This the year Yamaha blows away & dominates the pro classes, minimizing Sea-Doo's to only pro sport & pro am runabout titles. This year also saw the rise of a new freestyle king upsetting the crowd favourite Rick Roy.

The Skat-Trak World Finals determines the World Champion. Overall closed course results are determined at the Skat-Trak World Finals by adding the finishing positions from each moto together.
