in the cities largest park, nobody for miles in any direction. Travis
Torric waited in anticipation, he has been waiting for this day
since he first discovered the energy waves with his time space sensor
over three months ago. It is the summer Solstice, almost noon. The energy
waves are about to peak, According to his
instruments, a trans space portal will openin 6 minutes. His instruments
are set to record the harmonic tones eminated from the portal, allowing him
to reopen the portal whenever he need to.

11:56AM
A tiny golden sphere appeared. It slowly, but steadily began to grow
larger, and larger.
12NOON
A small hole opened in the sphere. Eventualy the golden object took on
the form of a huge golden ring. Travis looked through the hole in the
ring, but he didn't see the grassy fields on the other side. He suddenly
remembered to collect the data on his harmonic energy sampler, and did so.
After he was finished, the ring became the sphere, then shrunk out of
existance.
After the portal closed. Travis was extatic, jumping up and down
yelling "YUS! YUS!!!"
After his "victory dance" Travis gathered eight large stones and placed
them around the former location of the portal, so he wouldnt forget where
it was.
Travis had what he came for, and promptly left the park.
After driving home, Travis tuned an emmiter to match the frequency he
recorded
in the park, then went to bed.
The next day, after breakfast, Travis went back to the very same place
he was the day before, found the stones, and turned on his emmiter.
At first, nothing happened <>
he growled to himself.
Just then, the portal opened, and Travis looked through the ring, and
like before, didn't se the other side of the ring, he saw trees through the
ring.
Travis walked to the other side of the ring, and saw no trees just a
grassy field for about a hundred yards. Travis had an idea, against his
better judgement, he stepped through the ring.
After he stepped through the ring, he found himself in a lush forrest,
trees everywhere. "Todo, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore..." He
mumbled to himself.
Just then, the ring began to close. Travis saw this, and rushed back
through the ring, he barely made it back to the other side.
"Whew! I almost got stuck there... wherever there was!" Travis spoke
to himself. "I'll have to run some more tests before I go back there..."
For the next few weeks, Travis studied the portal ring, tests included
everything from leaving a watch on the other side, to leaving a second
emmiter on the other side set to activate at noon.
After the tests, he had determined that the portal was completely safe,
the time was constant for both sides (Meaning that a day there was the same
as a day here), and the portal could be opened from both sides.
"Apparently this portal is connected to another point on Earth..."
Travis frowned, and sighed "I was hopeing it lead to another world, or
something."
"Portal is worthless;
waisted lot's of time on it;
three months down the can" *

Sudenly he had an idea
<< If I set up a telescope on the other side, I'll be able to tell where
this portal leads!>> Travis thought.
Around 6:00PM Travis began to pack up his equipment & supplies, included
were a telescope, compas, a tent, a lantern, an a bunch of other things he
thought he may need.
After getting everything together, Travis went to bed, he knew he'd need
the energy to walk to the stones... He knew that if he drove, his car
would get towed for sure.
That night he had an unpleasant dream...
He saw a large man in a red suit standing among crushed bones and skulls,
laughing at Travis, he felt pure fear. Next, Travis saw a strange creature,
with a femail appearance, sitting huddled in the corner of a metal prision
cell, shaking, and scrawney, from starvation. Travis felt pitty now, he
could feel it gnawing away at his stomach, and he could feel it in his
throat. Next he saw the large man pointing at the creature, and laughing at
her. The femail creature looked Travis in the face and said in a course,
strained voice "Help me..."
At that point Travis woke up in a terrible cold sweat, screaming, but
couldn't remember his dream...All he knew was, it was not a pleasant one.
"Detrao! Detrax! where are you?!"
Two nearly identical robots enterd the room "What is it? Would you
like us to make breakfast?"
"Yes." said Travis "And I would like you to take care of the house while
I'm gone... Don't burn it down, don't blow it up."
"We took care of the house when you were on that business trip" Said
Detrao
"And we cleaned it up even better than it was before you left"
"And you knocked over my lamp when you decided it was too wet outside to
play socker, so you played socker inside the house."
"It was Detrax who kicked the ball into the lamp!" yelled Detrao
"And it was YOUR stupid idea play inside!" yelled Detrax
"You didn't have to listen!" yelled Detrao
"I wanted to watch free Lilly, but noooo, you wanted to play socker!"
yelled Detrax
"You've seen that stupid movie fourty eight times!" yelled Detrao "And
it ends exaxtly the same, each and every time! The big dumb elephant gets
caught, the little girl makes friends with the elephant, and the elephant
jumps over the pit, and goes home... The end."
"I still like the movie." said Dertax
"I can't see how." said Detrao "I wish that elephant woulda' fallen into
that pit, splattered at the bottom. And a bunch of ivory hunters turn 'em
into piano keys!"
"You two can argue all you like AFTER I leave!" yelled Travis
It was 9:00am now, Travis ate a large breakfast and was on his way to the
portal.
"I expect there to be a house here when I get back! You hear me?!?"
"Yes we do" said Detrax and Detrao in unison.
When he ariveed, he turned on his emmiter, and a few minutes later, the ring
appeared. Travis went through, and was now in a large forest, as before.
Travis began to set up camp, and get his telescope ready. After dark,
Travis set up his lantern,(A small but powerful battery powered lantern)
Using the telescope, to his surprise Travis saw not one, but two moons,
and more surprisingly, he also saw the Big Dipper, the constalation Piscies,
the constalation Orion, and a few familiar planets. Judging from the
evidence at hand, the planet he was on was on the oposite side of the sun as
Earth.

"I'll explore this place tomorow, after I get some shuteye...".
Travis was just about to put out the campfire, wher he heard the
rustling of leaves, and a few snapping twigs... He went for his pepper gas

