Ruto was waiting for Link as he entered; instantly being grabbed by one of the tentacles and thrown around.

"You fool! You think you can defeat me once again? The young girl I now posses is your weak spot, you will not destroy her!" The very deep voice spoke.

Ruto herself spoke then, in her normal voice: "Link! You can't save me but you can get to Zelda through the door where you first fought your evil self..." the voice changed to dark: "shut up!" The fish slapped herself on the forehead.

"You can fight it Ruto! I know there is still a mind in there!"Link encouraged.

The monster started to grab its head, as if in a great deal of pain, dropping Link to the floor. At once Ruto started to glow, and burst into a blue flame. Link gazed in awe as the old Ruto turned into a blue light, and the Morpha was left behind on the floor underneath the floating brillience.

Link took the advantage and destroyed Morpha for the second time, then ran out of the room for Zelda.

He arrived at the glazed room, finding nothing but a tree. It melted away into Zelda, but instead of her greeting him with joy, she attacked with a blade identical to the giant's knife...

This next portion was written by Blake Cripps.

"Zelda!! It's Link!! What are you doing!?" Link shreiked hysterically.

"Link, you should know after seeing your friend Ruto. I am being controlled by Morpha by the power of the Triforce of Power held by your dragon friend Volvagia!"

"But I just destroyed Morpha! He is dead with Amy Poe and Bongo-Bongo!"

"No matter. You'll have to defeat me or Volvagia to save the real Zelda."

Black magic swirled about Zelda and Zelda's girly laugh changed into a deep masculine voice!!

"You'll never beat me again!" Zelda's dark spirit cried.

After the black magic cleared he saw an old enemy that he didn't want to see again.

It was Dark Link!!

"You are a fool, Link!! I have the Triforces of Power and Wisdom on my side. You don't have either!! But I am a reasonable man!! I'll give you ten seconds to decide whether to fight me and die or surrender to me and live. I'm counting!! One, Two, Three..."

When he got to eight, Link had his mind made up.

"Alright!! I'll join you. Just back off."

"Good!! I knew you'd see it my way. To show that we hold no grudge, let's shake hands!"

Dark Link walked up to the Real Link and stuck his hand out and Link grabbed it.

"Let's go, Link. Follow me, I'll show you where we need to go next."

The Dark side of Link started for the door. Link quietly pulled out his bow and an Ice Arrow. He didn't have enough magic for a Light arrow. He drew back and called to Dark Link.

"Hey, Dark Link!! I got a present for ya!!"

Dark Link turned around and instant ly Link released the arrow. It froze Dark Link solid. Link immediately pulled ou Biggoron's Sword and went up and slashed Dark Link multiple times, but the monster managed to escape.

"Well, well. You Blackmailer!! I'll kill you."

He ran up to Link and drew his sword. But Link quickly pulled out his Megaton hammer and slammed the Dark Link twice and the battle was over.

"I'LL BE BACK TO KILL YOU!!! YOU'LL NEVER GET AWAY WITH THIS YOU F$%#*%^ BASTARD!! I PRAY THAT VOLVAGIA DESTROYS YOU!!"

Dark Link then fell to his knees and melted away. He was then surrounded by a pinkish glow. And when the pink magic subsided, Zelda emerged. Zelda had been saved.

"Thank you so much Link. I can never repay you."

Princess Ruto then walked in to the room.

"Zelda!! You're OK!!

"Yes and it's all thanks to Link. Did he save you too?

"Yes he did. I would kiss him but there is no time. We must go defeat Volvagia!!"

"Grab my arms ladies. It's warping time!!"

Link played the Prelude of Light and the golden light surrounded the firends and they were off.

When they emerged from the Temple of Time, they couldn't believe what they saw.

This next portion was written by Russ Jones.

"Oh my goodness,"Link said.

The fight must have ended while they were all at the Water Temple. Over across the courtyard were the smashed lanterns of what was left of the Poe sisters and Koume and Kotake were dead. But the soldiers were no where in sight just the deceased ones were found scattered about. Around the carnage they found hoof prints.

