Episode 1
Episode 1!
The first episode started with character creation, spread out amongst over a month from first to last. We'd been trying to get the game going for a while, and needless to say...the anticipation was mounting!
So...Things get settled down, the rattle of dice tapers off as Kyle finishes his character, and (drum roll) the game begins!
OK, so first off we're arrested. Ok, maybe not arrested, but 'escorted' by royal guards to the temple. We're to undertake a "mission" for the "King". Hrm, maybe the quotation marks aren't nessicary :P
SO...here we are, told to head south to the swamp, to the ruins of an ancient sorcerers underground hideout, to recover any magical artifacts we might find. Um...how often do you find underground structures in a swamp?
Well, we go out that night, find an Inn, get drinks (on the Elf). Serif get's laid. The elf stumbles home drunk, alone. On to the next morning and the journey. By now, Serif's pet rock has driven him half nutty. He's constantly snapping on his rock, threatening to leave him behind, ect. Suddenly (ever notice how everything is "suddenly"? You never see "Gradually, a band of orcs leaps out at you!") the party learns there is another group of travellers in the woods. Time to set an ambush. Gwar plays dead (the stench helps), Serif hides in a tree, and Elfy hides behind a tree. Once the horsemen are in the middle of the trap, Serif incapacitates one with a crossbow shot. The melee is brief, and suprising. Almost instantly they surrender (i.e. on their turn). Turns out, they were just lost travellers looking to get to the Capital to find some traveller who'd knocked up the lead guy's sister. We sent them on a wild goose chase so that, once they could travel again (it would have been a while, so that the nearly-dead guys could travel again), it would take them another week to get there. We'd been travelling for 12 hours (8 one day, 4 the next). Serif felt a lot of sympathy for the guy they were chasing.
Travelling again, the party slogs through thick forest...once more. Night 3, a skeleton wolf suprises the party (well, not really thanks to Mr. Rock) and there's anotehr fight. You've heard "skeleton smash, zombie slash" right? Well, Gwar proved (with a little help from Serif) that "skeleton slash with BIG axe" works JUST as well. Chopped skeleton, anyone?
OK, day 4, the party gets smart. They head west for the river, and proceed to build a raft. Let's be fair here...SERIF built the raft, while the other two stood around and scratched themselves.
