Given by Eric to John and Marlena on their wedding day, July 6, 1999

There are no two people that I know who have overcome so many obstacles to be together as you. No two people who are so connected, so committed, and so very much in love. So in honor of my mother, of who I am very proud of today and always, and to her new husband, who is a wonderful guy and I know who makes her very happy. Let us drink a toast to Mr. and Mrs. John Black, and may you be as joyful, as blessed, and as loved as you are at this moment always.
