This is Mayahem Temple. Take a look at the roughly-drawn map above. The top-left map piece is linked to (2). This is the general layout of the level. Below are directions to get every important item in the level.
Point of Interest #1 - Code Chamber
Jiggies - Top to bottom on the map
#1 | From the level entrance, walk uphill to Mumbo's hut. Inside his hut, pick up the Glowbo in the green pool on the lower level of his house. Go upstairs, give him the Glowbo, and begin controling him. Now, exit Mumbo's hut and retrace your steps to the place between Mumbo's hut and the entrance where you saw a golden statue head. Step on the Mumbo pad nearby. Press 'B' to cast a spell on the statue. It will rise from the ground, and you'll control it. You'll have 75 seconds to use the golden goliath, but this should be plenty of time. As the statue, walk back toward Mumbo's hut. You should see a large, closed door with a skull carved on it. Stand next to it and press 'B' to kick it. The statue will kick a hole in the door. After you've done this, go to entrance again. There is a similar door near it. Kick it open like the first. If you ran out of time before you did this, don't worry. You can try again. If you kicked the first door open before you ran out of time, you won't have to do it again. Once you've done this, return the statue to its original place and press 'B' to control Mumbo again. Take Mumbo back to his hut, and jump onto his chair. You will take control of Banjo and Kazooie again. Walk out of Mumbo's hut. You should have walked near two "Warp pads" so far. If you have, you'll be able to warp between them. They create a network of warps throughout a level once you've found enough of them. If you have, step on the one nearby and press 'B'. Wou'll be able to warp to the entrance. If not, you'll have to walk there. Walk through the door you kicked open. You'll appear in the Jade Snake Grove. Walk straight ahead and you should see a military-style hatch. This is one of Jamjar's hatches. Walk to it and press 'B'. If you have collected enough musical notes, Jamjars will jump out and teach you the "Grip Grab" move. If Jamjars tells you that you don't have enough notes, you'll need to go back outside and find some. Most of the notes in this world are right on the pathes. After you've learned the Grip Grab from Jamjars, go back through the door and to the other on you kicked open, the one that has a hole in it. Through the door is the prison compound. There is a prison straight ahead of you. On the right side of the prison(your right), there is a pond and some ledges. Jump up the ledges and onto the roof of the prison. Across the roof there are slits cut into the rock face. Grab onto the far one using your new Grip Grab move. Move across it and to the far ledge. There are some wading boots on the ledge. Put them on by running into them and cross the nearby quicksand pool. You'll only have a limited time before the boots disappear, so hurry. On a pedestal is your first jiggy of the level. |
#2 | From the entrance, walk through the door you opened while getting the first jiggy. From there, walkforward towards the jinjo and take a right. Ahead and slightly to the right you'll see Humba Wumba's wigwam. Go in, but first collect the Glowbo that is right behind it. Once you're in, talk to Humba. Give her the Glowbo you just found and jump in the pink pool. You'll turn into a stony. Once you've done this, return to the level entrance. Walk uphill to the golden statue that you used while getting the first jiggy. Take a left turn. Straight ahead is a building that is guarded by a tiger. Go talk to the tiger. He'll let you in the building. This is the Mayan Kickball stadium. The stonys downstairs in the training area will tell you how to play. To get the the jiggy, place first in all three rounds of Mayan Kickball. The stony at the far wall of the stadium will tell you where to go to play. When you're ready to try, just talk to him. It may take a few tries, but you'll get it eventually. When you've recieved the prize from the stony that shows you where to go, you can return to Humba Wumba to become Banjo and Kazooie again. |
#3 | From the entrance, warp or go to Mumbo's hut. Go downhill to the skull door with the hole in it, and talk to Jamjars. His hatch is next to the door. You'll learn the Egg Aim move. Go back to Mumbo's hut. Nearby there is a large central temple. Go to it. Next to the temple there is a rope bridge with a jinjo on it. Cross the bridge and talk to the cow who is standing in front of the small building in front of you. Shoot the flies over her field with blue eggs using the move you just learned. If you don't have any, there are some lying around next to the stable behind Bovina the cow. Once you've hit all 4, Bovina will reward you with a jiggy. |
#4 | You won't be able to get this one right off the bat. You'll need to return to Mayahem Temple after you've learned the Bill Drill move from Glitter Gulch Mine. I'll give you instructions to get this jiggy after you've learned the Bill Drill. |
#5 | Across and to the left of the temple at the top of the hill is another temple. It has 6 gargoyles sticking out on the front walls. Use the Egg Aim move to shoot a blue egg into each of the gargoyles' mouths. The door to the treasure chamber will open. Inside you'll meet a fanatic leader of the locals. He's lost an important relic. To recover it, talon-trot up the taller gold pile next to the door, Grip-Grab along the crack overhead in the wall, and climb onto the platform on the other side of the crack. Next, Shock Jump up to the next crack, and climb to the other side of it to a tunnel. Walk up the staircase in the tunnel and step on the switch to open the door. Walk through the tunnel and into Unga Bunga's cave. In the first room you come to, you'll see the relic on a crevasse on your right. Press the control stick very lightly to tiptoe across the red bole pile between you and the relic. If you move too fast, the snoring caveman will wake up and send you out of his cave. You can turn around and try again if he catches you. Once you have the relic, walk through the tunnel behind it and out of Unga Bunga's cave. Once you get out, walk straight ahead and return the relic to Cheif Bloatazin to get a jiggy. |
