AT THE BUZZER
The sound of the announcer
As he calls out my name.
I feel overjoyed
When I'm playing this game.
The sound of the crowd,
The cheers and the screams.
They root for our players
With the chant, "Let's go team!"
The sound of my sneakers
As they glide across the floor,
I stop, pivot, shoot...
At the buzzer, I SCORE!!
The deafening silence,
How it flows through my ears.
The game is now over.
Now I sit here in tears.
