° No Symphony.
° No Choirs, No Bands.
° No Forces.
° No Resonance, No Dissonance.
° No Disturbance
° No Saints, but deceased humans can return as Angels.
° Has Succubi and Incubi
° There are no soldiers of Hell, but deceased humans can return as Demons, if they're evil (and lucky) enough.
° There are two kinds of Soldier of God : Servitors of God and Soldiers of God. Soldiers are less creative, work directly for Angels, obey their orders to the letter and are granted more Powers than Servitors of God, who are granted much more independence, but fewer Powers. Both possess supernormal Willpower.
° The main book has far more powers in it available to Angels and Demons overall.
° More Superiors to choose from on both sides.
° In lieu of Tethers, INSMV has Churches, which serve as military outposts and bases for Heaven. So far as I can tell, there is no Infernal equivalent.
° In lieu of Celestial Form, all celestials possess the ability to create an aura, or halo, around them which identifies their alignment (Heaven or Hell), as well as their Power Level.
° In lieu of the Children of the Grigori, there exist the Psis, descendents of Adam and Eve from the Eden Experiment, humans with Psionic abilities and a different set of powers than that of the forces of Good and Evil.
° Angels and Demons have separate lists of Powers, though there is a fair amount of overlap between them. Many powers, therefore, are only available to Angels and vice versa.
° Characteristics are: Strength, Agility, Mental Power, Precision, Appearance, and Perception; scaled from 1-6, not 1-12.
° Powers (called "Powers") are not divided between Songs and Attunements and are associated with characteristics, not with "Corporeal", "Ethereal", or "Celestial" and thus there are not three "versions" of each "song".
° No Fate, No Destiny (so far as it concerns humans going to Hell or Heaven.)
° No vessels (one body per celestial.)
° No hearts, all deceased celestials return home.
° No celestial form, no celestial combat. Instead, merely killing a member of the opposite side is usually enough to take them out of the action for a few hundred years, or at least for a few months.
° No trauma. Deceased celestials are lucky to return to earth in a few decades instead of a few thousand years. The chosen few can return in a manner of months (in time for the next adventure).
° No roles (as there's no Symphony to Disturb), instead Angels and Demons can have "covers" which grant them human status, power, and influence.
° No roleplaying occurs in the celestial realms. Instead, Heaven and Hell are presented as being beyond the capacity of the human imagination, so much that player characters will only have the slightest memories of what Heaven and Hell are like (pure light and unending joy; flames and tortured screams)
° Soldiers of God regenerate 1 Power Point (=Essence) every 3 hours (instead of 24).
° Servitors of God regenerate 1 Power Point every 6 hours.
° Undead (made only from corpses) regenerate 1 Power Power every 12 hours.
° Familiars (demoted Demons) regenerate 1 Power Point every 6 hours.
° Not all Superiors have Servitors, including Jesus (AA of God), Catherine (AA of Women), Gabriel (AA of Fire), and George (AA of Purification).
° Superior descriptions include the Superior's opinions regarding human beings, animals, violence, politics, order and discipline, the other Superiors of the same side, and the role of their servitors.
° Superiors cannot manifest on earth directly, they manifest avatars instead.
° Angels take 1/3 damage, Demons take 1/2 damage, humans take full. Avatars of Demon Princes take 1/3 damage, and avatars of Archangels take 1/4 damage.
° The forces of hell are clearly labeled the Forces of EVIL, and the forces of heaven are clearly labeled the Forces of GOOD. The "greyness" comes through in the game's tone.
° Angels and Demons have different starting stats. Angels receive more points in characteristics, Demons start off with more points in skills.
° d666 system uses the hundred's, ten's, and one's places differently than the American game.
° Skills are pretty much unchanged.
° Distinctions pretty much unchanged.
° Has Superior-specific powers (one per Superior).
° 111 and 666 as interventions unchanged.
° Risk is far more useful (since CD6 equivalent is impossible without Risk).
° Many of IN's Discords are reflections of INSMV's limitations.
° The game has more personality, more Bite, if you will.
° Oh, and INS/MV is FRENCH. So, unless you read the language, are familiar with French cultural history, and are a bit up to date with current events in France, you might not be able to fully appreciate the book.
