ELFYLLON

The Elfyllon (singular: Elfyl) combine the bodies of Ellyllon with the mentality of Elves (both races found in GURPS Fantasy Folk, Second Edition). They are slightly taller and slenderer than the Ellyllon, but even more beautiful, with Elvish features and coloring.

Advantages and Disadvantages

Elfyllon have ST-5 [-40], DX+3 [30] and IQ+1 [10]. They have the advantages of Acute Hearing +2 [4], Acute Vision +3 [6], Appearance (Very Handsome) [25], Combat Reflexes [15], Flight (Winged) [30], Magery 1 [15], Musical Ability +2 [4], Night Vision {10], PD +1 [25], Ultrahearing [5] and Unaging [15]. Their disadvantages are Code of Honor (to live elegant lives) [-10], Fragile [-20], Incompetence (Tracking) [-1], Inconvenient Size [-15], Reduced Hit Points -5 [-25], Sense of Duty (nature) [-15], Vow (vegetarianism) [-5].

Elfyllon have the racially-learned skill of Flight at DX+1 [2]. They have the racial skill bonuses of Bard +2 [2] and Savoir-Faire +2 [1] and a group skill bonus of +1 for the soft sciences (e.g. Anthropology, Literature, Psychology) [6].

The cost to play an Elfyllon is 76 points.

Elfyllon combat is treated the same as that of the Ellyllon (FF p. 54).

Psychology

The Elfyllon are decidedly Elvish in this regard. They do not have the Ellyllon's pride and moodiness, nor are they tricksters. They are wise and philosophical, often seeking knowledge for its own sake.

Elfyllon are more proficient at magic or the sciences than at weapon or poison use. They are not cowards, but combat is always a last resort.

Ecology

Elfyllon are strict vegetarians and grow all the food they need within their community. Hunting is an abhorrent concept.

They are monogamous and rarely remarry when their mate dies.

Culture

A tribe of Elfyllon live as a self-contained commune of 50 to 200 individuals. They practice true democracy — major decisions are reached after debate and voting. Each adult is considered an equal and takes turns as tribal chief with the responsibility of minor decisions.

They are extremely content with their lives so very few go adventuring. Occasionally a group seeking particular information will travel to foreign lands.
