Others Arrive at the Scene |

Suddenly!! There's a disturbance in the Symphony, and where Jezreel is standing, or rather about two feet away, is ground Zero. [No need to roll, this is obviously the sound of a Celestial manifesting Corporeally, about a 10pt disturbance] Alicia Savoy manifests, subtly, praise the Heavens. She notices first off that it's night, there's a somewhat roundish detective in front of her. To her immediate left is a young lady whom she immediately recognizes as Jezreel. Jezreel turns to see the source of the new disturbance, glad enough for an excuse to look away from the undead body. [OOGM: Please, take a moment to descibe your corporeal appearance] She glances around, noticing the body, the flashing lights reflecting off of the foliage and buildings, and the expressions of the two in front of her. She smiles briefly, "I hope I'm not interrupting anything, Jezreel." "I'm not sure, exactly," Jezreel admits honestly. "We're kind of trying to find out what's going on here," she says, gesturing to include the area around the Science World. "But so far I don't seem to be offering much help..." Alicia is a tall woman that's attractive in an earthy, no-nonsense sort of way. Her skin is tanned and it complements her sun-bleached hair and brown eyes. She's wearing jeans, boots and a "Holden Arboretum" t-shirt with "STAFF" over the shirt's pocket. Her stance can only be described as 'ready'... as if she was acutely aware of her environment and kept herself prepared to respond to threats unseen. [OOC: Kalamiel resonates everyone nearby. Hey, I'm an angel... it's what we do. =) ] [Charybdis] OOC: Excuses, excuses... We know it's really just because you're nosy... :P [OOC: Oh, I don't claim that isn't a factor! Besides, a nosy Seraph would discover the lie immediately.] =)
[Charybdis]
[Kalamiel, Resonance roll
[Charybdis]
The most ignoble thing is harder. Jezreel is so very correct most of the
time-- in part because she's terrified of Falling herself. I suppose the
most ignoble thing she's done would be that she actively sought out her
father to tell him about her Assignment. Though she is supposed to be
trying to Redeem Cozbi, she does have mixed feelings about dealing with
him, and that is especially true when it is she, and not he, that initiates
the contact. Part of her does feel guilty about consorting with Demons no
matter how good the cause.
OOC: I wasn't sure if Perry wanted me to repost Jezreel's description for
the benefit of the new players or not, but I figured it couldn't hurt...
Jezreel looks to be a "all American" preteen girl-- peaches and
cream complexion, slender build, straight white teeth. She appears to be
about 11 years old, with the long lanky lines and washboard build common to
girls who have not yet hit puberty. Jezreel has long, straight dirty-blonde
hair which would tumble down to her waist if it weren't tied back in a high
pony tail. Her bright baby blue eyes opened wide with wonder or perhaps
confusion, and that wide-eyed expression gives her a slightly myopic
appearance and also conveys a certain aire of innocence.
The young Angel is dressed in a pair of faded blue jeans and black
T-shirt with bright safety orange letters reading, "Serve Heaven now. Ask
me how." A faded blue jeans jacket is thrown, unbuttoned, overtop the
T-shirt. Despite the jacket to ward off the chill night air, Jezreel's
feet are bare.
Judging by the reactions (or lack thereof), Alicia assumes
that everyone surrounding the body is 'in the know'. "We all have
our specialties, Jez. I'm Kalamiel, but call me Alicia, please."
Jezreel winces slightly at the bastardization of her name, but
does not interrupt until Alicia finishes her introduction. "As you prefer,
Alicia," she says, though you get the vague impression that she
disapproves. "And I prefer, Jezreel, if you don't mind."
[Alicia]
[Jezreel]
[Charybdis]
[Alicia]
"I can try," Jezreel says slowly, as though not really convinced
of her ability to do so. "But I'm still working out all the details and
dynamics myself."
[Charybdis]
[John]
[Charybdis]
Glancing around to see where introductions are needed, she says,
"Um, first off, this is Michnelion. He's a Servitor of Judgement, but the
humans around here know him as Detective Neelon."