himself.
Then Travis saw something in the bushes, It looked orange, then it
disappeared. Travis grabbed his lantern. Just as he picked up his lantern,
he heard a yelp, more of a scream of pain. Instinctively, Travis took his
lantern and went to investigate.
After a couple minutes of searching, Travis found what he heard. It was
a vulpine figure. Upon closer investigation, he noticed that this small
creatureperson was wearing a pair of red and white shoes. he also noticed
that the creature had the appearance of a child.. <> Travis
thought <>
Travis looked down at the small writhing creature."Hello there, little
guy..." Travis said in his gentlest voice, <> Travis thought.
"You got a name little guy?" Travis whispered. To Travis's surprise,
the creature nodded. Travis could see that the creature was in pain.
"Are you hurt?". The creature nodded.
"Can you speak?" The creature opened his mouth, and began to speak...
"Y...y...y...yes...I can" The creature answered.
The creature's voice was the same as a human's voice, in every way.
"First things first, What is your name... My name is Travis."
"I'm... Miles." the creature said "My friends call me Tails"
"Where are you injured?" Travis asked. Tails motioned towards his left
ankle
"Here."
Travis reached for Tails' ankle "This won't hurt, you'll yave to trust me
on this one" and placed both his hands on Tail's ankle. Travis's hands got
warm, very warm. After a few minutes, the pain in Tails' ankle was
completely gone.
"How did you do that? My ankle doesn't hurt anymore!" Tails said.
"It's a gift" Travis replied.
"So it's all healed?" Tails got up, about to place weight on his left
ankle.
"Don't!" Travis said "It's not healed!"
"What?" Tails said, as he sat back down "It doesn't hurt anymore..."
"Right, it doesn't hurt, but it's still damaged, I felt that you have a
torn ligiment."
"Can you fix that too?" Tails asked.
"Yes, but it'll take about an hour." Travis replied
"Could you fix it... if it's not too much trouble?" Tails inquired.
"Sure!" Travis replied "I'll carry you to by campsite."
After ariving at the campsite, Tails could now see by the light of the
fire. Tails looked at Travis in fear....
"You! Yor're an overlander!" Tails cried.
"What's an overlander?" Travis said confusingly
"You!" Tails said accusingly!
"This is a bad thing, right?" Travis said with a puzzled look on his
face.
"If I were going to hurt you, I would not have taken the time to repair your
ankle." "If you want, you can leave, and I won't follow you."
"You aren't acting like an overlander usualy does, I guess I can trust
you." Tails said
"Okay, now let's get that ankle finished." Travis Concluded
For about an hour, Travis had his hands on Tails' ankle.
"All done!" Travis said in a cheerful manner
"Thank you" Tails said. "By the way, what are you doing here?
"I came here to se where a portal opened up to. Apparently this planet
is on the opposit side of the sun than mine is." Travis said.
"That explaines why you didn't know what an overlander was." Tails said
Travis went searching through his backpack and pulled out a bag of mint
candies, and began to eat one.
"Ooooooo! Can I have some of those?!?" Tails said "I haven't had a
hard candy mint for four years, please, gimme, gimme!"
"Sure!" Travis said "Here's one for now... and a few for the road"
"The road?" Tails said.
"I meant for later." Travis replied
"Okay." Said Tails. "I have to go home now, my friends are probably
worried sick about me."
"I'll se ya' around, Miles" Travis said
"You can call me Tails!" tails said, disappearing into the thickets
After that, Travis put out the fire, entered his tent and went to sleep.
The next morning, Travis was awakened by several monotone voices.
"FREEDOM-FIGHTER-CAMP-FOUND. WHAT-ARE YOUR-ORDERS-ROBOTNIK?"
"Capture them, and bring them to me!!!" a gravely voice said, as if over
a truckers CB. Suddenly, what looked like an armored human, burst into
Travis's tent, grabbed him, and pulled him out into the open with unearthly
strength.
"SIR-WE-HAVE-LOCATED-AN-OVERLANDER-WHAT-SHOULD-WE-DO?" The figure said
into what appeared to be a communicator.
"Bring the overlander to me!" Said the gravley voice.
The next thing Travis knew, the robots had pulled him into a craft of
some sort.
"What is the meaning of this?!? Where are you taking me!?! I demand
to know!!!!" Travis yelled.
"WE-ARE-TAKING-YOU-TO-ROBOTNIK-OUR-GLORIOUS-LEADER" One of the robots
said. "THERE-ROBOTNIK- WILL-JUDGE-YOU."
"Oh, great... Were off to Oz to meet the great judge Wopler!" Travis
muttered"
"SILENCE!" Said one of the figures.
"Big bucket of bolts; He's carying me away; To do who knows what..."
"I-SAID-BE-SILENCED!!!"

