Damien's Visitors |
![]() |
Upon returning home, Damien sees that his father's car isn't in the garage. He must not yet be home. But, that wasn't too unusual at this hour.
As Damien entered the house, however, he could feel that there was something terribly wrong. He couldn't place it until he realized that there were a few things out of place. It was just minor things, like Dad's prized flowers on the wrong side of the counter. He hadn't even been home yet, how could they have been moved? Had someone broken in? Goldie's bark sent a chill down Damien's spine. Goldie sounded like she was in pain, that something was terribly wrong. He rushed to where the sound wsa coming from. The bathroom! The door was locked. But, the only lock was on the inside. Confused, Damien stood there, racking his brain, trying to figure out what was going on. Goldie started whimpering pathetically, begging for help. From where he stood, Damien could see that his bedroom door was ajar. Through the crack in the door, he saw the tattered remains of one of his most treasured posters on the wall. Begging that Goldie would forgive him for leaving her, Damien looked into his bedroom. As he approached, he could see even before he got there that everything was a wreck. His stereo was broken in pieces on the floor, all the drawers in his dressers were open, their contents spilled out over the room. The top of his dresser was clear for once as every thing on it had been strewn all over the floor. In fear, Damien looked over to where his computer was. The monitor had a huge hole in it, a little larger than the size of his thumb. The keyboard had been torn in half, completely. The CPU and its case looked as though it had been stredded. The entire situation felt like a bad dream, and Damien felt powerless to do anything about it. Hearing Goldie's whine again, he turned and saw the posters on his wall. They all hung torn, ripped as though by a huge clawed hand, except for one. It had been spray-painted in red: don't come back 666The Devil's number. They knew where he lived. They can come to his house, invaded the sanctity of his home and had trashed his room, and worse than that, they'd done something to his dog, and his computer. |
