The Moves |
- These guys are by far the most annoying and yet the most helpful of all creatures in the game.
- They can be heard coming a mile off (well, at least a screen off). Their mechanical legs make an annoying sound that you will become very familiar with after many hours of playing the game.
- They can walk, run, and swing around in sheer confusion.
- The sligs cannot jump or creep around like Abe.
- They love to beat up the innocent mudokon workers. They are cruel and vindictive buggers - so don't upset them. They may just take it out on your poor buddies instead.
- They love to shoot off their guns. They will fire at anything and very rarely give warning. See the shells bounce to the ground as they reel off a few rounds.
- Once "possessed", a slig can be used for many tasks. Press 'Z' to fire the gun and 'X' to use it to whack a creature.
- They can also pull levers and use some devices... but mainly they just parade around and harrass the workers. Press Ctrl to pull a lever or activate an object, while possesing a slig.
- The most entertaining action is when you annoy them with a chant and they go nuts - running back and forth and screeching.

Communication |
- The sligs are very noisy. They will communicate with most creatures and devices.
- There is a security door, in the latter stages, that the sligs need to talk to in order to gain access. They have a set of GameSpeak options, just like Abe, but you'll have to figure them out.
- Some will often say "hi" to you, but others just yell "Freeze" before spraying you full of lead. By pressing '1' you can get your possessed slig to say "hi".
- The sligs will often order their loyal pets to "get 'em", whereby the slog will run off to grab hold of the nearest mudokon meat. When possessed, pressing '3' will make the slig yell "get 'em". The slog can be used against the other sligs. Press '2' to say "here boy" to get your pet to return to you.
- The sligs love to spray bullets around without warning, even if your little pals are nearby. When using a slig for an attack, press '7' to first yell "look out" to tell the scrubbers to duck so you can shoot over their heads. Remember the goal is to save the mudokons, not shoot them to pieces - that's left for the sligs.
- The other silly sounds include: '4'-"Freeze", '5'-laugh, '6'-silly chirp, '8'-the slig raises his arm and makes a funny noise (for what reason I do not know, but I don't speak Slig). Pressing the Space bar will cause the slig to also raise his arm and throw out a louder screech.
- If you attempt to pull a lever and you are not correctly placed, or if you just decide to press Ctrl for fun, the slig will exclaim "what?".

Surviving |
- The sligs are fairly easy to escape from - but don't get caught between two.
- They are very noisy, so you should be able to hear them coming. You must always listen out for them.
- If you accidentally run or walk onto a screen where there is a slig, you have a few options. If you have to be on that screen to escape an invader chasing you from behind, then keep running and try and grab a ledge above. If you do not need to be there, back out quickly and run the other way. If the slig saw you, he will follow you.
- The sligs don't have the smelling ability of the slogs, so you can hide pretty easily on the same screen if you can find somewhere to make yourself invisible.
- The best form of defense is attack. Possess a slig and go hunting.
- By timing the levers just right you can normally quickly dispose of a slig.
- They will also follow you into a room of bombs and they don't stop well. Try and get them to slide to their destruction.
- Always get along with your other slig guards, when possessing a slig. They will not attack you unless they feel a danger. Saying "Hi" normally sets the right atmosphere.
- Never shoot spasmodically - you may hit a mudokon. Keep that gun by your side (your finger away from the 'Z' key) until it's needed.
- In your adventures through the factory, if you come across a mudokon that you never got along with, or that bullied you, feel free to possess a slig and give the worker a few bashings (press 'X'). It will not kill him and may release some of Abe's stress if he hasn't killed anything for a while.

Tips and Tricks |
- Listen always. If you can hear the clicking, mechanical sound associated with their walking it means they are nearby. If you cannot find them to the left or the right, then maybe they are below. You can't see a way down? Ahhhh, maybe it's a secret area!
- Possess, Possess, Possess. The best way of surviving is to grab every slig you can and use him.
- You cannot always possess the slig - but you can sure get them annoyed and running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Can you use that somehow?
- Note that even if Abe takes the ZAP from the security (anti-chant) orbs, he will not die. Maybe the first part of the chant is enough to achieve your purpose.
- Use the slogs to attack the other sligs and run ahead of you.
- You can hide in the shadows, be they large ones where you can stand, or little shadows that you will have to crouch to fit into.
- Do not aways be so keen to destroy your slig. Check out all the areas first. If you have just rescued some mudokons, and solved a puzzle but then realized you need the slig you just killed to continue, then guess what... you may as well jump off the nearest ledge or walk into a meat grinder because you'll have to do it again.
