SUB: Allison Marie Jacobs.
INT: Are you aware that this conversation is recorded?
SUB: Yes.
INT: Are you aware that you have the right to an attorney present?
SUB: Yes.
INT: What was your relation to Dr. Harry Heublein?
SUB: I was the intake nurse at Mercy Hospital's ER. He was the resident ER doc. INT: How long did Dr. Heublein work at that hospital?
SUB: About three years - he came aboard the same time I did
. INT: What branch of medicine did he practice?
SUB: Internal medicine, but his first love was always kids. That's why he was doing a peds rotation when he... had his accident.
INT: Peds?
SUB: Pediatrics.
INT: Thank you. Now, I'm going to have to ask some more personal questions about Dr. Heublein. Is that all right?
SUB: Go ahead.
INT: Can you think of any reason why someone would have held a grudge against Dr. Heublein?
SUB: No, he was always a very nice guy - that's why he was so good with kids.
INT: Can you think of anything that someone would come after him for? Did he have a large mortgage, large debts, anything like that?
SUB: He never mentioned that kinda stuff at work.
INT: Did he ever mention anybody that had a grudge against him, or had threatened him in the past?
SUB: Well, there was that whacko that came in here a few months ago. Hypothermia case, woman was cold as an icicle when she got in here. First thing she does when she wakes up, is start complaining about her room, the food, the docs, everything.
INT: What was the patient's name?
SUB: I don't remember exactly. Henson, Hansen, Hendricks, something like that, but don't quote me on it.
INT: What specifically did she complain about?
SUB: ::laughing:: Everything. She complained that she didn't have a private room, complained that the food wasn't exactly gourmet cooking, but hey, it's hospital food - what'd she expect?, complained that she didn't have the best doctors in the five-county area working on her, you get the picture. Then, it gets even better.
INT: Please continue.
SUB: She gets out of here, gets on the horn with her attorney and starts this God-almighty lawsuit against the hospital. Says she got lousy treatment, wants to sue for malpractice.
INT: Why?
SUB: Who knows? Like I said, she was a squirrel to begin with.
INT: That should be it for now. Thank you for your time.
SUB: No prob.
