Twinsen quietly but quickly made progress up the island’s steep bank. He had already decided that using any weapons would make too much noise, more noise than he could afford to make so he stole up behind the leader. Drawing back his foot, his heart was pounding away. . . .crunch! The shaky foot made perfect connection with the back of the leader’s head. On seeing his family so close to freedom Twinsen became an enraged beast, kicking and punching wildly in all directions he threw the thugs around the island top. In the madness he saw one of the thugs level a pistol at Zoe’s head and heard his target scream out loud. This startled the thug and made him hesitate, hesitate for just long enough for Twinsen to throw a rock in his direction and injure his leg. The bullet broke the surface of the water behind Zoe with a splash. Quickly reloading the thug was open to attack. Twinsen dived at him and starting punching left and right, left and right. The leader came round just enough to bash Twinsen over the head with his pistol. His men moved in and held the mad quetch at gun-point.
"Search him, get the Book of Bú and let’s get out of here." Even the fuming Twinsen could do nothing to stop them from taking the Book of Bú. As soon as they started to run for the rocks and their speedboat Twinsen took up the chase. Will bullets ricocheting off the rocks close the his head the blue clothed monster ran head long towards the thieves. Hurriedly starting the engine the thugs sped off leaving Twinsen and his family stranded on the island. He made his way back to the top to comfort his family.
