HQ REELS IN NEW GAME BOY COLOR B.A.S.S. FISHING GAME

CALABASAS, Calif. - April 29, 1999 - Building on THQ's (NASDAQ NMS: THQI) title as the largest third party Game Boy publisher, the company announced today that it is bringing the widely successful Bass Angler Sportsman Society (B.A.S.S.) fishing game franchise to the popular Game Boy Color system with "Bass Masters Classic."

"Bringing the number one license in fishing to the number one hand-held console game system was an obvious fit for us," stated Joe Adney, vice president of marketing, THQ. "It's time that gaming and angling enthusiasts enjoy fishing everywhere they go on the best lakes the B.A.S.S. Tournament Trial has to offer."

"Bass Masters Classic" for the Game Boy Color will feature life-like behavior, both underwater and strike viewing screens and all the style of the famous B.A.S.S. Masters Classic pros. Players can practice reeling them in under changing weather conditions and at top lakes throughout the United States.

THQ has published three previous B.A.S.S. fishing titles - "BASS Masters Classic: Tournament Edition" for the PC, as well as "BASS Masters Classic: Pro Edition" and "BASS Masters Classic" for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and the Sega Genesis game consoles. THQ's "Bass Masters 2000" for the Nintendo 64 and "Bass Masters Classic: Championship Edition" for the PlayStation are scheduled to launch in conjunction with the Game Boy Color version in Winter 1999.