"What could have possibly happened here?"Zelda asked.

"I think I have an idea," Ruto said as she looked up at the ruins of the castle."

There was a dark cloud surrounding the castle ruins.

*******

"You fool," Volvagia rasped. "You dare turn on your master?"

"No," A familiar knight answered. "You are not my master."

The knight limped forward into the light and began to change. His silver armor turned to a black gerudo male's outfit.

"Gannondorf?" Volvagia asked.

"No, but close," The man said.

He pulled off what looked like a mask that resembled Gannondorf revealing a skull.

"Ganon freed me so that I may use your greed to retrieve the Triforces and send it to the sacred realm," Phantom Ganon said. "But sadly you failed me and now you will die."

"I don't think so," Volvagia yelled breaking free of his bonds.

The phantom pulled out his staff ready to do battle when he heard a loud crash out in the hall. The door busted down and Link, Zelda, and Ruto entered. Volvagia and Phantom Ganon turned their attention to the trio.

"I'll deal with you later," Phantom Gannon said to Volvagia.

"Agreed," Volvagia said.

Then at the same time Volvagia breathed fire in their direction while Phantom Ganon sent energy bolts from his staff.

"Down," Link said as he dropped to the floor taking Ruto and Zelda with him.

They managed to dodge the blasts and the entire wall behind them was pulverized with the energy.Link got up and charged toward Phantom Ganon while Zelda and Ruto fired blasts from their hands at Volvagia. Link tackled the phantom knocking him through the frail wall and into the next room. Volvagia continued spitting fire at Zelda and Ruto while they countered with energy blasts. Phantom Ganon hit Link with his staff and fired a blast at Link close range but Link batted it back with his sword it hit the fake Ganon knocking him through another wall. Then Phantom Ganon charged his staff until it was pulsing green. He let the energy go and it hit Link sending him off his feet.Link then again got up and threw a deku nut at the thing and temporarily blinded him. Link then hit him with the Biggoron sword over and over again until Phanto Ganon tripped Link with his staff and hovered up in the air bursting through the ceiling revealing the sky above. The falling debris knocked Link unconscious.

"There, now I've got you," Phantom Ganon said as he charged his staff for an unusually long time until it was pulsing red.

He pointed the staff and Link and was about to let it go when Volvagia's limp body smashed into him. They busted through the final wall and fell straight into the moat.

"I guess that takes care of them both,"Ruto said.

Then Phantom Ganon pulled himself out of the moat and called for his horse. Upon the horse reaching him he hopped on and rode off toward Gerudo Valley. After that Volvagia burst out of the moat and headed toward death mountain.

"How will we catch them now?"Zelda asked.

This next portion was written by Byron Ivy.

Just then, as soon as Zelda had completed her sentence, the Sage of Fire, Darunia came dashing into the room panting.

"Volvagia, huff huff, attacking city, huff, fire everywhere, huff," Darunia said as he was trying to catch his breath.

"Calm down and tell us about it," said Ruto placing her cool hand upon his back to cool him off.

When he had caught his breath, Darunia said, "Volvagia is attacking Goron City. There is fire everywhere. We thought that we would be ready for him, but the heat was too intense. He came in and just started killing off the Gorons left and right. Me and a few of the other Gorons escaped and fled here where we hoped that you would be. Luckily, we were right. I just pray that my son, Link, is one of the refugees that made it here with us. Will you please come and help us save what is left of Goron City?"

"Of course," Link said forgetting that Phantom Ganon had also headed for Gerudo Valley.

Then Zelda spoke up, "What about Phantom Ganon and the Gerudos?"

"Crap!" Link shouted, "I forgot about that bastard." Link looked out the window of the castle and saw what looked like about one hundred Gorons. He instructed Darunia to take those Gorons along with Zelda to Death Mountain and attempt to see what Volvagia was up to there and be secretive about it. Darunia nodded and he and Zelda gathered all the other Goron refugees and headed for Death Mountain. Then, Link looked toward Ruto. He spoke, "Ruto, we must go to Lake Hylia. There is a small tool that I must get from there."

"O.K.," said Ruto, and with that, Link pulled out his Ocarina and played the Serenade of Water. The two were instantly transported to the pedestal abouve the Water Temple entrance.

"Stand right here," Link said, pulling out his bow and arrow. Ruto asked what Link was doing as he aimed for her head. Then, Link let go of the arrow and it flew right at Ruto. Link with his great aim, somehow managed to miss Ruto, forced the arrow to fly right past her head, and make direct contact with the rising sun. Ruto was in awe as the gift from the sun, the Fire Arrows, landed on a tiny island right next to the island that the Water Temple lay hidden in. Link jumped into the water and swam toward the tiny island. He grabbed the arrows and without a word swam back toward Ruto. He asked her if she needed to get in the water and refresh herself and she did. When she got out of the water, Link motioned for her to head across the bridge.

"Since Ganondorf is a Gerudo, do you think that he would make his phantom destroy Gerudo Valley?" Link asked Ruto.

"I am not sure, but probably not."

"That is what I think," and without another thought, Link grabbed Ruto's arm and played the Nocturne of Shadow. When they were warped to the pedestal above the entrance to the Shadow Temple. Ruto asked him why he transported them here and he said that this way, they could sneak up on Volvagia instead of being put right in the middle of it all.

* * *

Darunia, Zelda, and all the other Gorons had just made it up to the top of Death Mountain. What they saw there was horrible. Gorons were scattered all around the city and Darunia started running in. Zelda tripped him to get him to stop. It worked and Darunia got up steamed for her actions and she explained to him that if he had ran in there he could have been killed like all the other Gorons. He thanked her and they listened in on Volvagia and another strange, yet familiar voice.

"Those kids stopped me in the Water Temple and I am sorry for that. It will never happen again, Master."

"It better not, because if it does you will be killed like all of the other fools that have opposed me," said the familiar voice of Volvagia.

"Don't worry, it won't," said the strange masculine voice.

"OH MY GOODNESS!!!" said Zelda.

"What is it!?" asked Darunia.

"That voice. I know that voice. It's... it's... IT'S LINK'S VOICE!!!"

"That can't be, but now that you mention it, it does sound like him," Darunia commented.

But then, they both spotted Link and Ruto rushing up Death Mountain Trail to see what was going on. Each of them stared at each other and said, "DARK LINK???"

"Why are you two discussing Dark Link at a time like this?" Link said as he approached the two.

"Because that is who is in my chamber with Volvagia," said Darunia with a look of horror on his face.

The Gorons, Link, Zelda, Ruto, and the Sage of Fire prepared for a rough battle.

This next portion was written by Byron Ivy.

Link told the group that he should probably scope the area out first. He walked in slowly and peered down into Darunia's chamber. Just then, he saw a familiar shadow, his own shadow! He leaped off of the top floor of the city and landed on the third floor. He pulled his sword out and prepared for a fight. Dark Link was quick and agile. He had made a promise to Volvagia and he intended to keep it. He would not let his master down again.

"Why don't you join us Link," said Dark Link as he dove above Link's head. "You know that you will die if you stay on the side that you are on. You world will end if you do not join us this time."

"That is what I came to do... Brother," Link said to the shadow of his worst enemy, his own mind.

"Good, good, brother. You have finally came to your senses. I knew that this day would come," said Dark Link with a look of power in his eye. He started to walk away when Link spoke.

"Guess what, Link," Link said. "I lied," he said as he pulled out a fire arrow.

"I planned on that," Dark Link said, laughing. "Look behind you, you foolish mortal." Link looked back and saw nothing. When he turned his attention back to Dark Link, he realized that he had just made his first mistake, he turned his back on himself. "Very foolish thing to do Link," said the deep masculine voice of Dark Link. His voice boomed through the entire city.

Darunia heard the voice and decided that his brother might need some help. He started to enter the city when a large door slammed down in front of him. He attempted to bang the door down, but to no success.

Meanwhile, inside Goron City, Link was desperately searching for his shadow. Suddenly, Dark Link came crashing down right beside of Link and sliced his knee to bloody shreds. Link fell to the ground in pain. He quickly pulled out a bottle with a strange glow within it. He popped the cork and a fairy came out and flew around him healing him completely. He jumped up with a vengeful look in his eyes. He pulled out his Biggoron Sword and swung at the evil incarnation of himself. Somehow, Dark Link managed to dodge the giant swing. Link was mistified at the fact that Dark Link dodged the Biggoron Sword. That was the only way the Link knew to kill Dark Link. Then he remembered the goddess of power, Din. He unleashed the magic of Din's Fire and Dark Link fell to the ground just as Link had when he had been sliced by Dark Link's sword. The only difference was that Dark Link didn't have a fairy to revive him. Link ran over to him with his sword readied and started swinging frantically. When the dust cleared, Link realized that he had completely wiped out Dark Link, or maybe Dark Link was never even there. Link wasn't sure, but he knew that this battle was over. He made his way back up to the top floor of Goron City just as Darunia and the other gorons made their way through the barricaded entrance.

"Everything is okay," said Link to his fellow comrades. "Dark Link has been vanquished once and for all... I hope," he said.

"I can't believe YOU!!! You have failed me once again. Now, you will be banished once and for all to the dark void between realms you incompetent FOOL!!!" Volvagia shouted from the chambers of Darunia.

"But...but...but master, he could not be stopped. I tried my best. He had the power of the goddesses with him. There was no escape from him. I don't even believe that you can destroy him!!!" Dark Link argued in his defense against Volvagia.

"That IS IT! YOU ARE BANISHED NOW!!!" Volvagia shouted angrily at the frightened Dark Link.

Then, there was a great silence and all of the gorons started to rise, as if from the dead. The started speaking and carrying on as if nothing had happened. Then Volvagia could be heard screaching toward Gerudo Valley where Phantom Ganon had gone earlier.

"Darunia, if you feel that you should stay here and protect your people, then go ahead, but if you would like to help with these resurrected demons then please do. If you don't, I understand though," Link said softly to Darunia.

"I feel that my people are strong enough to take on Volvagia if he returns which he probably won't. I would like to go with you," Darunia said with a look of revenge on his face.

"Then that's it, let's go," Zelda said patting the two of them on the shoulders.

Link pulled out the Ocarina and played the Serenade of Water while the other three, Darunia, Zelda, and Ruto, were holding onto him. They rematerialized on the platform above the Water Temple's entrance. From there, they headed toward Gerudo Valley prepared for the worst.

This next portion was written by Ted Anderson.

The lightning boomed and cracked once more, and charred stone fell away in chunks from the side of the Fortress. Phantom Ganon roared with laughter and fired again, ripping holes in the side of the once-impressive stone edifice.

Nabooru, who had left the battle with her warriors once the guardians had been defeated, was firing arrow after arrow at the spirit's laughing death mask from the roof. She'd come back, weary but happy, hoping the battle had finished. Then this thing had the gall to come along and start ripping the Fortress apart!

She reached for another arrow and found that her quiver was empty. Forty arrows she'd shot at that thing, and not one had hit it! She swore and jumped down into the floor below, heading for the armory. When she got there, she selected a boomerang and a slim rapier. She dodged back out and went to the ground outside.

When she went out, Phantom Ganon turned to her and laughed.

"Have you come to battle me, woman?" he boomed.

"No," she said in a voice of steel. "I have come to kill you." Fast as lightning, she threw the boomerang at the creature's head. The armor-plated foe raised his pike and smashed the boomerang, laughing as he did so.

"Is that all you can throw at me?" he shouted.

Suddenly he stopped. Nabooru was nowhere to be found. The woman had simply disappeared. Enraged, Phantom Ganon spun around, searching for the Gerudo Queen.

Without warning, Nabooru dropped onto his back and bashed his head witht the hilt of her sword. Phantom Ganon cried out and tried to swing at her, but Nabooru simply ducked and slashed again. The Gerudo-forged blade scoured black marks on the spirit's armor. Flakes of steel fell to the ground as Nabooru whittled away at the creature.

Finally, with a cry of anger, Phantom Ganon tossed Nabooru over his shoulder and onto the sand with a thump. Nabooru slashed upward with her sword at the skull mask, but the phantom blocked her swings with his pike. He raised the steel-tipped weapon above his head, lightning crackling about as he laughed maniacally...

And in a moment that seemed to take years, he stopped as the flinty head of an arrow sprouted from his chest. Phantom Ganon reached a shaking hand up to his chest and felt the shaft that had skewered him. His pike dropped from his limp fingers as he fell to the ground, dead.

Nabooru looked up. There was Link, all of seventeen, with a bow in his hands and a quiver on his back. As she watched, he lowered the bow and threw her an abbreviated salute. She returned the gesture.

"Nice shot," she said.

Link waved off the compliment. "It was only twenty feet...easy thing. But we've got to get inside, and quickly."

"Why? With Phantom Ganon here gone, no one else is going to..."

A roar above her head distracted her, and Nabooru looked up. There, flying on wings of smoke and flame, was Volvagia, in all her glory. As they watched, the dragon swooped over the Fortress and blanketed it with flame. Link sighed.

"That's why. Come on. Darunia, Zelda, Ruto, and Saria are already inside." He sprinted off to the Fortress with Nabooru in hot pursuit.

This next portion was written by Matt "Dark Prince" Homan.

Volvagia ceased his attack and continued westward to the Desert Colossus. Once inside the Spirit Temple Volvagia was telepathicly contacted by Ganon. "Volvagia, my patience wears thin. If you are defeated, the Triforce will be lost forever to those kids and my spirit will be extinguished because you have control of the Triforce of Power. You had better have a plan". Volvagia replied, "I do. Those other monsters were only a diversion of my master plan! If I'm correct, those do-gooders are on their way here now... I am moments away from casting a spell which will turn all the water in Hyrule to lava! The King's armies are defeated. I will be able to travel underground, undetectable. That fool, Link, has re-opened the door to the Sacred Realm. You shall be free within the hour!" "I should hope so," Ganon replied. "It would be a very tight spot for you if that plan failed." He continued, "I have been watching this battle closely. The young Hylian Link is the key to everything. I will send you one new guardian: Binder. Use him to capture Link. Deplete him of his weapons, and anything at all that may help him...then bring him to the Temple of Time. I want to watch the look on his face as he sees my glorious return. Then I will take the pleasure of killing him myself." Ganon let out a fiendish laugh as his voice faded.

Volvagia flew over to the the platform hanging before the statue shrine. He raised his hands and chanted: "To the liquid which brings life, I shall cause tremendous strife, with immence drama, I turn all water into lava!"

A gigantic sonic boom shook the land eminating a fire wave. The wave dispersed from the Spirit Temple and caused all the water to turn into lava. Just then, a portal opened next to Volvagia and a giant creature with 12 arms and 12 legs emerged. "Binder," Volvagia commanded, "go to the Haunted Wasteland and wait for Link. When he is separated from the others, grab him and bring him here to me."

***

Meanwhile, Link, Darunia, Ruto, Saria, and Zelda were heading out of Gerudo Fortress. They just reached the gate, when a wave of fire swept torward them.

"Take cover!" shouted Link. "Let me shield you Brother," said Darunia. He grabbed the others and formed a giant ball around them. The wave passed over them, leaving them unharmed.

Ruto said, "Is it just me, or is it hotter around here?" "You're right," said Zelda, "It smells like something's burning." She looked in the direction of the wooden gate to be the first one to see it burning. Link walked over to it and looked beneath it. The river of sand became a boiling, bubbling mound of lava.

"Someone's cast a spell of great power." Saria said. Zelda replied, "Volvagia's the only one obsessed enough with fire, heat, and lava to do something twisted like this. How are we supposed to get across the lava now?"

"We could use my longshot on the flag over there," said Link. "I'll send it back after I get across."

"Brother- I could leap across here without any trouble at all," said Darunia. "No, I don't want to risk you falling or something," said Link, "Grab the longshot as it comes back over here."

Link shot the longshot over to the post of the bridge on the other side. Meanwhile Binder appeared on the other side of the chasm hidden in a whirlwind of dust. Link fired the longshot back and let go just as Ruto noticed some movement. "Link, look out!" But it was too late. Binder lept out from his crevice and grasped Link's arms, legs, head, mouth, and his bag. Link was completely immobile and mute. Binder took off with such speed that by the time Darunia longshotted over, the dust had already settled.

***

Volvagia grinned gleefully as Binder entered the room. "Well, young hero. Your luck has just run out. There'll be no more do-gooders soon enough. For now, though, I'll make sure you're of no annoyance to me." He raised his hands and chanted another spell. The fear in Link's eyes were frozen as he was encased in a crystal cocoon. The last thing Link heard was, "Don't worry, kid. This won't hurt. Much." Then the darkness settled in.

Binder grabbed him, entered the small hole Volvagia made, and started down the tunnel. All of a sudden Volvagia's ears perked up. "Move it! We've got company!" Volvagia folled right behind and collapsed the entrance and made the lava harden like rock. Seconds later Darunia broke down the door to the shrine room, closely followed by Zelda, Saria, and Ruto. The only thing left in Volvagia's wake was a hardened seal of volcanic ash.

***

Volvagia continued burrowing for ten minutes. He then stopped and said, "This is it." Binder, holding Link, and Volvagia entered the Temple of Time. "Listen up. Put the boy over there," he said pointing to a far corner. "Binder, when those medling kids and that overgrown rock get here, grab them so I have time to seal this door shut. It shouldn't be too much trouble seeing that Link will be the perfect decoy. Master Ganon, your awakening is at hand."

***

"Where could they have gone?" asked Ruto. "I don't know," said Zelda, "but there's nothing out here anymore. We need to go see how the army did against the rest of the monsters." Just then a tear slid down Darunia's cheek. "I failed him, princess. He's my Brother and I let him down." wimpered Darunia. "Listen, we don't have time to worry about that now, we have to go and get him back! Let's go to the castle," comforted Zelda. "Wait," interrupted Saria, "shouldn't we pick someplace out of the fire zone?" "You're right," Zelda said, "We'll warp to the Temple of Time."

***

"Listen to that," Volvagia whispered. "Someone's warping." Darunia materialized alongside Ruto, Zelda, and lastly, Saria, carrying an ocarina. "Look!" cried Darunia, "it's Link!"

The quartet bounded into the pedastal chamber. Just as they planned, Binder grabbed them all. Their cries of surprise were cut short by Volvagia sealing the doorway with molten lava. But Binder underestimated Darunia's strength. He broke free and flipped Binder over his head, releasing Ruto and Zelda. "You're too late!" called Volvagia as Darunia tapped on Link's crystal cocoon. Link's hand started to glow with the Triforce within it. Volvagia's hand had also started to glow with the Triforce of Power. Zelda held up her hand, astonished. "It's a trap!" she cried, but was cut short by Binder, who had once again recovered and grabber her and the others, save for Darunia.

The scene in the room looked grim. Link was frozen in a crystal cocoon. Darunia was weaping beside him. Binder held Saria, Ruto, and Zelda tight in his grasp. Volvagia sat in a corner, fiendishly cackling. And Link's, Zelda's, and Volvagia's hands were all glowing. To make matters worse, the triforce symbol in the middle of the room began to glow and a portal started to open. All the while a villainous laugh could be heard from beyond, chuckling as impending doom was coming...

This next portion was written by Byron Ivy.

The glow of the face of the most evil being in Hyrule gleamed in the midst of the portal to the Sacred Realm as Ganon began his entrance to the realm of Hyrule. The portal glowed with a dark light and around Hyrule, the darkness above the castle could be seen as Ganon was being ressurected. Zelda, although in the grasp of Binder, managed to send a telepathic message to the Haunted Wasteland. She hoped for Hyrule's sake that someone with a will to fight for Hyrule would hear it. Then, out of the darkness, a whirlwind of sand could be seen. Nabooru, the Sage of Spirit, heard Zelda's doomed request for help.