"And you serve whom?" asks the detective of Alicia.
Jezreel glances at Michnelion and then at Alicia as if realizing for the
first time that she herself should really have asked that before launching
into the whole story...
[Alicia]
Michnelion nods in acknowledgement.
Jezreel's eyes widen a bit more at that. Flowers is *not* who she
expected. What an odd assortment of Celestials she's met today!
Turning to the Malakim,
she says, "This is Adonikam, who's known as Adam. I don't know how he fits
in, other than that he found the bodies."
Adam nods.
"Pleased to meet you, Adam." she murmurs politely.
[Jezreel]
The officer has actually just turned the corner of the building, so, Alicia
doesn't get a good look at him.
[Charybdis]
Having made her introductions, Jezreel then thinks a moment trying
to decide how best to summarize the situation. "I'm not really sure where
to start," she admits, "Because I'm not sure how much of all this in
interconnected yet. But..." She shrugs.
"This morning Lord Litheroy Assigned me to find and recruit a
Soldier. I ran into Damien at my father's shop, and the Symphony told me
he was the right one. This evening, Damien called to tell me that his
house had been broken into, his computer destroyed, and his dog
injured. My mother and I went straight over to see what we could do." She
pauses a second and clarifies before going on with her summary. "Mom's a
Mercurian of Children... Anyway, from the damage, it was obvious that
Demons were involved... And it's likely that my father was one of
them." Looking at the floor briefly and then reestablishing eye contact,
"My father's Fallen." She says directly.
Adam seems impressed, but he kneels by the man on the ground and rummages in
his coat pockets.
Jezreel's not really sure how to react that reaction, so she just files it
away for later. She is momentarily distracted by Adonikam's going through
the undead thing's pockets. She too is curious what he might be carrying,
and she is immensely grateful that since the Malakite is already digging
through the pockets, she doesn't have to get close enough to it to do it
herself.
The tall woman nods sympathetically, "I'd heard. Take heart
that not all that is lost, will remain lost forever."
Smiling with gratitude for the understanding, Jezreel says, "I'm going to
Redeem him," after a short hesitation, she adds, "At least I'm trying to..."
Alicia seems about to say something, then changes
her mind, "We'll talk more on this later, I'm sure."
Jezreel nods her agreement.
After a brief pause, she goes on. "When Damien's father called
the police, Mom suggested he talk to Detective Neelon... After the police
came to check out the crime scene, Damien and I went back to Michnelion's
office at the precinct. After we talked about the situation for a while,
he asked if I might be able to help find Shije who has been accessing
Kirharaseth from several places locally, including Damien's school. While
we were talking about that and arranging protection for Damien, we heard a
major disturbance in the Symphony, which is what led us here."
[OOGM: John, Kirharaseth is the name of Heaven's main web-accessable
computer. It houses all Heaven's e-mail services.]
[Charybdis]
"When we arrived, there were gunshots; people were
dying." Jezreel looks visibly shaken as she recounts this. "The officers
on the scene said there was a hostage situation... Michnelion sent me to
get permission to search the bottom of the building. At this point, we
noticed a strange figure heading for the building. Michnelion said she was
a special agent. Then Detective Ross and I went to search the grounds for
anything unusual."
"Ross is one of my men," states Detective Neelon.
"Sorry," Jezreel says a bit sheepishly, "I should've said... Anyway..."
"At this point, I kind of lost track of what was going on in the
area overall," Jezreel admits sheepishly, "Because my father showed up to
warn me to get out of town because Hell was about to launch a major
offensive and he couldn't protect me, and I was dealing with that
situation. I didn't really connect back to what was going on in the larger
scene until the Song of Thunder rocked the roof. Michnelion and I were
heading for the roof when Adonikam came out of the building carrying two
bodies-- the special agent and... Laban's." Jezreel swallows hard, then
says, "Laban's a servitor of Destiny who was supposed to be teaching me..."
