INTRODUCTION
Let it be known that this story takes place DIRECTLY after the ending of Ocarina of Time. We will not spoil much else about the game's ending, for we do not want to spoil it for anyone that has not yet finished the game (yes, we DO know some people who haven't finished it yet). Just know that this story takes place then.

Zelda, Princess of Hyrule stood atop her stoop in the Hyrule Castle Courtyard. Approaching her was a boy who seemed about her age, wearing a green tunic and accompanied by a small fairy.

"Link!" Zelda called to the boy, and ran down the steps towards him.

Link also sped forward, confronting the Princess.

"Link, I'm so glad you've returned! But so soon! Just yesterday, Impa and I fled the castle to protect myself from Ganondorf... But returned when Impa discovered that security was improved greatly, and Ganondorf was no longer trusted by the Nobles ruling Hyrule. I certainly wasn't expecting you back so soon!"

"Yes, neither was I! It certainly was a long journey... But I assume you know nothing of it... To you, it surely seems like no time has passed at all.

"Hmm... Yes, you're right... So, the legends regarding the Temple of Time are true... You, Link, are the Hero of Time!"

"You are correct, Zelda... At least, that's what Rauru told me!"

"So, Link," Zelda inquired, "Why not tell me of your travels? I'd love to hear the tale, I'm sure it was long and exciting!"

Link took Zelda's hand and walked over to Zelda's stoop. He signaled for her to sit, and he did the same. After getting somewhat comfortable, he began telling the tale...

By sundown, the story of Link's adventure was complete.

"So... Ganondorf is gone... For good," Zelda Began. "He is not only trapped in the Sacred Realm, he is trapped in time. There would be absolutely no possible way for him to return. Hyrule is safe. Thank you so much, Link!" Zelda leaned over and kissed the Hylian dressed as a Kokiri. He giggled just as a ten year old would, and blushed.

Zelda smiled. "Come, Link, let us tell my father of your bravery and get you something to eat!"

After a hearty meal that Link verily enjoyed, the two decided to take a walk through Hyrule Field and possibly the Kokiri Forest, if Zelda could make it in...

The walk was undisturbed, and the two eventually made it to the forest's entrance.

"Zelda, you know that you could turn into one of those awful Skull Kids if you go in... I don't know if you should be taking that risk!"

"Oh, Link... I want to see the Kokiri Forest! Your description of it during dinner was just spectacular! I obviously have a lot to learn about this wondrous land of Hyrule." Without another word, Princess Zelda walked into the forest.

"Zelda! No..."

Despite Link's fears, Zelda was just fine. She walked into the lush, green forest unharmed.

Link sighed in relief. "Zelda, you really had me worried there... I was told that I am the only Hylian that can enter the forest without becoming one of those Skull Kids... They are pretty scary looking..."

"Oh, nonsense Link! I'm fine! Now, I want the tour of this forest! It's very beautiful..."

Link guided Zelda around the forest, pointing out the important areas, showing her his small hut, and introducing her to his best friend, Saria. Eventually, the two made their way to the Deku Tree sprout.

"Hello there, Link!" the Deku Sprout chirped. "And who is this lovely girl..."

"This is Princess Zelda," Link said happily.

"Lovely to meet you, Zelda!" The Deku Sprout turned to Link. "Link, I've heard rumors that despite Ganondorf's discovery of the Triforce, it's still out there... I don't know if you are at all interested, but it would be an excellent adventure for you... What do you say?"

"Well... Ok! Despite the danger of the last adventure, it really was a lot of fun, and very exciting!"

Zelda quickly interrupted, pouting. "Link?! You just got back! You're leaving already?! I thought the two of us were going to be friends and play in Hyrule Field together!"

"Actually, Zelda, I was hoping... I was hoping that you'd come with me!"

"What?! Me? A Princess of Hyrule? What will my father think? Ok!"

Link, surprised in Zelda's quick changed, just laughed. "Well, I'll be glad to have you with me!" Link turned to Zelda and smiled.

