You must try and use the weapons at your disposal in the best possible way - or at least to the most devastating effect.
X-COM: UFO Defense 1163636 bytes
Baldies 747991 bytes Back by popular demand, and even better than before! You can take control of the world with your armies of little fat bald men in this more advanced demo from Gametek.
Dark Colony 11246489 bytes Dark Colony is a futuristic real-time strategy game based on a war between a gray alien race and humans over the planet Mars. You must choose between the grays' superior genetic technology and the humans' advanced robotics and cybernetics. To claim total victory, you must exploit Mars' hidden resources, and unlock the dark secrets of its ancient alien race.
Earth2140 16412930 bytes A real-time strategy game similar to Command & Conquer, here's what Interplay has to say:Experience life in 2140AD: two warring factions battle for the last remaining resources on the planet. High tech weaponry and superior firepower are the new tools of diplomacy. Only one side will triumph, and only one person can determine which side it will be. Sitting at the helm of the most advanced tactical interface, you will decide which side to support, you will decide which troops come home alive, and you will decide if humanity survives to the year 2141.
Command and Conquer 9403326 bytes
This game includes three missions. In each mission you control the GDI (Global Defense Initiative) troops and you have to defeat the Brotherhood of Nod's troops. To do this you use a point and click interface from a bird's eye view perspective.

Outpost2: Divided Destiny 11966642 bytes When the box containing a review copy of Sierra's OUTPOST 2 arrived at ANT H.Q., a shudder reverberated throughout my system as I was forced to relive my deeply repressed memories of the original Outpost. Known as perhaps the buggiest release in the history of the strategy genre, the original Outpost was a turn-based game that had an interesting premise, but proved to be virtually unplayable in its original form. To say the least, I was not looking forward to my encounter with the spawn of this notorious beast. I'm happy to report that my fears were almost totally unfounded. My nervousness began to gradually subside when OUTPOST 2 installed seamlessly on my Pentium 133, and I am happy to say that during the entire duration of my playtesting, I did not encounter a single bug (except for the robotic spiders and scorpions that populate the planet's surface). The game itself is a real-time strategy/resource management title that gives you the chance to assume command of a human colony on a harsh, forbidding new world. And when I say "harsh," I mean "HARSH." Unlike C&C: RED Alert, a similar real-time game, OUTPOST 2 forces you to deal with a litany of natural disasters such as earthquakes, volcanoes, electrical storms, and the dreaded meteor. Gameplay is divided into two different types: Campaign games and Colony games. In the Campaign game, you work your way through a series of missions (which you can play at one of three difficulty settings) as the leader of either the Eden or Plymouth colonies. These two colonies have similar though distinct units and technologies, much in the same way as the Allies and Soviets do in RED ALERT. The Colony game is roughly analogous to RED ALERT's skirmish mode, in which you are able to build your resources and units as you see fit, dealing with whatever enemies and disasters come your way. The graphics are good, but I didn't think they were quite up to the standards that have been set by RED ALERT. They do look MUCH better if you make sure the "show shadows" option is checked under graphical preferences. The sound effects were also good, but I found the music to be extremely annoying, and was forced to disable it within minutes of starting my first tutorial. Speaking of the tutorials, 12 of them are included as a nice way to get your feet wet in the colony management business. They were simple, effective, and got me up to speed in less than an hour's time. The resource management aspect of OUTPOST 2 is much more in-depth than games like RED ALERT, with research, moral, and even recycling playing an important role in successful campaigns. OUTPOST 2 can be played against the computer AI, or against up to 5 other people via SIGS (Sierra's online gaming center), modem, or local network. If you liked RED ALERT, but want to try a game that requires a little more strategic planing, OUTPOST 2 is a good bet.

Duke Nukem 3D The premise is quite simple - aliens have invaded the Earth and you, Duke, must put a stop to them. You will fight them in places like L.A., a space station, and on the moon. The game features the standard wide variety of bad-ass weapons typically found in games like this, plus innovative new ones such as pipe bombs, a miniaturization weapon, a hologram generator like Schwarzenegger used in Total Recall, and laser trip wires.
Eclipse Map(Duke Nukem 3D) "Ok..imagine this...The starship has been taken over by unknown aliens. Unluckily, the aliens then piloted the ship to Earth and plan to destroy it ! All millitary forces have been called in to help destroy the ship but it will take a week before they will be orginized to strike. Now... Quake v1.06: The Beginning THE STORY (Yes, there is one!) You get the phone call at 4 a.m. By 5:30 you're in the secret installation. The commander explains tersely, "It's about the Slipgate device. Once we perfect these, we'll be able to use them to transport people and cargo from one place to another instantly.
"An enemy codenamed Quake, is using his own slipgates to insert death squads inside our bases to kill, steal, and kidnap..The hell of it is we have no idea where he's from. Our top scientists think Quake's not from Earth, but another dimension. They say Quake's preparing to unleash his real army, whatever that is.
"You're our best man. This is Operation Counterstrike and you're in charge. Find Quake, and stop him ... or it ... You have full authority to requisition anything you need. If the eggheads are right, all our lives are expendable.."

7th Legion "Centuries of overpopulation and reckless consumption had brought the Earth's ecosystem to the brink of collapse. Radical, panic- induced laws restricting reproduction and fuel use came too late to stem the tide of decay and pollution that was rapidly drowning the planet. In desperation, governments and private corporations set up a Planetary Evacuation Program. But with limited room aboard the evacuation shuttles, only the most priviledged segment of society was able to secure exit passes - leaving millions behind to perish. Now, centuries later, the Chosen are returning. They are in for a rude welcome home..."
ExileII: Crystal Souls For many years, the Empire dealt with its misfits, its loudmouths, its petty criminals in one way:it teleported them down into Exile, a network of enormous caverns and twisty tunnels stretching for hundreds of miles under the surface of the Earth. There, the banished humans fought, worked, and struggled to survive. Then they struck back. With the help of several banished wizards, they assassinated the emperor of the Empire. In return, the Empire invaded Exile, teleporting down a massive army of well-trained soldiers and mages. These troops are now marching through your homeland, destroying everyone and everything they find. If something isn't done, you are all doomed. The question is, will someone step forward who is smart enough, strong enough, and just plain good enough to stop the forces decimating your land?