Alicia raises her eyebrows at the mention of a major offensive,
but remains silent.
Jezreel utterly fails to notice Alicia's reaction...
"And that's about it, really," she says, "Other than that they
also found the body of that undead thing. And then you showed up."
"I don't know if that's much help," she says, "Adonikam might be
able to tell you more about what happened on the roof..." Turning to
Michnelion, she asks, "Did I leave out anything important?" Her tone
sounds vaguely worried.
[Charybdis]
[OOGM: ha ha ha . . .]
"No, not really," says Detective Neelon. He looks to Alicia, "Now, why are
you here and how do you know Jezreel?"
Jezreel turns back to Alicia, waiting to hear her answer. And wanting to
be certain of the response, she invokes her Resonance...
[Charybdis]
[Jezreel Resonance Roll: TN=7
[Alicia]
[Jezreel]
[Alicia]
At the mention of Alicia's having been sent at the request of Judgement,
Jezreel nods, thinking that this might be the help that Phalgus had
promised to send her. Then, realizing that Alicia has not mentioned his
name as he said is agent would, Jezreel half-wonders if she should be
expecting yet another representative of Judgement to show up.
She brushes a stray lock of hair out of her face, "Good sources
indicate
that this city may be in grave danger and that some of this centers
around you, Jezreel. Quite possibly because of your father, though
I have no immediate evidence of this."
[The Symphony tells Jezreel, "She believes all of this
to be the Truth. She tells the truth because she believes in
sharing information with allies."]
"Around me?" Jezreel asks, sounding distinctly uncomfortable about that.
When you mention her father, Jezreel nods a bit sadly, as if that explains
a lot. "My father did say that this was the start of a major attack
against Heaven, and that he wanted me to get out of town," she says,
glancing downwards and then back up, "But lately it's hard to know whether
to believe him or not." Pain and confusion line the young girl's face.
"Understandable," says Neelon. He bends down to speak with Adam. "Well?"
"Uh . . . I had been planning on using a truth serum on him to help us
discern how he's involved in all this, but I'm not sure it would work with
his undead vessel."
"It's okay, we've got a seraph," says the detective, "And barring that the
Chief has some truth-seeking abilities of his own. We should be okay. Just
try and keep it unconscious for now."
Jezreel nods, glancing warily at the undead thing that Michnelion
and Adonikam are talking about. "I'll help however I can," she says.
Adam looks up at Jezreel, smiling a bit. "I think I can handle it. Although the undead don't have to breath a good whack or two to the head will suffice." He stands up, placing his foot against the unconscious undead body.
Looking just a little green, Jezreel gives a nervous laugh... " I meant
with seeing that ... it... tells you the Truth, actually..."
Adam just smiles, a smile that to an ordinary mortal might look a little psychotic, but to a Seraph, just feels Malakite in nature. "Yup," says Adam.
[Alicia]
[The Symphony tells Jezreel, "She believes all this
to be True and is trying to help you because she has had
experience with Balseraphs in the past and knows how tricky
they can be."]
Adam sighs inwardly at the dramatization of the Balseraphic condition.
Jezreel shudders at the thought and blinks back tears, looking as
lost and confused as a child. But she swallows hard and nods, not willing
to deny the Truth even for her own comfort.
Alicia suddenly realizes how harsh she must be sounding and reaches
out to squeeze Jezreel's shoulder, "You can try to save him... WE
will try to save him... but you cannot lose yourself, Most Holy.
That he seems to have told you the truth, or least part of it,
may indicate that it's not too late."
"Assuming that it isn't a completely delusional fabrication, no," says
Michnelion.
Jezreel sighs, but again nods her acceptance of the facts.
Kalamiel shrugs, "Someone besides the Balseraph
thinks something important is going to happen here. The
full extent of which is still up in the air, though."
"And who might that be?" asks Detective Neelon.