"Well, it seems that the two of you are ready! Now, Link, I heard that something secret is happening in Gerudo Valley... Perhaps you'd like to check that out, although it is well guarded..."

"Yes," Zelda broke in, representing the duo, "we'll do just that." She turned to Link. "Link, let's go, right now! I'm very excited to be able to do something other than just sit around the castle all day and do what my father says... I've always had some yearning to get out... It's like I can feel it in my blood or something... But let's go, right now!"

Link, smiling, turned to the Deku Sprout, shrugged, and followed Zelda to his little hut. There, they gathered a few supplies, and left, exiting the forest.

When they reached Hyrule Field, Zelda spoke. "Link, there's no way I'll be able to travel in this dress!" She quickly grabbed the bottom of her dress, and quickly tore the bottom half of the skirt right off. "There! Much better! I can walk now!"

Link chuckled, and the two walked off, in the direction of Gerudo Valley.

This next portion was written by Eric Weeks.

It was the next day when they arrived in Gerugo Valley. Because Link had a membership card, he and the princess were allowed inside. The Gerudo's Fortress was under attack. But by whom?

Link had never seen these men before. Zelda ran into a building to escape. Link followed. They were in an underground area where Gerudo's were hiding with them. Link looked outside and thought of who they could be. He then drew his weapon and ran outside, joining the battle. "Link! Wait!" Zelda yelled as she ran for him. Link started running to the Haunted Wasteland. He looked back just in time to see Zelda swooped up by a Paliden Knight and taken in the direction of Hyrule Field. Suddenly an arrow struck Link in his left arm. He collapsed and last saw 3 Gerudo's carrying him somewhere.

Link awoke in Hyrule Castle. He saw the King of Hyrule standing beside him. "Link! You are ok! We need your help, if you can. You got hit by that arrow hard. Zelda was kidnapped!"

"I'll help. Who were those men, attacking the Gerudo's?"

"They were unidentified men."

"I should be off!" Link said to the king as he ran off.

Link went to Lon Lon Ranch to get Epona. After saddling up on the young pony, he rode off into the distance heading for Death Mountain. That was the least explored region of Hyrule. Maybe these attackers were stationed there.

This next portion was written by Kyle Chaisson.

As Link approached Death Mountain, he hopped off the small horse he was riding. He entered Kakariko Village, and strolled up the stairs leading to Death Mountain.

"Hi, Link!" the usual guard stationed there yelled out.

"Hello, Midoro. How are you today?"

"I'm fine. What's a young lad like you up to, today?"

"I can't explain now. See you later, Midoro." Link walked past the gaurd and came upon Death Mountain Trail. He pulled out his Kokiri Sword, and slowly moved forward. After a few minutes of walking without any threats, he relaxed. As he got farther and farther up the mountain, Link began to wonder if maybe the men he had seen earlier were there or not. Those thoughts left his mind when he saw one of them patrolling up ahead. he dived behind a boulder, and looked up. The man was tall, but he didn't look very strong. he was armed only with a sword.

Link pulled his Slingshot out of his backpack, and let a Deku Seed fly at the man. it hit him in the temple, and knocked him down. As he slowly got up, Link leaped out with his Sword at the ready. The guard did not react fast enough, and Link's blade sliced into his shoulder. The guard fell down, and rolled away from Link. He pulled out his own sword, and looked at Link.

"You--you're just a kid!" he said.

"That's right, but I can still take you out!" Link said as he again lunged. The man was again caught offguard and Link sliced his blade across his knee. The man brought his own sword down, but Link crouched, and the blade hit the heavy Hylian Shield on his back. Link came up with his sword on the mans arm, and it knocked his sword away. Link held his sword up to the man's throat.

"Where is Princess Zelda?" he asked.

"I-I don't know." the man replied. Link sliced his other knee with his sword. Drops of red blood hit the ground.

"OK, OK! They took her into the crater, said something about a sacrifice to bring our master back!"

