EV Override is the sequal to Escape Velocity. The galaxy is 5 times bigger and the Confederate vs. Rebel theme is gone. Instead, there are 6 major civilizations, 5 of them alien, renegades(pirates), and a bunch of smaller alien races too. The humans are mainly governed by UE(United Earth) with the exception of a few Independents and Renegades. All the humans have primitive technology and are at war with the superior Voinians, an annoying alien race. You start with 10,000 credits and a crappy shuttlecraft in Sol. You have only a few UE systems on your map to start, but can expand it greatly. Some key features of Override is that the map can change according to what you do and instead of haveing everlasting war you can win them, sort of. I have found that you never quite finish off wars, but take over a few planets and give one side an advantage, never taking over all the opposeing sides systems. Systems can not only change governments, but you can blow-up planets and stations and even build new ones. Opportunity awaits you as a simple trader, a pirate, a hit-man, apolition, and/or a guy who just kicks everybody's ass.

Help and Hints

How do I get a UE Cruiser?

To get the UE Cruiser you must have done missions for UE, not necessarily the Dreadnought missions, but they must be spaceport bar missions. Once you have done this go to the bar in Talii. There should be a mission to find the ship that captured Anna Balinashov or something. The trick is you have to go directly to Freeport in the Riomor system. The rest is simply following directions. In the end, however, you must defeat the Nadir, a heavily outfitted Terncoat. This is easy with a Cresent Warship or better, but if you have a worse ship I sugest this trick: land and leave the planet again at the system with the Nadir untill there is an ok ship in the system that attacks and distracts the Nadir. Target a ship out of site, go up to the Nadir(when he's distracted) and get him inbetween you and the ship you tageted, and start fireing. He should keep going for the ship that distracted him while you can shoot him with the other ship targeted.

How do I join the Igadzra?

You start the Igadzra missions in the Himgro system. I do not know the requirements for the mission to appear, so if you don't get it the first time you go there don't be surprised. I got it with an Arada and after I had completed a string of missions with the Miranu. The mission asks you to take classified cargo, which turns out to be eels, to Igadzra. If you have any specific questions about the string of missions available from the Igadra, email me from the bottom and I'll get back to you within a day most likely.

How do I join the Zidagar?

You start the Zidagar missions in the Pozdag system. Again I do not know the requirements so just go there and it should be there. If not, fly around a bit and come back. It should be there though. If you have any specific questions about thte string of missions available from the Zidagar, email me from the bottom and I'll get back to you within a day most likely.

How do I join the Azdgari?

You start the Azdgari missions at South Tip Station in the Akrayhek system. Again I do not know the requirements so just go there and it should be there. If not, fly around a bit and come back. It should be there though. If you have any specific questions about thte string of missions available from the Azdgari, email me from the bottom and I'll get back to you within a day most likely.

How do I join the Voinians?

You start the Voinian missions at Pax in the Dogovor system. To get the mission to appear I just killed a bunch of UE guys and after a few trys it appeared. If you have any specific questions about thte string of missions available from the Voinians, email me from the bottom and I'll get back to you within a day most likely.

How do I complete the central objectives?

There are three cental objectives in EV Override. Number one: you must start to defeat either the Voinians or the Humans, depending on which one you join. This will be completed after you finish the last mission in the string. Number two: you must tilt the power in the Strand War. You can do this on the side of the Azdgari, Igadzra, or Zidigar. This will be completed after you finish the last mission in the string. Number three: you must explore the Nebulas. You get the mission to do this in the Priat system after completeing a few of the Miranu missions. When going into the Nebulas ALWAYS BRING A FUEL SCOOP, I got cought in there with out one once and there is no way to get out. If you have any specific questions about the central objectives, email me from the bottom and I'll get back to you within a day most likely.

How do I join the Zacha?

You start the string of missions available from the Zacha in the Zacit system. It doesn't always apear the first time so if it doesn't, fly around a bit and come back. Also their may be some requirements, but I am not sure what they are. If you have any specific questions about the string of missions available from the Zacha, email me from the bottom and I'll get back to you within a day most likely.

How do I get the Miranu Gunship?

Well the time at which you get it seems to vary, in one of my files I got it one mission after you join and on other files I have yet to get it, but it appears in the Zachit system. If it doesn't appear at first take a mission and go back and eventually it will appear. If you have any specific questions about the string of missions in which you get the Gunship, email me from the bottom and I'll get back to you within a day most likely.

How do I destroy the Rock?

You destroy it in the Miranu Gunship string of missions available from the Zacha.

Tactics

How do I beat the Voinian Dreadnought?

I took another mission in the same system(destroy a build up of Voinian ships in the whatever its called system) and it seemed to give me an advantage. It may take you a few trys, but one of the times the guys on your side will overwelm the Voinians and once you have a bunch of ships attacking the Dreadnought, it will become easy. Otherwise, try useing Hunter Missiles from a distance.

The "Monty Python" Technique

In the "Monty Python" techneque, I didn't name it that, you get a ship to chase you. Keeping it just in sight at the bottom(or top or side, depending on which way you go) of your screen and fire at it using turrets. If you do it correctly the other ship will not use turrets on you and you will be hitting it. Some ships will fire guided missiles and stuff, but this is mainly the Igadzra and it won't hurt that much. Keep in mind that sudden changes in speed will provoke turret fire at some distances so try to keep an even pace.

Killing some big ships with small ships

If you target another ship other than the one you are going for and fire at it while the ship you are trying to kill is in the line of fire he will be damaged and MOST ships will, if they are not hostile at the time, not fire at you. There are exceptions, however, and when I tryed it against the Dreadnought it didn't work. Feel free to try it though I only tryied it on the Dreadnought once.