Travis thought to himself. Across the ship, Travis noticed his backpack

Earlier, in a lightly populated Viliage...
10:45pm
"Tails! You know better than to run off like that, especialy in the
middle of the night!!"
"I'm sory Sonic."
"Sory won't cut it! You were an hour late, what were you doing out that
late? And I want the truth this time!" Sonic said in an annoyed tone.
"I told you, I hurt my ankle in the forest, and I met this realy nice
overlander named Travis. And he made my ankle all better! I'm not lying!!"
"That's it, Tails... I have no other choice... You're grounded! You
are not to leave Knothole untill further notice!!!!" Sonic growled "Now go
to your hut, and think about what you've done! And your not getting dinner
tonight!!" Sonic said.
"Stupid Sonic's been a jerk ever since Sally got cought by Robotnik!"
Groweled Tails
Bunnie cought up to Tails "Shuga' Tails, you know how much Sonic cares
about you, he just doesn't want you to end up like Sally girl."
"I know, but why does Sonic have to be such a jerk?" Tails pouted
"You know how Sonic misses Sally girl, she meant everythin' to him,
now all 'es got left is you, shuga' Tails." Bunny said
"Well, he's sure showin' it funny." Tails answered "I miss aunt
Sally..."
"We all do... We all do." Bunnie said in a disheartened tone.
Tails walked into his hut, and went to bed. A short while later, Dulcy
knocked on his door.
"What do you want?!?" Tails shouted.
"I want to hear what happened out there." Dulcy said
"Why don't you go ask Sonic?" Tails pouted.
"I want to hear it from you, Tails." Dulcy said
"Well,"Tails began "I was out in the great forest, and I hit a tree,
fell to the ground, and messed up my ankle. Then this guy with a lantern
came up and we talked, then he put his hands on my ankle... and it stoped
hurting. We went to his camp, and he made my ankle the rest of the way
better. Then he gave me these candies!" Tails showed Dulcy the bag of
mints lying on the ground.
"You know better than to take candy from strangers!" Dulcy lectured.
"Actualy, I asked for them, and he was eating them too!" Tails insisted
"I believe you, Tails... I'll talk to Sonic for you, okay?" Dulce said
cheerfuly.
"Thanks, Duls."
In Sonic's hut...
"Well, Dulcy, I'll let him off the hook, But only because I know dragons
can tell purity of truth. and dragons can't lie."
Tails Hut
9:34am
Sonic walks into the hut,
"Tails..." Sonic said, rocking at Tails' shoulder "Wake up, big
guy..."
"Sonic?" Tails said, halfway yawning "I hope you're not still mad at
me..."
"No, Dulcy told me about your conversation last night, everything's okay
." Sonic said "I just don't want to lose you, like I did Sally... Like WE
lost Sally..."
"I understand, it's okay." Tails said "I can show you where the site
is".
"Are you sure, Tails? Sonic questioned
"Yes, He may still be there." Tails said smiling
Travis's campsite
10:06am
"Obviously This camp was just abandon a few hours ago." Sonic said
"This tent's been trashed too!"
"And Swatbot tracks!" Said Bunnie
"And there are landing marks from a vehical, one of Robotnik's
vehicals!" Rotor stated.
"Sines of ze' struggle!" Antoine Exclaimed
"And here's That bag of candy I told you about!"
"Looks like this "Travis" guy of yours was hauled off by swatbots..."
Sonic said
"Oh no... He was a cool guy..." Tails Pouted
"Well, let's get back to Knothole." Said Sonic "There's nothing we can
do here or now..."
All the Freedom Fighters rerurned to Knothole.
Robotropolis
1:00pm
Three swatbots were dragging Travis to the chamber where a large man was
waiting.
"Let me go, you stupid tin cans!!!" Travis yelled
"Let our guest go!" said the large man.
"You must be Robotnik." Travis groweled
"I am, and who may I ask are you, fellow overlander?"
Travis felt as if he had met Robotnik before, he didn't know how, and he
didn't like the feeling
"I am called Travis Torric." Travis answered
"You may call me Ivo." Robotnik said cheerfuly "I have great need for
one such as you..."
"Like what?" Travis asked
"Well, I need a cook, can you cook?"
"Cooking is a favorite hobby of mine!, Yes!"
Looking to Snively "Give 'Travis' here the tour of the place"
"You fat ball of pus..." Snively muttered
"WHAT DID YOU SAY SNIVELY?" Robotnik yelled
"I asked if you would have need of us." Snively stated
Snively and Travis went off for the tour.
<> Snively thought to himself. Walking to the prisioner cell "This is
where the prisioners are kept" <>
"Prisioners?"
"Yes, the other Mobians have managed to whipe out most our race. The
prisioners were cought trying to finish the job." Snively said with
confidence.
"I see." Travis said
After making it through the long hall, Snively said "This is the
kitchen" Travis looked in, and saw blood all over the walls.
"I take it that this is also the butcher's room, where do you get the
meat?" Travis inquired
"We have livestock." Snively said "But I'm a vegitarian"
Next Snively and Travis made it to a room, which looked like something
out of a science fiction movie. "This is the Roboticizer chamber." Snively
said
"What's a roboticizer?" Travis asked
"Basicly, It's a mater conversion device." Snively said
"Okay." Travis said, not fully comprehanding exactly what Snively was
saying.
"Any questions?" Snively asked.
"Yes." Travis said "Where do I stay and sleep?
"Across from Robotnik's room, next to mine." Snivley answered
"May I see my room?" Travis asked.
"I guess so" Snively said in an annoyed tone
"Did I do something wrong?" Travis asked
"No." Snively answered
"What's wrong?" Travis asked
"I'd rather not talk about it... Maybe later."
Snively opened a door, and pointed in, "This is your room.. Room two."
The room was well lit, had a nice bed, pictures of Robotnik on the
walls, and his backpack was lying on the bed. Upon further investigation,
Travis found a large walk-in closet, and a refridgarator, full of wilted
vegetables, and raw frozen meat.
"I wouldn't eat that meat, if I were you, trust me on this one" Snively
said
"Why?" Travis said
"Trust me on this one, If I told you, I could get into trouble, just
trust me." Snively said in a serious tone.
"Okay, I'll take your word on this one." Travis said, with a puzzled
look on his face.
Just then, Robotnik entered the room "I see your done with the tour."
Robotnik crowed "Your first duty, is to clean out the roboticizer."
"Okay." Travis said
After making their way to the roboticizer chamber, Snively opened a
large closet. Inside was a mop, mop bucket with wheels, spray bottles,
bleach, drums of cleaners, and towels. Snively began to pump some chemicals
into the bucket, and said "This is how you opperate the wringer..."
"I know how to work a mop wringer, I used to be a janitor!" Travis said
"Good, then you're ready to clean the cylenders. To open the cylenders,
hit the button labeled 'maintanence', understand?" Snively said in a
lecturing voice
"Yes!" Travis sain enthousiasticly
"Good, I'll leave you to your work." Snively went out the door, as if a
bomb were going to go off. Travis didn't understand, untill he opened the
cylinders...
"Wheupp!" Travis was now nauseous "Erp...Who died in here!!"
"Geoffery StJohn did, sort of. and you might want to use gloves, and
hit the vent button, on the controll panel" Snively said
Travis darted over and hit the ventilation button, then got the gloves,
filled the bucket with water and chemicals, and started to mop the bases of
the cylendars, constantly fighting the urge to vomit, On the base of the
roboticizer was dried urine, caked blood, burnt fur, and scorched flesh.
About six hours later, Travis finished the entire room... Everything
smelled like pine. Snively walked in. "Good job, and you only took six
hours!"
"When was the last time this room was cleaned?" Travis asked
"Yesterday." Snively answered
"?!?!?!" Travis was speachless, his jaw dropped.
"Cleaning this room everyday isn't a pleasant task" Snively said
"Why can't robots do it?!?!" Travis said loudly
"It takes months to reprogram a swatbot into another janitor" Snively
said "Anyway, there is one being built now."
"What happened to the old one?" Travis asked
"It got destroyed by a prisioner, but she's in block A-5 now. You can
get a good look at the little brat when you clean that cell block." Snively
said
"More janitorial work?" Travis groaned "I hate janitorial work!!"
"I thought you were a janitor?" Snively said half surprised
"That doesn't mean I like the work!" Travis said, slightly raising his
voice.
"Janitorial work is the easiest work here, do you wan to try being
around Robotnik all day?" Snively said in his lecturing tone of voice.
"That could be arranged!"
"I think I'll stick with cleanup." Travis said
"Good choice." Snively said sternly "Anyway, you're off untill tomorow
morning, at 0600 hours, meet me in cell block A-5, you remember where that
is, don't you?"
"Yes, I do." Travis said
"Dont be late!" Snively concluded
Travis went to his room, and went into his backpack for the rest of his
mint candies, but they weren't there, nor were his tent or lantern, at least
he had a few cans of Jookie. Travis opened the can, drank the contents of
the container, and to his surprise, He won a hundred thousand dollars.
<> Travis thought to himself <> Travis set the alarm for
5:00, and went to sleep.
Travis had the same nightmare, the tortured female, and Robotnik. The
female was in a cage this time, in the kitcken. He heard a fire allarm, and
woke up.
It turned out that the fire allarm was realy the allarm clock.
Travis tried to remember the dream, but couldn't.
Travis was hungry, and went to the refridgerator,and opened it. Travis
reached for a meat package, but fealt his hand knocked away by some unseen
force. a chill filled the room, too cold to come from the fridge, Travis
fealt a presence enter the room, but saw no one. Travis was scared, and he
ran out of the room, to Snively's room, and started to knock at the door
franticly. Snively opened the door. "What is it? We don't work for another
hour!"
"A ghost! A GHOST!!! THE ROOM'S HAUNTED!!!!" Travis said franticaly
"Were you in the fridge when this happened?" Snively asked
"Y...y...yes!" Travis said in panic
"Did you touch with the meat?" Snivel asked, as if he allready knew the
answer
"H...How did you know?" Travis muttered.
"The meat's haunted." Snivley answered
"Why hasn't it been desposed of?!?" Travis clucked
"We tried, but every swatbot we send explodes." Snively said
"Only one way to deal with haunted animal matter..." Travis said
"And that is?" Snively said,somewhat puzzled
"Burry it!" Travis said with confidence.
The next thing Snively knew, Travis was pushing the fridge down the hall
"you got a shovel, Snively?"
"There's one in the closet in the roboticizor chamber" Snively said
Fifteen minutes later, Travis was out in the remains of a field burrying
the meat
"All done!" Travis said.
"I don't believe it, you got rid of the meat!" Snively exclaimed.
"Let's get to that cell."Travis said.
Travis and snively entered cell A-5. Snively pointed to an occupied
cell, "This is Sally Acorn, the one who destroyed the janitorial robot."
Travis looked in, and saw a brown fured creature, she looked very
familiar, but didn't know where from. "She's cute, how could a small one
like this destroy a robot twice as strong as me?" Looking at Sally, Travis
felt great sympathy. His heart jumped up into his throat, All she was was
skin, fur, and bones. across from her was a plate full of fresh vegies.
"Why isn't she eating?" Travis said
"The plate's electrified." Snively answered
"What!?! that's horrible! I couldn't think of anything more disgustingly
evil!!" Travis said
"How can you sit here, and let this happen!?!
"I feel bad about it too, but I can't do anything about it... Robotnik
would turn me into a paperweight!" Snively said
"How long is this going to last?" Travis said
"She'll be out of this in two days." Snively said, with his head hanging
down. "We have to get to work. We shouldn't even be discussing her.
"What will be done with her in two days?" Travis asked.
"I've said too much, let's get back to work." Snively said
A half hour later, the filth was gone from the cellblock and it smelled
like pine.
"We don't have to clean the roboticizor , because it wasn't used
today... So you can have the rest of the day off." Snively said while
leaving the room.
Travis stayed in the room, looking at Sally's shaking body. Travis
opened the cell, and went in, sat down by Sally, and spoke to her.
"So, your locked up in here." Travis said "I bet your hungry, aren't
you?"
Sally looked to Travis, but said nothing.
"Not a talker, are ya?" Travis tried to snatch a carrot of of the
plate, but got zapped. "I bet that gets annoying real fast." "Here's how
ya' do it!" Travis moved his boot over, and tipped the metal plate. the
vegies went all over the floor. Travis picked up the largest carrot, and
placed it into Sally's hand. "It won't hurt you." Travis said. Sally
started to eat the carrot. "Are you thirsty?" Travis said, handing Sally a
full waterskin. Sally grabbed the waterskin, and drank it's entire
contents, then smiled. "t..h..ank..." She said "You're welcome." Travis
said, "I'll stay here for a few hours, okay?"
"S..stay?" She muttered.
"Yes, I'll stay." Travis replied
About an hour later, A voice came over the intercom:

Travis went to the comunicator on the wall and answered it,
"Travis, I need you in the roboticizer chamber, now!" Robotnik said
"I'll be right there." Travis said
Travis looked to Sally "I have to leave, I'll be back, I promise."
Sally looked to Travis, frouned, closed her eyes, and nodded.
Travis met up with Robotnik in the roboticizer chamber.
"There is something I want you to do for me, are you up to it? "Robotnik
asked
"I guess..." Travis replied
"Hit this button" Robotnik pointed to a button labeled 'Discharge
plasma'. Travis pressed the button, and wathced in horror.
The creature inside began to scream, a humming filled the room, a blue
light filled the chamber, wires flew around the inside of the cylender,
Blood and other liquids covered the cylender, and floor. Now, blinding
light filled the room. When all was finished, the cylender lifted, and the
creature inside was covered in metal... it was metel, a robot! Travis
looked to his hands

"Prety fun, eh?" Robotnik chuckled
Still somewhat shocked "Uh...uh... sure..." Travis said.
"Don't wory, Torric, you don't have to clean up this time, the janitoral
robot is finished" Robotnic said, grinning.
"Permission to leave?" Travis said
"Of course." Robotnik replied
"Thank you." Travis said as he left the room
Travis went straight back to cellblock A-5, and sat down next to Sally's
cage, the food there was eaten. "I'm back." Travis said. Sally sat up, and
crawled up to the bars of her cell.
"This Robotnik guy is pure evil, I could sense bad karma flying of of
him. I'm thinking about leaving, you want to go with me?" Travis said.
Sally nodded.
"It'll take me a day or two to figure out a plan, I can't keep these
evil doings up for long, either."
Travis could hear the door being opened, so he jumped to his feet, just
in time. A swatbot walked in "WHAT-ARE-YOU-DOING-WITH-PRISIONER?" it said
"Um... Nothing, just securing the gates" Travis replied
"IT-IS-TEN-O-CLOCK" The 'bot said
"Thank you, I'm going to go to bed now."
"GOOD."
Travis looked to Sally, winked, and left. Sally winked back.
That night, Travis's room got cold, just like the morning, Travis was
scared.
"Fear not, Travis Torric, for I have come to thank you for putting my
remains to rest. Judging from your conversations with Sally, I see you as a
compasionate person. I will now do you a favor in return, now, or later."
a strange voice said, the voice was that of the wind, and rustling leaves.
"How did you know my name?" Travis asked
"I am a spirit, my name was Tarlex" the voice said
"I may need a favor later." Travis replied "
"Just call my name if you need me."
"I will." Travis replied
"Goodnight, Travis" The voice said
"G'night, Tarlex" Travis said
Travis went to sleep, and dreamt another nightmare...
Travis was in the kitchen, Robotnik brought in a cage, Sally was inside,
beaten and bruised
"Would you cook this for me?" Robotnik asked
Travis woke up screaming, but like before, couldn't remember his dream.
Travis heard a knocking at his door. Travis ran to his door, and
answered it, it was Snively
"Why are you yelling, Travis?!?"
"I had a horrible nightmare!" Answered Travis
"What about?" Snively asked
"I don't remember." Travis answered
"Well, keep it down!" Snively snarled.
"I'll try, sorry I woke you up." Travis said "I'll make a few rounds,
since I can't sleep"
Snively went back to his bedroom. Travis walked into the control
center, and looked at the monitors, one of the monitors cought his eye, cell
block A-5, Robotnik was beating on Sally!
"No!" Travis growled. And had a sense of repitition. He'll pay for
this! Travis ran down to cell block A-5, when he got there, he lookedinto
Sally's cell, his heart sunk. Sally was covered in blood, huddeling in the
corner, shaking.
"Sally, it's me, Travis."
"B...b..." Sally muttered
"You can't take any more of this... I'll have to get you out of here,
and soon!" Travis said while stroking Sally's fur "Just hold out a little
longer, okay kid?"
Travis snuck out of the cellblock, and made it back to his bedroom.

