Welcome to the Knowledge Corner
You sit in a large room with half a dozen others from the looks of it three are magi, two look like they are planning on hacking everyone up and the last looks like you wouldn't trust him within ten feet of your purse. Even as you watch he seems to be trying to lift the purse of one of the magi.
A loud crack turns everyone's attention to the thief as he withdraws his arm and holds it. He stares at a small middle-aged woman with clear gray eyes who stares back at him evenly.
"Try that again", she says, "and I'll break the other one as well."
The man looks as if to say something, but the appearance of a newcomer throws him off. The newcomer quite literally rises up through the floor. Short and stout this dwarf looks around him with obvious disgust. The holy symbol around his neck marks him as an Elemental priest of Obsidious. The dwarf scowls at everyone until he spots the woman.
A smile almost touches his face before she frowns at him and says, "Don't even think it buster. Now take your seat." She turns and walks to the front of the room and says in a nice friendly voice, "Welcome. In a moment you will be graced by the presence of the greatest mage in the universe. The source of more knowledge that your simple little brains can handle, Master Torkas!" She gestures to the door.
Everyone turns to watch the light from the hallway eclipsed and a giant shadow enters the room. Within moments the owner of the shadow follows and his bulk fills the doorway and he has to bend down a little to enter.
The dwarf quickly gets off to one side and mutters, "No one told me there was going to be an ogre here!"
Master Torkas enters the room and many others recoil in fear. It is not that he is unhandsome it is more because he is as big as a small ogre. The woman shrieks sharply at the dwarf, "Don't you dare insult Master Torkas like that!"
The dwarf leers at her and says, "Ooh, she's got a sharp tongue..."
"Don't say it... she warns dangerously.
"I like that in a woman", the dwarf continues.
The small woman amazingly picks up a nearby desk nearly twice her size and advances on the dwarf. Master Torkas neatly plucks it out of her hands and puts a restraining hand on her shoulder. "It's alright Glynis." His voice deep and smooth. "I'm used to being mistaken for an ogre and the dwarf is just showing that he knows a beautiful woman when he sees one."
Glynis blushes deeply and turns and half bows, "Thank you Master Torkas, if you'll excuse me I'll get started on lunch now." She quickly straightens up and moves quickly out of the room not sparing anyone a second glance.
The thief mutters, "That woman is crazy." He quickly takes a few sips of a blue-green mixture out of clear vial. He shivers briefly and after a few moments, while Torkas puts the desk back, he checks his arm. "Not 100% but I'll be fine." He steadfastly ignores the glares from the dwarf priest and the magus he tried to pickpocket.
Master Torkas turns to face everyone and says, "Welcome! You have come here seeking knowledge of the world around you. Some of the magi in this tower have graciously decided to donate some of their time to enlighten you on various subjects. This information will of course be limited to Atrias inside of Olive Valley. Our resident expert on the world outside of the valley is out on a special mission at the moment and will not be available at this time."
"I, Magus Torkas, shall answer all of your general knowledge questions.
Magus Parawn will be answering your questions on those related specifically to rune magic. Not counting research as our resident expert is also out on a special mission.
Magus Charon will answer any questions dealing with the Orcs."
Magus Lintherm, in the interest of diversity, will share his knowledge of the religious sects.