"From what I gathered, at least Phalgus, who serves
Judgement, and Ameretat of Flowers. My lady strongly suggested
that this would be a good place to watch over for now. The
message was relayed by a Seraph in good standing who believes
the situation is urgent."
[The Symphony whispers to Jezreel, "She believes this
to be the Truth and she speaks it because she believes one
shouldn't lie to fellow angels."]
[Charybdis]
Jezreel nods at Phalgus's name and looks a bit relieved. "Phalgus is
my..." Jezreel stops a moment, trying to find a word that really
fits. "Case worker, more or less. I'm supposed to report to him whenever
I have dealings with my father." She explains for the benefit of anyone
who doesn't know him.
Jezreel nods again, giving you a weak smile. "Whatever else," she
tells you, "He love me still. That is the key to his Redemption, I
think..." The hope in her eyes is almost painful.
The Virtue nods, "I think you may be right. As long as he's
strong enough to bear the pain, love may be his salvation.
He's probably watched closely, though, so we should move
with caution."
[The Symphony whispers to Jezreel "She is telling the truth as she knows it because she
wants to help."]
The young Seraph nods. "I'm open to any suggestions you might have," she
says.
"We can talk on it elsewhere. Too much excitement happening
here just now."
"I agree," states the detective.
Jezreel nods her agreement.
She tilts her head slightly to one side, pondering,
"Speaking of which, do we have a trace on whoever did this?" Kalamiel
motions toward the dome.
Jezreel shakes her head. "Not that I'm aware of, but..." She
shrugs turning to Michnelion and Adonikam to see if they have any
additional information.
***
"We're surrounded by police officers, Xery," says the Chief. "And we have
the area sealed off. I think it'll be all right."
The Chief and Xery come over to the circle of angels beside the two trees
and the unconscious body on the ground.
[Charybdis]
[Chris]
[OOGM: Chris, could you please give a phys. desc. of Xery? and the other for
her, too. Sorry. Oh, and note that Xery still smells faintly of sulfur.
:]
[Charybdis]
[Chris]
Xery is about 5'8", of medium build, with vaguely bronze skin, fiery red hair,
and bright green eyes. She's currently wearing camo fatigue pants, combat
boots, an army-green muscle shirt, and a bomber jacket. The obvious completion
to the image is the sunglasses and the motorcycle; the sunglasses are nowhere to
be seen, and the bike is the only one in the parking lot currently - the one
that she /obviously/ /desperately/ wants to get over to.
"Hope I'm not interrupting anything," says the Chief, smiling a bit. "This
is Special Agent Xery, she was the one I waved up to the roof and was then
brought down by our mysterious stranger," he says, looking at Adam at that
last bit.
"Pleased to meet you, Xery," Jezreel says, "I'm Jezreel."
"Mm. I'm - right, you know that. Jezreel? Wow, your parents are twisted."
[OOGM: Ha ha ha, you crack my shit up, Chris.]
Looking somewhat confused, Jezreel says, "No, only my Father is... Mother
is fine."
Xery arches an eyebrow in surprise, and makes a mental note to ask about that
later.
[Xery]
The young Seraph's eyes widen in surprise...
[Xery]
The confusion deepens as Jezreel realizes that Xery hadn't been implying
what she had originally thought.
"What?" she asks. "You don't think you *should* be Xery?" Jezreel shakes
her head as if totally lost by this whole thread. Then, hoping that the
Symphony can help her sort all of this out, she activates her Resonance on
Xery.
[Xery]
[Charybdis]
OOC: No biggie... I really don't think it'll tell her much... But I
figured she had to try... Someone's it really can be fun playing someone
who's clueless...
[OOGM:
[Xery]
"I don't think that's so twisted," Jezreel says, her expression still
definitely confused, as though she knows she's missed something, but she's
not quite sure what. "I don't see anything wrong with a little creative
spelling..."
"Excuse me," says Micnelion, "But we'll have time to discuss the origins of our names later, right now I'd like to stick with the matter at hand."
