Here in you will find:
Organizations, Rumors.
And, of course, Rumored Organizations.
Official
Organizations
The Inquisition
Joseph,
Vassal of Concience, Vassal of Inquiry, Friend of Judgement, Friend of
the Quest, Master of Law, Master of Discovery, Malakite Angel of the Inquisiton,
is the powerful leader of this organization, which acts as Dominic's right
hand as it exists solely to root out corruption in the Host. Nearly all
members of this group are either angels of Dominic or Litheroy, though
it has not been unknown for angels of other Words to cross over and join
the ranks. It is from the Inquisition that the feared triads are formed.
Most typically, of the three angels, there is a Cherub of Judgement who
attunes himself to the target of inquiry, a Seraph of either Judgement
or Revelations who is present to determine the Truth of the matter, and
a third angel who carries out the sentence, if need be. Joseph personally
interviews each all agents before and after they are sent to interrogate
a target, he takes it upon himself to root out corruption in the Inquisition.
The Trisagionists
Membership
to this group is available only to Seraphim, and usually the purest of
the pure Seraphim, those are who truly "closest to God." These Most Holies
perform the Rites and Rituals of Worship on Earth as it is in Heaven for
official religious occassions. The Song of the Trisagion brings the entire
occassion closer to God and shuts out any possibility of intervention by
Lucifer. Though any angel can learn and perform the Song, performing it
for informal purposes is severely frowned upon, and using in towards selfish
ends is actually potentially dangerous to the performer.
The Knights Templar
These
Knights were charged with guarding the gold of the Catholic church, and
were immediately supported by Marc. Marc's sponsorship has continued, and
while new members are still inducted occassionly, the original members
are still present through use of the Corporeal Song of Entropy. The Knights
Templar are now internationall bankers, and while they worked to ensure
that currency is based upon gold, a solid foundation, since the mid-70's
they've been (struggling?) working to keep the world's economy stable and
upward moving. Marc is invested enough in the Knights to perhaps
pay be a *personal* visit to anyone that attempts to interfere with his
organization.
The Order of the Eternal Sword
This order holds itself to very high standards of honor, loyalty and faith
in Christ, and fighting ability. They practice all over the globe,
particularly in the way of the sword. The high ranking angels of
this order are distinguished swordsmen, known for their generosity, selflessness,
martial skills, and loyalty to Laurance and the Christian faith.
They are also forbidden from joining other societies in Heaven, unless
they change Superiors.
The Tsayadim
When Uriel
was called up to the Upper Reaches of Heaven, most of his servitors chose
to serve Laurence, but not all. The Tsayadim continue to serve Purity;
their Rites and Attunements still function (unlike those of they who chose
to serve other Archangels). They still patrol the area separating the Vale
from the Far Marches, to try and control the flow of Ethereals into the
human's Dreamlands.
The Purifiers
This is
the Vatican's elite group of demon-hunters. They were once led by
Saint Gregory the Great who served Purity. Now, they are led by Saint
Gregory the Great who serves Laurence. Needless to say, since his
return to earth in the 700's, his attitudes towards Evil incarnate hasn't
changed all that much, and neither has the organization's. Catholic
fundamentalists all, these Soldiers are fanatically loyal to the Church
and gladly give their lives, when tactically necessary, to remove Demons
from the Corporeal plane. In past 200 years, however, Gregory's tactics
have been changing slightly. He has discovered that Demons whose
plans have been throughly demolished before they are slaion are much, much
less likely to return to the Corporeal plane.
This puts
in Gregory's forces in a bind. Whereas they now have the knowledge
of how to purge Demons from the Earth on a much more permanent basis, their
removal leds to different Demons being sent to Earth, Demons whose
presence is not detected as immediately, because their personality, personal
motives, and psychology is unknown to the Purifiers. Currently, there
is debate within the group as to whether or not Demons should be purged
more permenently, or whether the Demons should not be ruined politically,
to increase the likelihood of their return to Earth. Of course, previously
established Demons already have stronger Earthly connections, but these
connections are already known . . . the debate continues.
