY!
Drink as much as you can every time she's in an episode. It doesn't
matter what you're drinking, just drink so much that your bladder
explodes. Death is preferable to having to watch an episode with Dulcy in
it. Just trust me on this, folks. ;]
UNCLE CHUCK!
One drink every time . . .
. . . he calls Sonic "Sonnie."
. . . he contacts the Freedom Fighters through that hummingbird
thing.

Two drinks every time . . .
. . . he gets tied to something (especially chairs).
. . . he yells "OOOOOooohohoho . . . I HATE that hedgehog!"
Three drinks every time . . .
. . . you realize, "Hey, that's Buster Bunny's voice! What the
hell?!"
Four drinks if you also realize it's the voice of Cow and
Chicken, but this fact doesn't disturb you at all.
. . . he loses his hair. Poor guy.
ROBOTNIK!
One drink every time . . .
. . . he pounds his fist on something.
. . . he trashes a 'bot.
. . . he threatens Snively.
. . . he becomes so angry that all he does is stand there and
fume.
Two drinks if he actually lets off fumes.
Two drinks every time . . .
. . . he becomes giddily happy (and it has to be GIDDY!).
. . . he yells "I HATE THAT HEDGEHOG!"
Three drinks if he says it quietly.
Three drinks every time . . .
. . . his plan du jour involves replacing someone with a robotic
duplicate.
Four drinks if he actually fools someone (first instance
per episode only).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The second section will deal with various occurances in the show.

. . . someone gets deleriously happy!
. . . the roboticizer is fired up.
Two drinks if it's actually used.
. . . you notice a production error (wrong color, body parts not
drawn in, obvious voice changes, music screwups, etc.).
Two drinks every time . . .
. . . a previously unknown plot device pops up (like those
anti-gravity shoes of Sonic's).
. . . a robot or robotic duplicate goes haywire.
Three drinks if they start blasting stuff at random.
. . . they go somewhere other than the Great Forest, Robotropolis,
or the plains in between.

Just chug away if you have no idea WHO won.
Three drinks every time . . .
. . . someone dies/gets roboticized.
. . . someone comes back from the dead.
. . . time travel is used.
. . . robots are shown using musical instruments.
And chug everything you've got while Sonic and Sally kiss at the end of
the Doomsday episodes! WOO WOO!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, that's about it. If'n you have any ideas of your own to add
on to this list, send it to me at ! I
enjoy hearing from people who can spell.
Have fun!