"Master? Who's your master?"

"I can't tell you that! Don't worry though, you're probably too late, and he's probably on his way back to this realm right now."

"We'll see about that." Link said, and he ran off towards the crater.

"Link!" Navi yelled at him. "What is it, Navi?" Link said.

"How long do you think you'll last in the crater without the proper protection. I mean, you have a Goron Tunic, but it's too big for you now."

"I don't care! Zelda's life is on the line. I have to save her!" he continued to run. He finally got to the top, and entered the crater.

This next portion was written by Russ Jones.

Bright blasts of molten lava burst up.Link slid down along the boulders and climbed down walls making his way toward the Fire Temple. There were a few of the knights that had kidnapped Zelda stationed at the entrance.

"Link, you may not want to challenge them all at once, you know; you are just a kid again,"Navi suggested.

"Ok,"Link said."But I need to make this quick, I can only last about another minute or so down here.Lets just hope these guys aren't too bright."

Link picked up a small rock and threw it.It clattered against one of the stone walls.A soldier went to go check it.

After the knight had disappeared from the others view Link took his chance. He slowly crept behind the soldier. The knight then headed back across the bridge where he was supposed to be.Link then pulled out a Deku stick and hit the guard in the back of the knee. This caused the knight to plummet into the lava below head first. The lava blasted up again causing Link to fall back.

"Did you hear that?"The second soldier asked.

"No, now would you shut up. I've listened to you and that other rookie yap for hours and I'm sick of it," the third knight barked.

"Alright but I better go check it out."

"Ok and while you're at it tell John to get his sorry *@% back over here."

The soldier crossed the bridge to check out the noise.

"I'm not gonna last much longer down here," Link said.

Link then heard the soldier approaching.

"Yeah I'll show him one day," the knight said angrily to himself. "He thinks he can push me around all...."

Link tripped this one and hit him in the face with the back of his sword.

"Damn, where are they?"the last knight said.

He then saw a small child of about the age of nine or ten crossing the bridge.

"Halt,"the knight shouted.

Link stopped, pulled out his slingshot and aimed for the head. The Deku seed hit the man dead center in the head but to Link's suprise the knight didn't fall. This guy was strong.

"Ya know you're very funny, kid. To bad I have to kill you now."

The knight pulled out a long sword about the size of the Biggoron sword. The guard ran straight toward the bridge holding the sword.Link pulled out the small Kokiri sword and crouched.

Link narrowly missed being sliced in two by the sword. To counter Link stabbed the guy in the knee.

"AAAGH!"the knight shouted in pain.

He swung the sword again and Link ducked.Link countered again by stabbing the guard in his other knee. The knight collapsed in pain, but he still had some fight in him. The knight grabbed Link by the throat and held him over the side of the bridge.

"Goodbye, kid."

Link wasn't finished yet however. He took his sword and slashed a long line down the knights arm. The soldier lessened his grip.

"Now's your chance," Navi said. "Finish him off!"

Link pulled out a deku nut and threw it at the soldier's face. The knight released Link sending him falling into the lava below. But just short of the fall he caught a ledge. He gravely injured himself in doing this.Link slowly pulled himself up onto it and he fell down. The heat was begining to take its toll on him now.

"I guess you never will experience lord Volvagia's glorious return now, kid."the guard yelled."The heat in this place will kill ya first."

The knight pulled out a bottle of red potion. He drank it, got up, and walked inside the Fire Temple chuckling. Little did the knight know that Link also had a surplus of potion from his fight with Ganon. Link pulled out his bottle, drank it, and looked around.

"Look,a magic bean leaf," Navi said excitedly.

"Someone must be looking out for me," Link said with a smile.

He hopped on the magic leaf and rode it up to the Fire Temple entrance. He hopped off the leaf and entered the structure.

This next portion was written by Jay Potter.

