My overall goal is to run on the track team with times well enough to score a couple of points. I'd also like at some time to earn at least one metal.
This goal will be a lot easier to reach with smaller goals building up. By the end of this summer I just hope to get myself in generally better condition, strength and endurance wise, to prepare for fall training with the team at UD. To give myself a point to work to and a goal I'm aiming for a 52.5 second 400 meter dash and about a 24 second 200 meter dash time. To reach this goal I hope to fallow the schedule outlined below.
A lot of the schedule will probably change once I figure out what my work schedule is. If I feel in the first two weeks that the biking distances are to far they of course will be change, as well as the amount I lift if muscles are two soar. The schedule gets more intensive as time goes on and if I feel like I can handle it I will probably add more in August, making sure though not to wear my self out before training with the team begins.
Light blue days will indicate when I will be doing intervals on the track. On days marked in grey I will be riding my bike to work. If I do not work that day I will still ride, but in a large loop near my home. Days marked in blue and yellow I will be going to the track for 2 runs of 400 and 2 runs of 200 for time trials, not at absolute speed, but just to track my progress. Days in italics and underline I will be lifting. I will also be swimming laps, just about every day at the water park I work at, I did not include this as part of my schedual because doing this will depend on whats going on at work.