The alarm clock started to go off. Travis went to Snively's door, and
knocked on it.
"What do you want?" Snively said
"Do you have any food in there?" Travis asked
The door opened
"Here." Snively handed Travis a sandwich
"Thanks!" Travis looked down <>
Travis heard the intercom

Travis picked up the intercom receiver
"Yes?"
"Would you like to run the roboticizer for the day?" Robotnik asked
"No thanks, I've got a refridgerator to clean out, it could take a few
hours..." Travis replied.
"The on with the ghost in it?!?" Robotnik asked
"Yes, the one with the ghost!" Travis replied
"I heard you got the ghost out of it, how did you do it?"Robotnik asked
"I burried the animal matter in it." Travis said
"I see." said Robotnik. "I would like you to clean the kitchen today,
then you have the day off."
"Okay, I'll clean it."
Travis replaced the reciever on the hook, ate his sandwich, and went to
the kitchen. <> Travis
thought to himself.
After over seven hours, Travis had the entire kitchen cleaned up, all
the blood on the walls, the grease on the walls and stove, the grease on the
floor, and all the dishes and pots washed and put away.
2:15pm
Cellblock A-5
Travis was with Sally again
"I'm sorry, Sally, but I haven't figured a way to get you out of here
yet, I figured I'd come down to visit you, are you allright?" Travis asked
Sally shook her head 'no'.
"What's wrong?" Travis asked
Sally pionted to her ankle, it was puffed up, as if it were broken.
"I can help you with that, come here." Travis insisted "This won't hurt"
Sally dragged herself up to the bars, Travis reached out, and placed
both hands on her ankle. Sally jerked back.
"I'm not going to hurt your ankle, let me do this, I know what I'm
doing." said Travis
Sally moved her ankle where Travis could reach it. Travis placed both
his hands on Sally's ankle. Sally's ankle felt hot, but not painful. an
hour later, Travis removed his hands, and her ankle was healed.
"I don't want to get caught here, you're being punished, I guess.
I'm sure you had a good reason to destroy that swatbot, but if I'm
cought, it won't help either one of us. Snively said they were going to do
something with you tomorow, and I don't have any ideas yet."
Sally frowned, a tear rolled down her cheek.
Travis sat with Sally for eight hours longer. Realizing how late it
was, Travis prepaired to leave.
"Sally, I'll be back first thing tomorow morning, okay?" said Travis,
in an assuring manner "Hopefuly, I'll have an idea by then."
Just then, a Swatbot entered to room "WHAT-ARE-YOU-DOING-TO-PRISIONER?"
"The usuaL... tourment, harrassment, and teasing" Travis said
"GOOD-BE-SURE-TO-SECURE-GATE-WHEN-YOU-ARE-DONE."
"IT-IS-ELEVEN-O-CLOCK" The swatbot said as it left the room
"I-AM-A-TIN-HEADED-IDIOT" Travis said said mockingly "you gotta' love
these guys, I've seen better heads on beer mugs!"
Sally chuckled.
"I got ya' ta' laugh!" said Travis "I'll se ya tomorow, okay"
When Travis reached his bedroom, Snivley was waiting, tapping his foot.

"Travis, I was waiting here to tell you that your food materializer
works now." Said Snively "The food it makes isn't very good, but it's better
than wilted vegies..."
"Or haunted hamburgers" Travis interupted "I was just wondering, who
actualy eats the meat?"
"Robotnik eats it and that's what the prisioners are fed too" Said
Snively.
"That's disgusting" Travis said, as he entered his room."Tarlex, are
you there?"
"Yes, I'm here... are you ready for that favor?" said the ghost
"No." Travis replied "I wanted to know something... Will it count as
the favor"
"For you? No, it won't count... Ask your question." Tarlex said
"Why is the meat haunted?" Travis asked
"Only one kind of meat is haunted." Said Tarlex
"What kind of meat is that?" Travis asked
"Meat from an inteligent life form." Tarlex answered "Robotnik
doveloped a taste for mobian flesh, about a year and a half ago."
"Ewwww! That's sick!" Travis said in disgust "Now I know why
Snively's a vegitarian." "Why did Robotnik start eating peoplecreatures?"
"I was a 'Peoplecreature'!" said Tarlex "we chose to be called
'people' "
"I'm sorry." Travis said "I meant no insult"
"None taken." Tarlex replied "Robotnik started eating Mobians shortly
after he took up black magic, and dabbling in the dark arts."
"That's why I felt all that bad karma from him!" Travis exclaimed
"You sensed bad karma?" Tarlex asked "What did it feel like?"
"It was like a bad smell, but not from the nose, more from the heart."
Travis replied, "why?"
"And when you are around Sally, what do you sense?" Tarlex asked
"Well, like coming in from the cold, and sitting infront of a fireplace,
except the warmth is inside, more like a hot toddy than a fireplace." Travis
said "Why do you need to know?"
"And you can heal with a mere touch?" Tarlex asked
"Yes! Why are you asking?!?" Travis said,
"Just curious" Tarlex said <> Tarlex thought.
"When was the last time you were sick?" Tarlex asked
"Come to think of it, About four years ago. maybe longer, I'm pretty
healthy!" Travis said proudly

