A slayath is born when a noble race is exposed to dark magical eddies. A slayath begins to grow inside the creature, bursting out after three days, killing the host. A slayath inherits all memories and knowledge from its host, so it comes into the world with lethal potential. Once it has found a weapon, a slayath is almost invincible. A slayath raised by myddraal is typically equipped with (and is specialized in the use of) a ten foot long blade that deals 1d10 damage to small and medium creatures and 3d6 damage to large creatures. It gets two attacks each round, one in the fast phase, the other in the slow phase.

Combat: A typical slayath has weapon mastery in the use of the blade which is detailed above. It has two attacks per round, and gets +3 to hit (making its THAC0 8 when wielding the weapon), and gets +3 to damage. It can make the following combat options: Blocks, Called Shots, Disarms, Overbears, Pulls/Trips, Saps, and Unhorse.

A slayath may also give up one sword attack per round to make a bite attack. The bite deals 2d4 points of damage, and injects type C poison, which deals another 2d4 damage if the victim saves, and 25 damage if the victim fails.

Habitat/Society: Slayaths are born in one of two different places. Either the host has been contaminated and brought back into myddraal hands so the slayath can be raised in a contained environment, or the slayath will be born in another society once its three-day gestation period is up. The second way is much more dangerous, for the slayath and for the society in which it is born. Slayaths inherently know their place in the Gothicallis Army, and need not be trained, but a slayath born far away from myddraal will not have access to a fitting sword. The slayath's attempts at finding its weapon are almost as deadly as if the slayath already has one.

Although they are typically elevated to positions above myddraal, slayaths greatly respect their allies, and the myydraal return this mutual respect. Direction is never used except in cases of emergency.

Ecology: Slayaths have a mortality rate of above 80%, so slayaths are rare at best. When it comes to pure deadliness, a slayath is equally dangerous as part of a myddraal raid or loose in a city.

It is rumoured that the myddraal have attempted to grow slayaths without living hosts in an attempt to improve survival rate. All efforts so far have led to the slayath going mad and the subsequent deaths of all myddraal involved.