Looking a little embarrassed, Jezreel says, "Yes, sir... Sorry."
"Pleased to meet you, Xery. I'm Alicia of Flowers, on a
mission from Phalgus of Judgement. I hope you can tell us a little
more about what happened up there."
"Mm. When I'm feeling more intelligent, I think." She looks at the officer
standing next to her. "And when he decides it's okay to talk about things Up
There." The emphasis is obvious.
[OOC: Kalamiel resonates Xery when she gets closer.]
[Kalamiel, Resonance Roll TN=11
"Ow," she agrees.
The pain in Fury's head has been rapidly diminishing, and by now is all but
gone. Must be the fresh night air. Really.
"Just thought I'd make sure we all know each other," says the Chief. "Now
I'd request that all of you remove yourselves from the crime scene so you
can talk about celestial matters while me and the boys clean up here. Ok?"
The question is more of a demand.
"We can go back to the station," suggests Michnelion.
Jezreel nods...
"I know where that is," says Xery, obviously still not fully recovered from the
effects of being bowled over by something that really shouldn't have had that
effect. "Can I drive?" She looks longingly at her motorcycle.
"What about our . . . friend here," asks Adam, nudging the unconscious body.
"I'd like it if we could question him."
Xery almost ALMOST almost stifles a laugh. But it peeps out anyway.
"If I could be there as well, I would apprectiate it, Adam.
I sense that he might turn away from Hell if encouraged properly."
She kneels over him, "I think he has a blood-Need and he regrets
the things it makes him do."
"You... are... /shitting/... me. That guy was...? Jeez. I shoulda known."
Xery kicks something in frustration. It turns out to be remarkably more solid
than she was expecting it to be, and she yelps.
"Hey, careful with those trees, Xery," says Adam, deadpan. "They're pretty tough."
"Hrm, blood need," mutters Michnelion. He say to the Chief, "Might be the perp in the Burnett case."
The Chief nods.
Jezreel takes a deep breath and swallows hard. She's not really sure that
she *wants* to be in on any interrogation of a dammed creature that's being
conducted by two Malakim... On the other hand, she *would* like to know why
the hideous thing is here. "I'll come, if you think I can help at all..."
she offers hesitantly. "I mean with sorting out the Truth and all..."
[Alicia]
Jezreel nods. "I rode with Michnelion," she says, turning to look at
him. "Should we take your car back, sir?"
Michnelion nods. "That should be fine, Jezreel. I'd like to get it to the station and into the interrogation room as soon as possible."
[Adam, strike to the head TN=13+range mod
Adam suddenly bends down and in a single smooth motion, delivers a swift blow to the undead's head. The creature bounces a little and lies still.
Jezreel winces involuntarily at that...
"Ok," says the Chief, "That's it. Everyone get moving, I don't have time for you all to dick around my crime scene all night."
"Right," says Adam, picking up the unconscious body and casually slings it over his shoulder.
The Chief rolls his eyes and waits impatiently.
Michnelion walks quickly over to his squad car, and tools it over to the others. After rolling down the window, "Let's go. Fury, can you take Adam with you on your bike?"
Jezreel walks around to the passenger side of Michnelion's car, open the
door, and climb in. She then buckles her seat belt and waits...
[Charybdis]
"I can ride with him," Kalamiel points at the
Servitor. "If he wakes up, I don't think I'll have
any problems."
"Fine by me," says Adam, "Just don't kill him."
She smiles gamely, "I'll do my best." With unusual
care, she helps get the prisoner into the car, climbs in
next to him and then shuts the door.
He turns and looks at Fury, then to Fury's bike and back at Fury. "Will it fit both of us?"
Fury grins toothily. "Sure will, pardner. Saddle up. Use my helmet, I don't
need it." She walks over and grabs the helmet from the lock, then chucks it at
him.
Adam catches the helmet casually with one hand, slips it on, gives a thumbs up, and joins Fury on the bike.
[OOGM: onto the next scene!!!: Back at the Station]