Tarlex thought to himself "Do you know what a Star Knight is?
"Like in Cellars and Lizards?" Travis said
"The Earthen roleplay game? Yes, that kind of Star Knight." Tarlex said
"Yhea, I have a character who's a Star Knight." Travis said
"And what do you know about Star Knights?" Tarlex said
"They can sense evil, they are imune to sickness of all sorts, and they
can heal with..." Travis stoped mid-word "You're not suggesting I'm a..."
"A Star Knight?" Tarlex said,"Yes, I am."
"But that's all make believe, or I thought it was." Travis said
"And ghosts and talking animals are make believe too, I suppose? Tarlex
said
"Well, ghosts are make... Wait, your a ghost, right?" Asked Travis
"Yes, I am." Tarlex replied
"But me? a Star Knight? But...but..." Travis said
"Why not? There have been other Star Knights on this world" Tarlex said.
"Okay, what if I am?" Travis said, half jokeingle "What then? Do I get
spells too?"
"You should." Tarlex said "Let's try one!"
"Oh sure, and I tnink I saw a pig fly by!" Travis said sarcasticaly
"Then humor me...let's try one." Tarlex said
"What do I do?" Travis asked
"Get the rotten vegies from the refridgerator." Tarlex said
"But it's outside... Oh wait, the 'bots brought it back" Travis said,
getting the rotting vegies "What now?
"Place them on the desk, hold your hand over them, and repeat after
me..." Tarlex said "An Rot Sust Sol!!!"
Travis placed the rotting vegetable matter on his desk, Held his hand
over the food, and said "An Rot Sust Soll!".
What Travis saw next astonished him, the foodstuffs in front of him
looked like a fast foreward time lapse video, in reverse!. Now, before
Travis, wa a bounty of fresh vegetables!
"What will you do with this food?" Tarlex asked
"Well, Snively was nice enough to give me a peanutbutter and jelly
sandwich, I guess I'll return the favor." Travis replied, as he gathered
the food. Travis walked over to Snivley's room, and knocked on his door.
Snivley answered the door "What do you want this late at night"
"I brought you something... Fresh vegies!" Travis exclaimed.
"yes, I can get those too, I've got a food materializer, too. Plants
always come out limp, and flavorless." Snively said
"But these are real!" Travis said
"Let me see those!" Snivley took a carrot, and broke it in half, and
bit off a piece "It's real! Where did you get these?"
"Magic!" Travis said "Can I come in?"
"Sure, but make it quick!" Snively said
"Watch!" Travis said. Travis opened Snivley's refridgerator, pulled
out some rotten plant matter, placed it on the desk, placed his hand over
it, and said " An Rot Sust Soll!!"
A minute passed, then two... But nothing happened.
"Umm.... An Rot Sust Soll!!!!!" Travis said, still nothing
"Okay, Travis... neat trick, but I have to go to bed. I'll see you in
the morning. Thanks for the food" said Snivley, as he ushered Travis out
of his bed room. Travis went back to his own room.
"Allright, Tarlex, what happened? Why didn't the spell work?!?" Travis
said
"Have you heard of something called 'Mana"?"
"Oh man! I forgot all about that!"
"Apparently, you only have enough mana for one spell" Tarlex
said.
"That bites!" Travis said
"Not realy" Tarlex said "Most people don't get any magic whatsoever,
and only a miniscuel amount of people become Star Knights! Eventualy, with
practice, you could become a powerful magic user, but beware, do not
depend on magic, it can corrupt! Selfish use of magic almost always
corrupts the soul! What you just did, giving that food away, was good.
Using magic for others, for good use, will increase your power! Now if you
want your mana back, you need to rest."
"Before I go to bed, could you tell me what is going to hapen to Sally
tomorow?" Travis asked
"Robotnik will try to have her cooked." Tarlex said
"Cooked!?!? No, he can't!" Travis exclaimed
"Now try to get some rest, you'll need that mana tomorow! Said Tarlex
"How can I sleep, I have nightmares every night, ones I can never
remember!
"I'll try to help you with the dreams, you go to sleep" Tarlex said
Travis went to sleep, and began to dream.
Again, he was in the kitchen, again Robotnik walked in with Sally,
crammed into a small cage. Again he said "Can you cook this for me"
This time, Travis was not scared. Tarlex appeared "Travis, you are
dreaming, this is in your mind, you can stop it whenever you want! You
have the power!!!"
Travis looked to Robotnik, and said alloud "BURN!!!" Robotnik burst
into flames, and the cage fell appart. Travis smiled in reliefe.
Travis woke up from the most restfull sleep he had in weeks
"I remembered the dream!!!'
Travis ran down to cellblock A-5, but Sally wasn't there.
"Noooooooo!!!!"
Travis heard the intercom,

Travis Torric to the kitchen...NOW!!!
Travis ran to the kitchen. now he was standing in the place he stood in
his dream, Robotnik walked in, placed the cage with Sally in it onto the
counter, and said "Can you cook this for me?"
Travis tried to say "Burn!" but it caught in his throat. "I'll be
expecting my dinner at nineish."
"But this is a real person, I can't cook her!" Travis managed to say
"WAS a real person! After fourteen months of pure torture, she's no
more than a comon animal! Now I want roast squirl by nine 'o' clock, you
hear me?!?
"Yes, sir." Travis said.
"Roast squirl, 'eh I'll give him roast squirl...NOT!!!" Travis grinned
"Now we need ingredients!!!"
"Don't worry, Sally, you're not on the menu. All we're servin' up
tonight is humble pie!" Travis said in a sinister voice, letting Sally out
of the cage "You can help me! I'm sick and tired of that tub o' lard
ordering me to do his evil things, and those horific cleanup duties!!!"
Travis looked under the sink for "Ingredients" Travis pulled out
several bottled of cleaning fluids and soaps, and a box of rat poison.
"And this one smells like Draino!... Hey Sally, could you check the
refridgerator for a turkey, or chicken?" Sally just stood there smiling
"Too week to walk, I'll get it myself..." Travis said
After looking in the walk in, Travis found what he was looking for, a
frozen tukey, under a pile of cardboard, It had frozen mold all over it,
and most likely was rotten "Perfect! This will do just fine!"
Travis thawed out the turkey, and thought to himself <>
Travis looked to Sally "You want me to see if I can find you something
to eat?"
Sally nodded.
"I know i saw some nice yummy peanutbutter around here somewhere."
Travis said
A bag of assorted nuts fell out of a copboard, Sally saw it, and started
to mope. Travis saw the bag, and carried it to Sally, who tore the bag open
and started to stuff her mouth with the contents
Travis looked to Sally and said "You will have to hide in the place
under the counter, okay?"
Sally nodded, so Travis placed her into the compartment, and began to
work on the turkey. Just as he closed the compartment doors, Travis heard
loud footstepps, and dipped a towel in a bucket of red liquid, and whiped
off the counter with it, Robotnik walked in, and saw what appeared to be
blood all over the counter.
"Smells good, and here I thought you were going to take pitty on the
rat, good job! You see, she was just a worthless animal! Keep up the good
work!" Robotnik left the kitchen
"She's more human than you are, Mr. Wide Load..." Travis mumbled.
Travis grabbed the box of rat poison, and dumped it into a large mixing
bowl, and prepared the turkey as he normaly would. Despite the turkey
having some rot on it, it smelled fairly decent (It would have smelled
better, if it weren't for the charred bones in the oven.
The clock chimed nine times "Uh-oh, here comes ton's of fun now.
Travis pulled out the turkey, and placed it on the table.
"What do we have here, an appitizer?" Robotnik crowed "Where's the rat?"