Hellforce
This group
of Hellsworn Soldiers is supported by multiple Demon Princes, and is directed
by Ba'al. It's also the largest known human-related operation in the War.
Typically they work as back-up for Infernal Missions, serve as cannon fodder
for their demonic masters, or search and rescue Demons in trouble with
the Host.
The Hellfire Society
This group
is primarily concerned with maintaining Hellfire Society nightclubs throughout
the United States, Europe, and Russia. Sponsored by Andrealphus, these
nightclubs support alternate lifestyles, b/d/s/m, and a host of Hellsworn
humans.
Modern Music Corporation (M.M.C.)
This recently
formed group is a pawn of Kronos with the goal of working to destroy society's
confidence in its mass cultural icons - i.e. Pop Music Stars. Building
off of Nybbas's "playlist" concept (tune into your local Top 40 radio station),
Kronos' current pet project sponsors the seeking out or creation of new
"talent." These young people are fed what to say, how to sing, and what
to do by Hell. Nybbas is not particularly pleased with Kronos' encroachment
on his Word, but isn't complaining too much as his power grows from Kronos'
efforts.
The Secret Police
While
its existance is no secret, its members certainly are. This group is the
equivalent of the Inquisition in Heaven, at least in terms of its purpose;
its methods are quite different. It's leader is Nergal, Knight of Judgement,
Captain of Integrity, Baron of Justice, Duke of Investigation, Habbalite
Demon of the Secret Police. His demons are undercover agents who worm their
way into any and all infernal circles. Most often, they pose as Soldiers
of Hell in earthly operations. Typically, the demons of the Secret Police
have extreme patience, are capable of enduring all kinds of grevious pain,
and are known for their pratical inability to crack when interrogated.
Only the strongest and most loyal (fanatically so) of Asmodeus' demons
are elevated to the status of being a member of this organization. Most
often, rather than attempt to take a guilty demon into custody themselves
and lose their cover, they will call in a member of the Lightbringers.
The Lightbringers
Only those
demons foolish or stupid enough to be caught by Nergal's officers ever
meet a member of the Lightbringers. This organization answers to only two
individuals: Asmodeus and Lucifer. Gathered by Lucifer as his personal
bodyguards at first, these demons now serve as Lucifer's surgical strike
team, and have been placed under the direction of Asmodeus. Having been
virtually raised by Lucifer, these demons are very, very old (like, from
the original Fall or created shortly thereafer) and likewise very, very
powerful. Usually merely mentioning that you are a Lightbringer is enough
to convince a demon to turn himself in (and/or whomever else the Lightbringer
wishes). Claiming to be a Lightbringer when you're not is certain to lead
to your Soul Death.
The Bureau
Although
no proof has been brought to the Seraphim Council, the Seraphim Council
doesn't really want to know for sure if this organization truely exists.
In theory, this group was formed shortly after the destruction of Makatiel,
Renegade Demon Prince of Corruption, though it is certainly possible that
The Bureau has existed from as early as Legion's destruction. The idea
behind the Bureau is that Dominic and Asmodeus have organized a group of
celestials who track, hunt down, and destroy renegades and outcasts, or
anyone else the two patriarchs wish to be removed.
The Thieves' Guild
Although
this organization is certainly known to exist, it's not approved of by
the higher ups of Heaven or Hell (meaing Asmodeus, if Lucifer didn't approve
it, it probably wouldn't still be in existance). As Servitors of Theft
organized in Hell against Asmodeus, they found that being organized helped
them gain a higher standard of living. Once their ranks spilled over to
Earth, the modern nature of the Guild came to be established. While the
guild isn't able to prevent other celestials from stealing without its
approval, those who do stand to gain respect and other perks. Both Demons
of Theft and Angels of the Wind make up its ranks. The buying, selling,
and trading of stolen goods, particulary Enchanted items, is the most common
use of the Guild. Humans, no matter how talented, are not allowed into
its ranks, and the Guild's existance is to kept secret by its members (and
judging by its listing here, they've done such a good job of it).