Link and Navi ran (well, Navi flew) into the hot temple, the strong smell of sulfur filled his nose. The smell was so strong it nearly choked him, the only thing he could do was put on the red fire-proof tunic, even thought it was to loose for him, he tucked it into his belt and made do with what he had. Right away he saw three guards, all of them were guarding one of the three doors that were in the first room.

"I wonder if that kid is gonna show up any time soon?" one of the guards yelled.

"You know he will," another replied "And we'll be waiting, don't let him into the temple. If he gets in this way we're all dead."

Link was about to go after the guard on the lower level when Navi stoped him "LINK!" Navi yelled "Stop... I think you should go pay a visit to the great fairies, your going to need a lot of help if you are going to save the princess." He was on his way out when he heard some screaming

"LET GO OF ME!" he heard a loud crash and a guy yell and Zelda flew out of the door that led to the dragon, past the gard and grabbed link (how she saw him link didn't know) and jumped on the magic bean plant outside.

"I thought it took seven years to grow these" questioned Zelda

"I know" replied Link "But its here so lets go."

"Where are we going?" again asked Zelda

"To the two great Fairies, they after all, live in this mountain. I am sure that they can help us in some way."

"THE GORONS!" Shouted Navi, she seems to do that a lot, "If you can get into Dogono Cavern I bet you can find out something"

"What does Dogono Cavern have to do with the Fire temple?" snapped zelda.

"Listen girly," struck Navi "The miners in Dogono know death mounten better than anyone, even the great fairies. They're nuts anyways, have you ever heard them laugh? And they look like they were run over by a wild horse. Praise the Great Deku Tree, they need some help."

"You do know you are talking to a PRINCESS right?" Zelda said flicking Navi.

"Royal Blood or Royal Pain makes no difference to me. You need to watch how you talk to me, I could save your life one day"

"I doubt that." pouted Zelda

"Okay, we're back on solid ground. Stop fighting you two and lets go" Link jumped off the plant and Navi flew under his hat, just after looking at Zelda and glowing at her mockingly. Zelda snarled at Links hat, and then sped closer to him.

"So are we going to the cavern?"

"We need to go ask," Link shuddered "Darunia first. He's a nice guy but a bit to friendly."

Zelda, Link and Navi all strolled down the mountain and went to Goron city.

"Wow" said Zelda with a twinckle of aw in her voice "I have heard the tales of this great city but I have never actually been."

"We need to go down there" Link pointed down at a large door at the bottom of the pit, with a large rotating pot in the center. "Navi will you do me a favor and tell Darunia that we're coming?"

"Sure link" Navi glowed happily and flew down to Darunia's throne room.

"I don't like her" said Zelda watching the fairy fly down to the thrown room. "She's uppity, and wont listen to authority."

"Remember, she isn't really under your authority. She was under the Deku Tree's authority, and try to avoid mentioning the Great tree to her, he is her father." Zelda and link walked down, through the winding halls of the not too roaring city. The stone walls were all painted with bright colors, depicting many aspects of Goron life. Although Zelda and Link could see a large picture of the lizard Dogono. On the sides of the upper wall they could see pictures of Gorons doing normal every day things, a nice thing to see on the otherwise plain walls.
Upon reaching the thrown room Link and Zelda saw Navi fly out quickly screaming, as a large bearded Goron came thumping out.

"BROTHER!" Darunia scooped Link up and huged him tightly. "And my lady" the large Goron bowed down in the presents of the princess. He noticed her torn dress "Oh, look at your dress princess, it's torn... Let me get my finest tailor to sew that up for you." Darunia was about to clap his hands for his tailor when zelda called.

"No sir, that's alright we came here in need of your help. We need to talk to your finest miner in the dogono cavern, we need a man with the most knowledge of this mountain."

Darunia scrached his chin and looked at her. "No one knows more of Death mountain than me. What is it that you need?"

Link jumped in "There are some guys in the crater. They are trying to wake up the dragon."

"Damn, you know that man to man talk I have been wanting to have with you?" said Darunia "Step into my room."