smiled (Mostly at his one liner) "Uh... the 'rat' was over cooked,
sir, all that was left was this charcoal." Travis pulled out the large tray
of charcoal " Um, I'm sorry, sir, but... I don't cook well when I'm
nervous. I also made eggs benedict, from two dozen eggs."
"Why were you nervous?" Robotnik asked.
"Uh..<> I haven't slept well lately."
Travis answered
"Do I taste a hint of rat poison?" Robotnik asked
"Umm " <> "uh..."
"Wouldn't ya know it, I've always liked it as a seasoning!... Excelent
turkey, Mr Torric!" Robotnik said "Why don't you have some?"
"Uh, no... rat poison always gave me a bit of... indigestion" Travis
replied
"Popycock! you must try this! I insist!" Robotnik said
"Okay, I'll try it..." Travis said, sitting down at the table.
Robotnik handed a turkey leg to Travis. Travis heald his hand over the
turkey leg, and spoke "An Rot Sust Soll", then ate the turkey.
It actualy tasted good, very good! (Considering he neutralized any
poison, and purified any rot left on the turkey) "I'm stuffed!" Travis said
as he got the eggs benidict. "Here it is... enjoy!" Travis set the tray
down in front of Robotnik, who was nearly done with the turkey. <> Travis
thought to himself. Travis waited by the table, with his back turned of
course, untill Robotnik was done.
"Good meal, I look foreward to another, sometime in the near future!"
Robotnik said as he left the kitchen.
"You can come out, Sally... Oopse, I forgot, you can't move much."
Travis said,"Let's see, how can I smuggle you upstairs without being
caught?... AH HA! A tablecloth!" Travis wrapped Sally up in the
tablecloth. "You feel like a sack of potatoes!"
On his way up to his bedroom, Travis was stopped by Robotnik "What do we
have here?"
"A sack of potatoes, I'm going to peel them tonight." Travis said.
"Okay, just make sure that tablecloth find's it's way to the laundry
shoot." Robotnik said.
Travis went into his bed room, and unwrapped Sally "You're all safe
now!" Travis said "Tarlex! are you here?"
"Yes, I am, what do you need?" Tarlex replied "I see you got Sally up
here, what now?
"I'm ready for that favor now!" Travis exclaimed
"Finaly, what can I do, wealth, precious gems, a chaos emerald or two,
destruction of a continent, immortality?" Tarlex asked
"No, I want you to guard and protect Sally, untill she's all better...
That's all." Replied Travis
"You give your favor to another?!?" Tarlex asked
"Yes, I'd never forgive myself if she got hurt." Travis replied
"A generous gift, one I could acomodate." said Tarlex
"Better yet, could you heal her?" Travis asked
"No, I cannot heal her type of injury, the only thing that will heal her
mind is time, But I will gladly protect her, if that's what you truely
want..." said Tarlex
"It is!" said Travis.
"So be it!" Tarlex said "And because your request was for another,
I will teach you as much magic as i can."
"I thought you were going on your eternal rest!" Travis said
"Rest, I cant rest untill Robotnik is defeated, only then can I rest."
"By teaching you magic, I will defeat the evil one, then I will rest..."
Tarlex said.
"Okay, Sally, you're going to stay in the closet" I don't want you to
get cought in here." Travis said, as he placed one of his two pillows into
the closet. Next he placed Sally's limp body on the pillow. After he
closed the closet, he heard her begin to cry.
"Don't like dark?" said Travis, as he opened the closet door
"hold on..." Travis went through his pack, and got his lithium battery
flashglight/minilantern. "It's not much, but it's light." Travis closed
the door again, and heard Sally humm a cheerful tune, then he went to sleep.
Travis started to dream. Before him, Sally stood "Thank you for
getting me out of that nightmare, I knew you would help me. And I thank
you very deeply for giving me your favor that Tarlex gave you, I wish I
could repay you, somehow."
"Am I dreaming?" Travis said
"Yes, you are." Sally said
"So you're not realy talking to me then, right?" Asked Travis
"I'm communicating with you telepathicaly." Sally said.
Travis noticed that Sally was wearing boots and a blue vest, but paid it
no atention.
"I hope you don't mind me entering your dreams." said Sally
"I don't mind, I can get to know you better this way. Why don't you
talk like this when you're awake?"
"It all gets caught in my throat, and it hurts to talk." said Sally
"Why does it hurt?" Travis asked
"The first days after my capture, I was subjected to torture... Pain
amplifiers, hot coals, floggings, and other, more horrible things." Sally
said
"What kind of other things? Travis asked.
"I'd rather not talk about it, it was very personal..." said Sally
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you." said Travis
"That's okay." said Sally
"Why don't you talk?" Travis asked "If you don't mind telling me, that
is."
"Screaming for two months straight messed up my vocal cords." Sally
said
"Any other reasons?" asked Travis
"Yes, There is an implant, in my neck, if I talk, I get zapped." Sally
said
"I could heal your neck, like I did your ankle." said Travis
"How did you fix my ankle, you never told me?"
"Tarlex told me that I might be a Star Knight." Travis said
"Excuse me, Travis... I said you ARE a Star Knight" Tarlex said
"Oh, I get it, three way calling!" said Travis
"Three way what?" Sally said
"An Earth joke, never mind, it's over your head" Travis said
"Earth?" said Sally "As in soil?"
"No, it's my homeworld." Travis said
"So, Sally, how do we get that implant out?" Travis said
"It must be removed by a physician, one who knows how to remove it, or
it'll explode, and blow my head off." said Sally
"So you can't talk at all with the implant?" asked Travis
"I can whisper, but that's it." responded Sally.
"That monster Robotnik will pay for his cruelty!" growled Travis
"When you wake up, could you fix me throat? Please?" asked Sally
"I would have to be prety selfish with my abilities not to help, of
course I'll held you!" Travis said
"Thank you so much!"Sally said
"I hate to interupt you two, but it's about five o' clock... " said
Tarlex " Travis, if yo get up now, you'll have a half an hour to heal
Sally's throat, twenty minutes to eat, five minutes to get to your duties,
and five to be early! And while your gone, I'll tend to Sally, deal?
"And while your at it, could you find my cloths and my pocket computer,
Nicole?" said Sally
"I will do my best!" said Travis.
"Wake up, Travis!" said Tarlex
Travis awakens
"What a weird dream..." said Travis
"It was not a dream, Travis." Tarlex said "It was a dream, but the
conversation was genuine. By the way, you got a level, Travis."
"A level? you mean I can go up stairs now? Travis said
"No, I mean you got a level of experience." said Tarlex
"... Oh, the Star Knight thing?, right?" asked Travis
"Yep!" said Tarlex "One problem, if you gain another level in
Robotropolis, Robotnik will be able to sense your goodness, so I'd start
working on a way out of here."
"So how long do I have before my next 'level' ?" Travis asked
"At your rate, a month. And another thing, You should be careful about
lying, or roboticizing anyone. Your powers could be temporarily
suspended." said Tarlex
"Don't sweat, I'm never touching that roboticizor, except maybe to trash
