Derrick, while 'networking' with the Sabbat, meets a "crazy catiff" who demands his lineage. They climb up to a rooftop and speak briefly. She want's to know how to get ahold of the Kindred who killed the 6 Sabbat that had been brought to the Prince. After a minimal amount of banter, she agreed to meet him there at 8 the next night. At the end of the meeting, she first displayed the 'Blade Jump' from the rooftop. Trying it himself, Derrik found that, while it's hard to look cool, it's a quick mostly painless way to get down from a height.
Hale and Chakan arrive at the Michigan Underground. Chakan immediately takes off for parts unknown while Hale goes underground to speak to Cackles, Hank, and The Blob. Delivering their payment, Hale dismisses them from service. The Blob informs Hale that she will be moved the following night, and that Mikhail should be on his feet by then.
Travelling to Palos Hills, Hale sets up a watch on the Giovanni Funeral Home for most of the rest of the night. Once he returns to his apartment, he finds that Bea invited Chrissy and Sissy (the other two of his herd) over for the evening, and they'll be staying the night. Bea goes off to bed (still weakened from the attack she recieved) and Hale manages to feed of Chrissy while Sissy plays on Bea's computer.
The Next Night: Thursday
Soon after sunset, Hale recieves a call from ZQ, he will be in Chicago at 11PM. Hale, recieves another call from Derrik, arranging for the three of them to be at the 8 o'clock meeting (with Derrik and Hale arriving 30min early to speak). Once together, the two hear a thud from the building that Derrik had spoken to Carla on top of, and then they see Carla with 'pavement burns' on her face. Carla, the crazy catiff, wanted to start their conversation then, but Derrik put her off until 8, when Claudia showed up.
Finally together, the four spoke briefly. Carla wanted to slaughter the Sabbat, not stake them and turn them in for the bounty. The party had some problems with this, and the meeting turned out to be a waste of Carla's time, though she found out what she wanted to know.
The three go to City Hall at the summons of Samantha, where they meet with the Prince in her Throne Room. The six Sabbat they had brought in last time are displayed behind her throne, impaled on pikes with stakes in their hearts.
The Prince claims to have lost control of Chicago Heights, and also said the several of her agents she had sent there had not returned. How then did the party come and go with impunity? The bounty on the Sabbat has gone up to $15,000 a peice.
Meanwhile, a Settite has come to town.
The meeting with the Prince is disturbed by news of the Sabbat attacking Limbo, Michael Crawford's nightclub. The party heads that way to find out information, try and control the situation, and help cover up the Masquerade.
The Settite presents himself to the Prince, and is given his instructions. He speaks to Samantha and learns his Service will be to deliver three staked Sabbat to Samantha.
The three arrive at Limbo to find Michael has already covered things up (or so they assume). There is a guard on the back door with an M4 and he won't let them in, as he doesn't know them. He tells them to go around front. (None of them will go out front where the Police are, the cowards. It's not like they are wanted or anything. Weapons CAN be put down!). Finally, Claudia hands off her MAC-10's, swallows her pride, and goes around the corner. Michael greets her with the disdain she's come to expect, and they go back behind Limbo when he's finished with the Police.
Michael is upset about the attack, but his friend Shawn Finn is back in town, and with him and his Childe Mike Hogan there, victory was almost assured. Several of the Kine were killed, as well as one of Michael's bodyguards (Joshua) injured. two of the six that had attacked survived, and they had fled the area. Hale, Derrik, and Claudia (in oder of how uch spent) proceed to make Shawn richer than he already is by buying quantities of weapons and ammunition. Shawn grants Hale and (after a while) Derrik 10% discounts on ammunition, and they proceed to purchase most of what Shawn had on him. Derrik buys the double-barreled pump-action shotgun. Hale buys a pair of Glock-22's to replace his Glock-17's (eventually). With lighter wallets and increaded forepower, they finally leave. Claudia heads off to her band's apartment to practice for the rest of the night (practically). They create no new hits, though.
Derrik goes to city Hall, where he picks up Basilisk, the Settite Samantha will have helping Derrik until his Service is completed. Basilisk want's to go to it, get his three Sabbat (and the bounty) quickly. Derrk and he head off to Chicago Heights, calling Hale on the way.
Bea had left Hale's apartment to pick up groceries when Hale returned, so he was alone when ZQ arrived, loaded with equipment and weapons. He showed Hale the alchemichal concotion that will remove the Assamite curse from him (and replace it with the curse from the Revised edition), and gives ZQ leave to spend the rest of the night in his Armory, preparing ofr the ritual. Hale informs Bea not to disturb ZQ, and to make herself scarce the next night (friday night). Recieving the call from Derrik, Hale heads off to Chicago Heights to meet up with Derrik and Basilisk.
In Chicago Heights, Hale, Derrik, and Basilisk meet on the same rooftop, while Derrik tells Basilisk about the possibility of Sabbat being in the bar below them. Basilisk jumps down on top of the bar while Hale tries to come up with a plan. Hale and Derrik follow, and finally, Hale waits on top of the bar while Basilisk oes inside. Derrik takes position leaning against the wall near the door.
Basilisk is confronted by one of the Kine patrons of the bar, ridiculing his sword. Basilisk engages the mortal, slicing him in half. Two kindred in the back of the bar move forward at this point, and they get Basilisk outside while two of their buddies come around from the sides of the bar. In the ensuing fight, one of the Sabbat is killed while the other three are staked. Basilisk takes greivious wounds, but shows off some nifty powers of Serpentis, shrugging off even the worst damage. It will be several nights before Basilisk is up to full health.
Returning to City Hall, these three deliver the bodies, Samantha informing Basilisk that he's completed his service in record time. Basilisk goes off to buy some drugs, and Derrik and Hale contrive to get Claudia away from her apartment. Unknown to either of them, she isn't at her apartment. Hale breaks in, searches for new music, and finds none. Claudia spends a great deal of the rest of the night with Derrik, composing better songs that she had with her band. Hale returns to his haven late, knowing he'll be busy the next night.
The night ends, along with the game session, Friday morning at 5:09 AM.