#6 | Go to the central temple at the top of the hill. Climb to the top of the staircase, but don't go into the temple yet. Staying at the same height, walk around to the back of the temple. There are slopes there, leading up higher. Mount them and pick up an easy jiggy on the giant stone hand. |
#7 & #8 | Go to the level entrance. Walk around the corner near the water. Climb up a series of vines and Grip-Grab cracks to the top of the wall. At the top of the wall there is a Jamjars hatch. Talk to him and learn the Breegull Blaster. Now, go to the temple at the top of the hill. Go inside. You'll move to first person shooter mode. It works just like in the game Goldeneye. Walk around and press 'Z' to shoot. Now, go to the closed door in front of you. Targitzan will open it for you. You'll enter Targitzans Temple. Collect 10 emerald statuettes of Targitzan to enter the Slightly Sacred Chamber. Inside is a jiggy. Leave the chamber and find 10 more statuettes and you gain access to the Really Sacred Chamber. You'll see a jiggy in front of you, but Targitzan, a tall totem pole, will fight you. Boss 2: Targitzan Targitzan will begin spinning and shooting darts at you. To defeat Targitzan, hit the lit targets on him. It'll take 4 hits to destroy his first level. After you do that, Targitzan will send 1 of his cronies after you. Kill him, and Targitzan will begin spinning again. Hit another 4 targets to destroy the next level. He'll send two cronies after you. Hit them, and hit him another 4 times. 3 cronies will come after you, and you'll have to hit 4 targets again. Kill the 4 cronies that attack you, and Targitzan will begin to explode. Hide behind one of the the pieces of stone that stick out of the ground to aviod injury. Finally you'll be able to pick up the jiggy. |
#9 | First, go to Wumba's Wigwam in the Jade Snake Grove. Stnding in front of the Wigwam and facing away from it, take the path that goes right. It leads to a large building, the Code Chamber. Scale the building. On top, Ssslumber the snake is guarding his jiggy. He is surrounded by twigs and leaves. If you step on them, he'll wake up and you'll need to jump off the top of the building for him to fall asleep. Start on the corner near Ssslumber that is clear of twigs. Using the same technique as used to get jiggy #5, tiptoe and pick up the jiggy. Don't worry, Ssslumber won't eat you or anything. He just won't wake up while you're around. |
#10 | Go to Mumbo and control him. Return to the Golden Goliath's resting place and use the Mumbo pad to activate him. Go to the level entrance. You may want to kick the giant boulder near the entrance, so you can get to the flying pad. Go to the nearby door that you kicked open earlier, and go in. Walk forward and take the first left. Walk across the quicksand. On a green island you'll find a jiggy. |
Jinjos - Top to bottom on the map
#1 | If you've already destroyed the boulder on the flying pad near the entrance, use it to take off. Fly to the Mayan Kickball Stadium. On top is a jinjo. |
#2 | Go to Targitzan's temple. Beside it, in the middle of a rope bridge is another jinjo. |
#3 | Go to Targitzan's Temple. Inside, overlooking the entrances to the Sacred Chambers from a ledge, is a jinjo. You'll need to find a secret door and press 'A' to open it to get to it. |
#4 | From the level entrance, go through the large open door nearby. Straight ahead and on a ledge is another jinjo. |
#5 | The final jinjo is underwater in the pool near the level entrance. |
Extra Honeycombs - Top to bottom on the map
#1 | The first empty honeycomb piece is found on top of Bovina the cow's stable. Fly to it. |
#2 | The second one is on top of a pile of gold in the Treasure Chamber. |
#3 | The last honeycomb piece is in a small crevasse right behind the level entrance. You must be a stony to get at it. |
Cheato Pages - Top to bottom on the map
#1 | Like jiggy #4, you'll need the Bill Drill to reach this Cheato page. You'll have to come back later. |
#2 | Go to the top of the Code Chamber Building, where Ssslumber is. On the left side of the temple you'll be able to Grip-Grab the top of the wall. Move across it to a platform. The page is on the platform. |
#3 | Using the flight pad near the level entrance, fly to the roof of the Treasure Chamber. The page is up there. |
Glowbos - Top to bottom on the map
#1 |
The first glowbo is found right behind Wumba's Wigwam. |
#2 | The second Glowbo is in the green pool in Mumbo's house. |
To The Next Level!!!
Once you've done all this, exit Mayahem Temple and return to Jiggywiggy's Temple. He'll have a new puzzle for you to complete. When you finish it, Jiggywiggy will open Glitter Gulch Mine. Now, exit Jiggywiggy temple and go back to the entrance to Mayahem temple in the Isle o' Hags. Next to it there are a series of platforms. Climb them and Grip-Grab the crack above. Move across it to a ledge. Go through the door on the ledge. You'll appear on the Plateau. Go up the boards. Directly in front of you is a crane-like thing. Go to it and talk to Jamjars. His hatch is right next to you. Once you've done that, go to the giant beehive that is nearby. Inside you'll meet Honey B, who will trade you health bar extensions for the empty honeycomb pieces that you find. You should have enough to get an extension from the first level. After that, jump down the hole by the crane thing outside to enter Glitter Gulch Mine...
