"Kikou-sho!" Chun-li watched in awe as each member of the Commando team "stormed" into her energy bubble and was battered by jolts of vibrating chi. The leader, sporting a pair of red-tinted sunglasses, was the first to attack and had drawn within five feet of her before receiving her twin palms in his face. The glasses were broken now, as were many of his high-tech devices. The rest of the team followed and was each in turn promptly defenestrated. Captain Commando surveyed his team, then the deceivingly-powerful Chinese girl who stood confidently before him. "Strategic withdrawal," he ordered, and the Commando squad retreated backing out of the military complex. Captain Commando had taken a chance storming the establishment known to be the headquarters of a mysterious man called Vega, but he had not figured to be so soundly defeated by a single woman! Undoubtedly one of the crime lord’s artificially-engineered warriors. The "Captain Storm" that he and his team had so carefully rehearsed and practiced had a vital flaw--it brought the entire crew together where they could be simultaneously attacked. The Captain vowed to take measures to be more subtle next time, and to avoid unnecessary direct encounters. Coincidentally, Chun-li was thinking along similar lines. That Kikou-sho had taken more out of her than she let on. Only her bluff had saved her. Now, with the Commando squad out of sight, she let herself sink to her knees, breathing heavily, her chest heaving with the strain. The Commando team had no doubt retreated to report to Vega, she thought. Remembering that she was in the lion’s den, so to speak, Chun-li gathered her strength and stood up, trying to remain alert. Somehow, she thought, thinking back to her Kikou-sho, Vega had found a way not only to technologically-enhance his subjects, but to increase their chi tenfold! Her attack was aimed at the Captain, but what she released was a sphere of energy ten times the radius of her normal Kikou-sho! The expenditure had drained her, but not as much as it should have. Something like what she unleashed was impossible for any mortal! Chun-li attempted to channel only a little energy, trying to produce a smaller Kikou-sho, one she was more used to creating. A ball of chi approximately two feet in diameter crackled forth from her uplifted palms. It took almost no effort at all on her part! Had Vega done something to her? Chun-li tried to recall anything she might have touched that would have performed such a transformation upon her, but nothing came to mind. Unless, of course, that transporter had taken her to a different dimension, like the fabled Shangri-La! An energy-rich dimension hidden from mankind... And ready to be conquered by Vega! Well, she would be damned before she let that happen! Though Chun-li had hoped to catch Vega after the second Street Fighter tournament, his death at the hands of the awesome Gouki and the ensuing battle between that demon and Ryu had forestalled her plan. Vega was dead, however, and that seemed enough for her. However, his unexplained disappearance and the recent increase in criminal activity prompted Chun-li to resume her investigation. Tracking a cybernetics shipment to Vega’s headquarters, she found it disappearing through a transporter of some type and followed. The Commando squad that found her was just a sample of Vega’s current soldiers, Chun-li determined. She must track down the crime lord and bring him to justice once and for all.
