The Gray Wolf usually lives in a pack. The Pack is a group of Wolves that travel, live, hunt, breed, and raise their pups together. In a Pack, there can be up to more than 2 dozen Wolves, and as few as 2 Wolves. Although they prefere to live and travel in a pack, Gray Wolves can get along just fine as drifters. Sometimes, though it is VERY rare, a drifter will be accepted into a pack, and treated like it's always been there. Packs are usually started by new adults that leave the pack (see Pups). The wolf travels and finds other drifters, join together, and breed to make the packs larger. The largest pack ever found had 5 generations of Gray Wolves, and had 54 members.
