Brujah: The rabble hold no solid teritory in Chicago. They have no formal orginization, and meet only when a sizable number of Brujah happen to be in the same place at the same time. The Primogen is a Brujah who can say "I'm Primogen" and live to boast about it. Since none of the Anarchs care, this title is held by an Idealist elder named Critias. Critias is without a doubt the strongest and eldest of the Chicago Brujah, indeed, he is among the eldest in the city. Still, his power over the other Primogen is limited, as his influence in the city is mostly in the realm of the Academic.
Although Critias holds a seat in the Primogen's Council, his power is being challenged, even if he doesn't know it. At a Rave recently, Michael Crawford soundly trounced several local Brujah, soundly beating them in tests of battle. The resultant rise of respect and the ability to call in one favor from the Assamite Hale is giving him thoughts about challenging Critias for the rulership of the clan. Critias is an ancient vampire, though, and Michael knows this. Combatting a Kindred that much your senoir is often a quick trip to the Final Death. Will Michael risk going that far? Or perhaps he means to use political means to challenge the Elder. Then again, any Kindred surviving more than a handfull of nights learns the ins and outs of Kindred politics, and Critias has been around for considerably longer than a handfull of nights. If Michael intends to reach the top of the pack here in Chicago, he'd better have some staunch allies.
Gangrel: The gangrel are long-time supporters of who they think the Prince really is. The Ventrue "ice-queen" opens up slightly to the Gangrel, and relishes in wild out-door 'hunts' with the outlanders. This is merely a ruse, but it has served to bring one of the most formidable clans behind her. The Gangrel have one Primogen firmly in place, and should be recieving another representative shortly, as payment for a boon they did for the Prince. A new member of the clan has arrived in Chicago. This Derrik is well respected by his clanmates, and is an Elder among them. He may be right on time to gain the other Primogen seat, but without being under the Prince's thumb, he may well be out of the running. Still, the Prince needs to choose someone who will be ratified by the clan, and Derrik is the most popular. Will another choice be ratified by the Gangrel, or will the Prince be forced to put into place a Primogen who is not under her thumb?
Assamites: The dreaded Assamites have arrived, with one representative being installed in the city, at the service of the Prince, and there are roumors of others in the city. While one of these roumored Assamites has been found, rescued, and sent on his way, who else might be out there in the night?
MaLkAviaN: The grandest Prank of all time has been played out, and the Malkavian's are estatic. They kidnapped the Prince from City Hall, staking all of the guards and the Prince herself (though several Malkavian were severely wounded in the fray) and relayed to her their proof of Sabbat being in the city. For not only the sucess of their coup, but the manner it was pulled off in, the clan has recieved a great deal of Prestige for this. What do you think a bunch of Malkavians are going to do in a town where they're greatly respected? Watch out for an increased number of Pranks!
Toreador: The recent release of Annabells 'Childe' has stirred things up amongst the Artistes, and has resulted in a clash between Claudia of some 80's fame, and the Brujah Michael, who had been Annabelle's original choice of Childe. The tension between these two licks has erupted into a Challenge, a rare thing for a non-Toreador to accept. Shortly, at Esylum, Claudia and Michael will be in a contest to see who is the better musician. Hell is Waiting is popular with the Chicago Toreador, but this contest will be judged by the assembles Primogen and the Prince. This looks to be the largest social event for the city Kindred in the near future.
Now there are two more newcomers in the city. Johnny Quickfingers will be opening his nightclub "The Embrace" on Friday, and roumors are spreading that a Toreador Archon is in town.
Tremere: The warlocks are up to something. They're acting way to satisfied with themselves of late. The warlocks of Chicago are a standofish bunch. The only one who does socialise is Regent Fossy. The Regent is well aware the suspicion associated with his clan, he uses that fear as a tool. It is rumored that several Tremere-antitribu are in town with the Sabbat. While roumors are notoriously unreliable when speaking of the Tremere, it is almost certain that another Thurmaturgy-using Kindred is in the area. Who is this unknown sorcerer?
Nosferatu: The sewer rats hide beneath the city, in every nook and crany. A clan with the ability to hide from all eyes knows all the secrets. Don't ask weather or not they know something, ask how much it will cost you to get the information. A recent attack by the Giovanni have bruised the clan, but far from humbled them. They are increasing their defences, and several Kindred seeking them out for information have been unable to get through to their sources. The main contact left, for those who know her, is The Blob. This immobile Nosferatu is a cunning and sublte player, though. She has managed to get the Assamite Hale to hire bodyguards for her, and her army of rats serves her well. Is the route to her haven still safe? Or has she set up traps as many of the others have? And what's the beef between the Giovanni and the Nosferatu anyhow? What would make the clan break their centuries-old doctrine of non-interference?
Ventrue: The blue-bloods run Chicago the way Al Capone used to. In fact, he still does control a large portion of his old territory. Many of his most trusted Lieutenants were embraced as well, and his gang set up shop pretty much the same way they had been. They've adapted to the times though. Instead of pettling hooch, they deal drugs, controling a large portion of the traffic in Chicago. The city seems filled with newcomers these days, and the Ventrue are getting edgy. With their wealth, not much can penetrate a blue-bloods defences, but fear and chaos make the stock market do unpredictable things. And the Sabbat are very good at creating fear and chaos.
Giovanni: Not much is known about the Giovanni in Chicago, other than they are here. And not too many know even that. Why did they hire Brujah to hit a military convoy? Why didn't they use their own goons? Why, and how, did they get the Tremere to set up the smokescreen, if indeed they were responsible? What do they plan to do with a shipment of night-vision gear? There are more questions than answers.
Lasombra: Who are these shadow-masters and why are they here? This is another clan not much is known about, other than 'they are here'.
Tzimisce: The flech-crafting Bishop of the local Pack has made herself not one but two enemies, of Assamites of all things. She's either very stupid, or very brave.
Catiff: The clanless are nothing but unmarrered rabble, right? Well there sure are a lot of these unmannered rabble around these days! Current estimates number the clanless to be equal to any of the clans, and quite possibly more than double several clans in number. This is too large of a force to be left unmanaged, but who can bring them under their thumb? There is only one place in the world where the Catiff have been brought under one flag, and have been recognised (though unwillingly) as a clan of their own. In Dallas, Shawn Finn, the arms dealer, has accomplished this feat. Can his grand experiment be duplicated? And who has the Charisma, the power, and the vision to gather them in and lead them?
The clanless have taken horrendous losses recently, and now are even more scattered than before. Who is this 'Eldest of the young' Carla, and what is her agenda?
Who else is there? Well there's:
