What evil creeps in darkness deep
Where fingers of light never reach?
Things of Dark as well as Light
Hide in the shadows of the night.
Who will win to force the other back?
Shattered minds twisted dark
With broken hands claw their mark.
Sharp bladed swords hew heads from shoulders, limbs from bodies
Wailing cries of agony shatter the dark bloody.
Gentle Moon weeps with fright
Where is Sun to banish the night?
Evil gains the winning hand, pressing their attack
The light of Good has grown so dim, they cannot push them back!
Where is the hero?
Where in this fight strides the champion?
Who will defend the light?
The Hero dies, the Dark has won,
The endless night goes on and on.
Light has fled, hope is dead
And Luna weeps tears stained red.
Weep ye of Light!
Dark will find you in your shadows, rip you from your holes!
All hope is abandoned; Dead.
Scream on tortured sleeper.
This night will never end.
