Game History

Alais grew up in a normal middle class family. She was a tomboy and tended to get herself and her followers into all sorts of scrapes, often coming home late, dirty and exhausted but triumphant from a day of playing 'Duke of the Hill' or 'Sith and Jedi'.

As she grew older, the games she played grew rougher and her old friends were replaced by new ones more willing to take chances.

Through some of them Alais was introduced to a secret society, a coven of sorcerors secretly worshipping some of the darker powers through meditation and ritual sacrifice. They initiated Alais, bound her to them by sacrificing a kidnapped little girl, and began teaching her to use some of her innate Force abilities. Alais enjoyed sneaking out at night to meet them, but became uncomfortable when they realized her potential was stronger than theirs and they began trying to dominate and control her.

She broke away from the group, and with assistance from a Lightsided hermit successfully repulsed their efforts to Force her back. Nominally freed of their influence, she appeared to revert back to ?normal' attitudes and more benign pursuits, much to her parents' relief.

In reality, Alais had no intention of giving up her newfound horizons. For her parents' sake she conformed to the appearance of a rather preppyish last year student while at night she continued studying what she had been taught by the coven, augmented by what information she was able to find in computer libraries. Knowing the coven was still a threat to her, however remote, she concentrated primarily on the fastest techniques of gaining power.

Her first experimental victim was her prom date on their way home. Although her technique was lacking, she was able to establish a basic mental link sufficient to influence his actions. On future dates the link was reinforced and buried as her control improved. They 'broke up' and she ensnared two others before the summer was out.

One night Alais took them to the woods and sacrificed a newborn. Drawing off the power focused by the ritual in their minds, she attacked the coven. One by one her enemies' minds were reduced to babbling senility and Alais was free.

She went away to college a month later and was drawn to acting. She didn't like the idea of toiling for years in poverty establishing herself [no matter how talented everyone told her she was] and took a minor in politics while she sought the answer to just what DID she want to do?

Four years later her teachers were disappointed when, having graduated, she refused several job offers and then died a few months later in an accident, her vehicle plunging out of control and over the protective barriers into the turbulent river that ran in a ravine far below.

Her body was never found, but a similar, well publicized incident had happened the year before and searchers knew not to hold out hope. After a due period of time, the case was closed and her family's insurance company paid out on the surprisingly large policy she had taken out on herself several months earlier.

Alais emerged from hiding and used the money to finance extensive cosmetic surgery and research into Lord Darth Vader's family geneology and personal history. Five months earlier at a Conference at Port Lansing Vader had declared himself Emperor and disappeared to gather backing.

Known to have several by-blows scattered throughout his past, Alais decided the fastest way to privelage was to be thought his daughter. *Eris Talga* appeared a month later.

She influenced genetic tests conducted under the auspices of the Diplomatic Embassy and buttressed her claim with the story of a deathbed confession from her 'mother'.

Vader acknowledged her claim as within possibility and Ens went to live with her 'father'.

Eventually seeing that Palpatine would triumph over Vader she took a shuttle intending to defect to the Emperor Palpatine. The shuttle crashed and Eris was believed dead.

Upon leaving the hospital she forged new credentials and went to Coruscant where she took a job as a courier, planning to study the Court before setting up her next identity.

She came to work regularly for Tara Alderson and Tara decided to make use of her trustworthiness. Alais became Tara's body double. To further the impersonation, she began to work closely with Tara, doubling as bodyguard or courier as Tara needed, and even consenting to Force training in order to match Tara's Force signature.

World Notes:

-- Character played in the Star Wars roleplay group, Cantina Roleplayers Guild .

FoE (Forces of the Empire) is a Star Wars role-playing group set in the ROTJ era more or less. The Emperor survived the Death Star II as did Vader who lapsed back to the Dark Side. The Alliance now controls a swathe of territory and the galactic civil war continues.

The club was begun way way back before the pre-quels and the two Sith rule but otherwise has incorporated much of these additional movies.