Minutes passed, and Link emerged much more educated.

"Link?" Zelda said, she was a little concerned. "What did he tell you?" Link looked at Zelda and quietly said.

"Let's just say I can never look at you the same way again." Darunia walked out of his thrown room holding a spear, and a peace of paper with some stick people drawn on it. He threw the paper in the trash and said, "Lets go."

Darunia, Zelda, Link and Navi all walked up to the top of the mountain. On the way up, Navi was chuckling to herself.

"What?" link asked.

"Man to man talk, hehe" chuckled Navi. Link just gave a large sigh, and kept on walking. Navi quicky flew under his hat as they got to the intense heat of the crater's mouth.

Darunia looked at Zelda and Link. "Okay guys we're gonna go raise some hell. Nayru bless us as we decend into the fiery pit of the mountain. Oh and Link, your highness, I have something for you." Darunia pulld out from a small bag that he carried over his sholder two red peaces of clothing. "These will keep you safe from the heat in the volcano."

With this the four decended into the volcano, last thing that could be heard as they went was Navi saying "May the spirit of the Great Deku Tree protect us."

This next portion was written by Perry Greenway.

"It's a good thing I planted these sprouts years ago," Darunia said as they hopped onto one. "These makes traveling much easier around here."

Link and Zelda looked at each other and grinned.

Darunia's voice trailed off to a silent murmur as the four of them silently descended into the inferno.

"Darunia, what's the matter?" Link asked.

Darunia pointed to the boiling lava and the violent eruptions around them. "They have already started the ritual. See how the crater reacts," as he pointed to more eruptions, "even now the Dragon gathers his strength for his return."

"How do we kill it?" Zelda asked, as she finished tightening her jerkins and tunic.

"With the Hammer-" Link and Darunia both answered at the same time. They stopped and smiled at each other for a brief moment as the bean sprout found the ground.

Link got off and looked around slowly. Zelda walked over to the Fire Temple warp point and studied it carefully. As she stepped up on it, her Ocarina of Time began to pulse from her satchel. She took a small comfort in this.

"Watch out!" Darunia yelled as two guards ran from the entrance to the temple.

"I've got the one on the left," Link yelled as he threw a Deku nut, stunning him. Zelda grabbed Link's sword and slit the stunned guard from navel to nose.

"The one on the right is mine, Darunia smiled coarsely. With a massive strike from his hand, the soldier's back snapped and he slipped into the lava.

Zelda still stood over the body of the slain guard, perplexed.

"What is it, Zelda?" Link asked from behind her.

"I've never taken a life before," she whispered.

"You'll get used to it, especially in here," Darunia said, laying his hand on her shoulder for strength and comfort. "Come my Princess and Hero of Time. We've work to do."

Carefully, they entered the Temple of Fire.

This next portion was written by Aaron Brown.

They descended down the ladder and into the Fire Temple. Darunia wiped his forehead.

"I hate going up and down this ladder. I'm going to talk to the others about some sort of contraption to get us up and down quicker. I think I'll call it an elevator." he said, taking a breather.

"I'd suggest water," Link started, thinking of the Water Temple, "but I really doubt any water could be here without evaporating, or boiling."

"You have some ideas do you, brother. We'll have to work on this together after this." Darunia said. Link nodded.

"Halt!" shouted somebody.

It was a guard, he had spotted them, and three other ones were following. One of them was limping a little.

"That's the boy I was telling you about. He got my knees pretty good." The limping one told them.

"Soldiers attack!" the guard in front said as they pulled out their swords. >[? One of them went for Darunia. He swung his sword. Darunia caught his arm and picked him up with almost inhuman strength and tossed him as if he wasn't heavy at all.

"Link!" Navi shouted, "There's something strange about their armor!"

"I could've told you that!" Zelda said rolling her eyes. "I still don't see what you need her for."

"This!" Navi cried.

