Firedeath is one of the oldest surviving dragons on Nalkak. The only dragon that is older then him is the gold dragon Thoughts Ever Ascending. With most creatures, great age has seen a wearing down of the edge that drives them on during their younger years. However with Firedeath this has not been the case, if anything the dragons great will and presence have made him determined to stave off the looming specter of his own death. To survive, the red wyrm has taken to studying and using various necromantic and chronological magics. With these magics Firedeath hopes to increase his lifespan while avoiding an undeath status that he considers an insult to all dragonkind.

Firedeath makes his lair in the eversmoke mountains. Somewhere within the volcanoes is an ancient fire giant castle. It is within this castle that Firedeath has made into a fortress for his own glory. While he considers undeath as an insult towards dragonkind, towards other races he feels it is a fitting revenge for all the pain they have caused him. His castle is almost crowded with skeletons, zombies, and lesser undead. Most of these were created by Firedeath from the bodies of the foolish who have come after his legendary horde. The others, including a skeletal warrior, just showed up. The skeletal warrior takes his orders from the dragon and then passes along those orders to the lesser undead. His main orders are to keep the castle secured from all attackers, for Firedeath has promised to scatter the skeletal warriors bones across both the great and ice seas if he is ever disturbed in his lair.

When Firedeath grows bored he will sometimes take flight and attack the largest thing near the castle. Wither this is a monster of some sort, a giants home, or a dwarven caravan is entirely up to the dragon. These forays often only serve to increase both his horde of undead and treasure.

His treasure is kept in a room under the castle. This room is guarded, both physically and magically, very heavily. All of his guards are skeletons that have been modified magically to be much stronger then normal skeletons. The magical protection of the room consists both of modified stonework and numerous wards that are known to cancel any controlling magics
