Is there a better way

So now you've been enlightened by this web site, but you're thinking "Well, what can we do about this?" While a change in the education system is needed, we do not want a complete 360 degree turn around.

The changes to be made should be small. The first programs to be cut when school funding is low, is music and art. The first step would be to recognize that those programs are just as important as English and Science. People just need to find a way to come up with the funding for those departments. Instead of cutting funding completely for those departments, if every department took a small cut back equally, that would be a more fair approach.

Music, Art, and Theater should always be available to students if they want to foster their skills in these areas. Likewise, though, Math, Science, and English need to be taken to improve those skills as well. All areas of the brain, be it the right or the left side, need to be challenged and need to be given the opportunity to flourish. The education system shouldn't be partial to either side of the brain.