Zelda turned to see a guard running straight for her. Navi grabbed a rock on the ground and sped straight for the guard at full speed. She hit him! Right between the legs. The guard fell in unspeakable pain. Link and Darunia saw what she had done and cringed themselves. Navi flew in front of Zelda's face.

"You were saying??" Navia said.

"All right, all right! Thank you for saving my life!" Zelda said, irritated.

"You're welcome." Navi replied.

A guard headed for Link, he jumped for him and came down with his sword. Link back flipped out of the way, then did a lunging sword swipe on the guard. He struck the guard on top of his metal helmet, putting a dent in it. But, like Navi had said, there was something strange about the armor. Suddenly the helmet started glowing in a bright orange color. A blast came from it, and Link was doused in flames. Link flew into a wall hard and hit the ground. He was burned severely and barely breathing.

"No!!!!!" Darunia cried. In a fit of rage he grabbed the guard and slung him into another one.

Their swords slashed into each other as he landed on him, killing each other. Darunia ran straight for Link. He turned him over, putting Link's head in his arms.

"Link... are you okay?" Darunia asked, worry in his voice.

"I... I... I'm.. not.. going to make it. You... have to get them for me. Get... them..." Link's head turned, he was dead.

"No!!!!!!!!!!!" Darunia, Zelda, and Navi cried, tears in all of their eyes.

"They'll pay dearly for this!! Don't you worry brother!!" Darunia growled, tears starting to come down the rock hard Goron's face.

Suddenly, they all noticed a shaking coming from Link's belt. They all looked to see a bottle with a red light eminating from it. Suddenly, the cork flew off and a fairy emerged from it.

"Salish!" Navi cried.

"Hello Navi." was the reply of the fairy. She turned to Link. "Brave warrior, your fight is not yet over."

She circled around him, red sprinkles of light falling on Link. They all looked to see the young warrior's horrid burns turn back into normal skin. Link slowly got up, a little dazed. Our hero was back.

"Link!" Zelda cried. She ran and hugged him.

"Brother! You're alive!" Darunia yelled.

He scooped up both Zelda and Link hugging them both with overbearing joy, crushing them with his powerful arms.

"Darunia..." Link gasped, "I... can't... breathe!"

"Oh! Sorry, brother! I was just glad that you are alive." was his reply.

"Are those tears, Darunia?" Link asked with a smirk.

"Tears? What are you talking about?!" Darunia said, wiping his face. "I just had something in my eye!"

"Uh-huh." Link, Zelda, and Navi replied.

"Bye Navi." said Salish from behind them.

"Oh, bye Salish." Navi replied.

"You were the lucky, Navi. Always were." Salish replied, and disappeared.

"What was that about?" Link replied.

"Salish and I were old friends. She wanted to be a guardian fairy like me, but at the last moment. A very good friend of hers was hurt very badly. So she became a healing fairy to save her life. And her dream was shattered. For it's rare occasion that a fairy gets to change occupations." Navi told them.

"Oh." Link replied.

"Enough of the yapping!" Darunia yelled. "We'd better keep going before we're confronted with more guards."

"Right." Link agreed.

They went up the stairs, only to be stopped by Zelda.

"You guys! Wait!" Zelda called. "They've already resurrected Volvagia!"

"What?!?" Darunia and Link cried.

"They had some sort of potion concocted. I overheard them saying that the final ingredient was a lock of hair from Hylian royalty."

She lifted up her hair to show a part in it. They gasped.

"It took years to get it like this. They're going to pay!" Zelda said angrily.

"Worry about your hair later!" Link commanded.

"If they've revived him, we're in trouble." Darunia said. "I don't know if we can take it out without the-"

"Megaton Hammer!" Link cried, interrupting.

"Yes." Darunia replied. "How did you-"

"I know where it is!" Link said, interrupting once more. "Let's go through this door!" Link told them.

Darunia didn't say anything and just followed, with Zelda tagging right along. They went through the door to find about 10 soldiers. They immediately saw them, and headed for them.
