Geography:
Atlantis is covered entirely by water. Underwater, however, there are numerous mountains, crevasses, and landmarks. No surface-dweller knows much about the underwater geography. The depth of the water on Atlantis is roughly sixty meters at most places, but at deep crevasses, can be far, far deeper.
Artificial Structures:
Atlantis is well known for its sweeping castles and highrise palaces. Made mostly of coral, the palaces have a look of the sea itself, the top half of these structures looking like cresting waves. The surface part of these structures are larger than they look (possibly because there are no other landmaks to compare to), mainly this is to give the surface-dwellers a place to stay when they stay on Atlantis.
Climate:
Atlantis is mostly tropical, and stays warm from Iceflow to Blue Banner. For some reason, in Glassglow, the surface of Atlantian waters freeze for a few meters down. While this provides a suitible land mass for surface-dwellers to walk across, it effectively cuts Atlantis into upper and lower halves for the duration of the month. The rest of the sea temperature drops by a few degrees. Sea elves underwater are in no danger from this freeze. The cold is uncomfortable, but not dangerous.
Politics:
Atlantis keeps open relations with the other discs. Ambassadors are freely welcomed, and have comfortable rooming in the wavecrests of several palaces. A few adventurous ambassadors travel beneath the depths accompanied by an Atlantian wizard.
Atlantis is on fiendly relations with most discs, neutral relations with Mayador and Omnipodia, and is - like most other nations - at the brink of war with Gothicallis.
Trade:
Corals, pearls, and exotic fish are Atlantis' cheif exports. The bubbleworth clam is a favoured export to wealthy merchants, who enjoy the animals tricks. Atlantian coral is known for its vivid colour and durability, and at least ten other nations have been known to import it. The Royal Lord's Palace of Arrex is fashioned almost entirely out of Atlantian Blue Coral.
Zoology:
Atlantis has several dozen unique species of sealife. A few deserve special attention, and are detailed below.
Bubbleworth clams are small (3 inch) clams with and offwhite shell. When a light is shone on them, they will open and close rapidly, campering about, blowing bubbles, and making a lot of noise. Their actions vary on the intensity and colour of the light. They make great pets.
Grey Anemonae are tall, plantlike creatures that stick to the ocean depths. Grey anenonae are adept at catching water breathers, and then secreting a fuild which clogs up its prey's gills, suffocating it. A full grown grey anemonae can grow twenty feet tall.
Swordsharks are six foot long fish with another three feet of nose. The nose of a swordshark is razor sharp, and is the fish's favoured method of attacking. They swim in packs of up to fifty, but lone swordsharks are known to search the ocean depths alone. When a young sea elf comes of age, they must go out, and with a single weapon of their choice, slay a swordshark and bring the serrated nose back home.
Botany:
There are no plants on Atlantis, the ocean floors are devoid of seaweed. The sea elves however, being true elves at heart, have taken trees from their kin on Asigaru, and the surface half of their palaces is lish and green with forestry.
