“Niamh Callayr” (now Oleson) is the Titanian name of a character I had (briefly) run in a different campaign, and which I subsequently dropped out of. She was designed as a somewhat fragile girl of mysterious and uncertain parentage; that last was where she got the sorcery from. After blowing all the crockery up in the kitchen of her mom’s inn, she was given the indirect impression that maybe she should make herself scarce, and rushed to catch up with two (very) recently-departed adventurers, and that’s how she started. She loves Dugal and Mae like the two elder siblings she never had, and holds a place for them in her heart as big as the place reserved for her husband Pellerind and her younger siblings Ran and Sean (though they might not see it).

Dugal McAlister: Sometimes, its scary how similar these two are. Dugal’s boundless enthusiasm is infectious, and Niamh usually goes along with a wary “Okaaay...” to make sure he doesn’t hurt himself. Niamh can easily be as mischievious as Dugal, but usually plays against his wild imagination. She’s still largely unwilling to admit that she initially needed his help for her own rotection, and has worked hard learning the way of the sword to assert herself more as...herself.

Mae: The older sister Niamh never had is hardly to be underestimated, if only because, more times than Niamh can count, Mae has managed to save the day with a “special” item she “forgot” she had. Mae’s devotion to her friends is admirable, and her tendency to think things through truly more often than Niamh and Dugal combined and has become the voice of reason to Niamh’s way of thinking.

Niamh is a Sorceress 7/Fighter 2/Bladesinger 3. Originally, she was designed as the party spell- slinger, but the closer quarters she initially preferred had the disturbing tendency of landing her in the dirt on a frequent basis. As a result, she learned the art of bladesong as a way of “toughening up,” but she’s still pretty fragile. She does try and pull her weight, however, and her favored personal tac-nukes (Fireballs) have come in handy more than a few times.