The New Crusade
This merely
century-young group posted a manifesto upon the door of Laurence's Cathedral
in 1901. The essence of that manifesto is unknown to the Celestial community
at large. What is known is that in that manifesto, the group declared that
it would achieve its aims regardless of the approval of the Seraphim Council.
They therefore have come under investigation by the forces of Judgement.
While some angels are suspected of being connected with the organization,
no official arrests have been made, no leaders have been discovered, and
there have never been enough evidence to bring the angel before the Council.
Dominic is quoted as saying, "I have reason to believe that this secret
organization has at least one Archangel as its patron. What evidence I
have been able to gather also indicates that this organization is working
to topple the established order. I am personally taking steps to ensure
it and its members are discovered, understood, and dealt with appropriately."
The August Properity Collective
The Shinto
kami
(spirits) drivin out of Japan at the end of WWII have cut a deal with Nybbas.
In exchange for their alliance with Hell (at least with Nybbas), the Prince
of the Media will aid them in "buying out" modern icons and regain their
power on earth through mass media such as anime movies and manga comic
books. Blandine has been rumored to have approached them with a similar
deal, but that the spirits are too honorable to go back on their pact with
the Demon Prince.
Dracula's Brood
Better not let
Saminga find out that the name of his favorite organization's unimaginative,
because, well, he'll destroy you faster than you blink an eye. See,
this group is the largest Undead organization on earth (that exists with
Saminga's patronage). In pleasing their Master, these Undead are
often discovered performing inane, cliché, and pathetically thought-out
missions. Still, with Saminga's patronage, they are a group not to
threaten directly.
Gathering Souls
Sometimes you
gotta be Free, often you realize this after you've already sold your soul
to the Devil. Usually, sentiments such as this are not only felt,
but acteed upon, especially if you've had a good half-century to century
to think about it. Paul Drummond, former Mummy of Death certainly did.
He arranged a meeting with Lilith and made her an offer. He would
offer her the highest level Geasa he could, in exchange for Freedom (stated
therein that Lilith not trade her Geas on him to another Prince).
Intruiged, Lilith agreed, and on the spot burned away Saminga's connection
to him and made him an undead Soldier of Freedom. That was over four
hundred years ago. Paul (it is believed) lives yet, and coordinates
the freeing of Soldiers of Hell, undead in particular, from Saminga's dirty
hands. Dracula's Brood and Gathering Souls have been at odds for centuries
now, and while Lilith couldn't care less about Saminga's growing hatred
of "her" organization, the Lord of Death wants to destroy Gathering Souls.
Meanwhile, in
the 1850's there were rumors about Paul having meeting with Laurence on
more than occasion. Though, the chief goals of the organization (namely
the relocation of undead and soldiers of Hell) haven't changed since the
organization's inception. The group is rumored to have grown more
powerful and there is rumored evidence of having received angelic aid.
Rumors that Lilith has and hasn't called in her Geas on Paul both exist.

The few survivers of the envoy sent to the Far Marches by Marc and
Laurence who did return, are insane, unstable, Fallen or worse . . .

true).

bind them together and ZAP'EM!)
There are Ethereal versions of Jesus, the Virgin Mary, and the Holy
Ghost floating around the Marches, sponging off the Christians.
God is merely an Ethereal deity who became powerful enough to supress
the true history of creation and rewrite it to suit His wishes.
God is Man.
God is dead.
God is on vacation in Jamacia, sipping drinks with Eli.
God is Eli.
The Greys (supposed Ethereal beings who guise themselves as alien visitors)
were created by the dreams of aliens first, then found their
way to Earth to gain power from Earthly dreamers.
Children of the Grigori
These
humans, believed to be descendents of the off-spring of the Grigori who
were human enough to escape detection, are rumored to be have powers that
are not understood. Just recently, human beings believed to be Children
of the Grigori were discovered in Chicago. The Seraphim Council has declared
no angels are to travel to Chicago without prior approval of the Council.
Hell, meanwhile, shows no sign of having learned of the supposed Children's
existance.