it!" Travis boasted
"Way to go, Travis!" said Tarlex By the way, you waisted five minutes.
Travis walked to the closet, and opened the closet door. Inside Sally
was playing quietly with the flashlight he gave her. "This won't hurt..."
Travis placed his right hand on Sally's neck. then something happened,
something different! His hand began to glow with a faint, but visible
light.
Twenty minutes later, Travis sensed that he was done. "I guess I'm done"
"Done?" asked Tarlex " you should have taken at least ten more minutes!"
"No, I think I'm done, I get an odd feeling when I complete the healing
process." said Travis
"Amaizing, Your powers are greater than I thought!" Said Tarlex.
Travis went to the window, and opened the curtains, "That's why my
abilities were enhanced!"
"What is it, Travis?" Tarlex asked.
"Sunlight!" exclaimed Travis "It strengthens my abilities!"
"Exrtaordinary!" said Tarlex
"My abilities?" asked Travis
"No, the sunlight!" said Tarlex
"It is beautifull to behold, isn't it!" said Travis
"Yes, it is, but that's not the point..." said Tarlex "The sun never
shines in Robotropolis!"
"There's a first time for everything!" said Travis "and I know someone
who need a little sunlight in her day..."
Travis went to his closet, and carried Sally to the window. Sally had a
joyful look on her face, she thought she would never see the light of day,
ever again. "Th...Thank..." she whispered to Travis.
In the sunlight, Travis and Sally say a translucent form of a pail
white-quilled Hedgehog, wearing a light robe.
"Tarlex? is that you? asked Travis
The form looked to Travis "Yes, this is what I looked like, in life" .
"You were killed in your bath robe?" asked Travis "That's an aufil
way to go!"
"It's a wizard's robe, dummy!" said Tarlex
"Sorry." Travis apologized
The door opened, and a combot entered the room "FREEDOM FIGHTER
LOCATED... EXTERMINATING..." The combot raised his plasma rifle to Sally's
head...
"NOOOOO!! Yelled Travis
Sally began to whine.
All of a sudden, the combot was lying on the ground, smoking... it's
plasma rifle lying on the floor.
"I just love roatsing Robotnik's robots!" said Tarlex
"I just had an Idea!" exclaimed Travis
"What is it?" asked Tarlex
"Have you ever tried to posessed someone, or something?" asked Travis
"Well, I possessed Snively once, but not for long" said Tarlex
"Why not?" asked Travis
"Snivley's will was too strong, I couldn't hold on." Tarlex answered
"Have you ever tried to occupy a swatbot, or a combot?" Travis asked
"They have no will."
"You know, I never tried." Tarlex said
"If I could blank a combot's memory core, and it's programing center,
you'd have no problem Occupying it's body!" exclaimed Travis"
"A new body...?" Tarlex pondered "This could be a good thing, but how
do you suppose we could gat a combot body? a combot won't just sit down
and let you pick it's head..."
"I have an idea!" said Travis. "Trust me!"
Travis walked out into the hall, and waited for a combot to walk by.
Four minutes later, a combot walked by
"By order of Robotnik, you are to enter this room, and guard a
prisioner, she is dangerous, but by order of Robotnik, you are not to hurt
her!" Travis did his best to match Robotnik's voice.
The combot entered the room, and stood motionless, and spoke "FREEDOM
FIGHTER NEUTRALIZED, INITIATING GUARD PROGRAMING... DONE!"
Travis removed the top of the combot's head, and hit the manual shutdown
switch, and discharged different parts of memory backup, then turned it back
on...
"UNIT MEMORY CORE BLANK, AWAITING PROGRAMING" combot
"It's all done!" Travis said
At first, the combot was silent, then...
"Where did the combot go?" the combot said, with Tarlex's voice.
"I think you're in it..." said Travis
Tarlex's combot went to the mirror "I look terrible!"
"We can customize your body later" Travis said
"Let me try to cast a spell..." Tarlex said "In Sust Soll!"
Just then, a large pile of fruit appeared on the desk
"I still got it!" Tarlex said as he picked up the plasma cannon "I'll
stay here, and guard Sally... and you go to work, Robotnik can't know about
the formation of our little group."
"Understood!" said Travis."I'll be going now."
Travis left the bedroom, and met up with Robotnik in the war room
"I have a task for you"" he said "I need you th wash my transport ship"
Robotnik lead Travis into the hangar, and pointed to a larg black ship
"I want it washed and waxed, so I can see my face in it"
"Okay, I'l get right on it, but I need to get something from my room."
said Travis
Travis wen't back to his bed room.
"I got a plan, it'll get us all out of here!" Travis said "I've got a
getaway vehical, let's go, before we're caught!.
Travis ran through the corrador, Tarlex followed, carrying Sally's limp
body. They made it to the hangar "We're here!" Travis said. Travis and
Tarlex ran for the ship, but Travis was shot in the leg by a stunbeam, and
lost his ability to walk "Run Tarlex!!! Run! Don't look back!! I'll be
fine! Take Sally to her home, and get her out of here!" Swatbot's fired
at Tarlex, but miraculously Tarlex and Sally made it into the transport
ship, and shot through the hangar door, and flew away.
"Travis, I sensed something in you that disturbed me, but I couldn't
figure it out... UNTILL NOW! You're with Tarlex, the wizard! His ghost
has haunted my fortress for a decade! And I still sense something from you,
almost as if you were a... no, you couldn't be..." I'll make you wish you
never defied me, and you will regret ever assisting that little tramp, Sally
Acorn!" You will suffer the same punishment as that brat Sally! Grrrrr!!!"
Robotnik continued "I don't know what you saw in her, she's just an
animal!"
"She's more human than you are!" Travis growled
"You will pay for that comment..."Combots, take him to cell block A-5!"
10:24am
Aboard the escape craft
"Are you allright, Sally?" Tarlex asked
Sally shook he head 'no' "b..Travis..." she whispered. then she began
to whine.
"Don't wory too much about him, his Star Knight aura will protect him
from being roboticized" Tarlex said to Sally "We'll be at Knothole in two
hours"
Tarlex ripped out the tracking circuitry, and crushed it, then set
headings for Knothole Viliage.
10:30am
Roboticizer chamber
"Instead of turturing you, I've decided to roboticize you! Robotnik
grinned "Any last words?"
"Yes! I hope you rot in the Abyss!!!!" Yelled Travis
"Now!"said Robotnik "Do it!"
Travis said a silent prayer.
The chamber lit with a bright blue light, two minutes later the light
stoped.
"Whot!?! Nothing happened!" Robotnik shouted "Not a single metal
plate!" "Let ME do it!"
Robotnik powered up the roboticizer again, the blue light came and
went... still nothing, not a hair was roboticized
10:35am
Travis's former bed room
A small metalic quilled figure entered the room, took Travis's backpack,
and left.

Cell block A-5
"You will stay here!, this is the cell your 'beloved' rat stayed in!
Ha ha ha ha!" Robotnik laughed "If you need any food, TOUGH!" The obease
figure walked ot the main door, leaving Travis alone in the cell.
"I'm hungry... here it goes..." Travis said "In Sust Soll!"
"In front of Travis appeared a large banquet

"In sust Hydrus!" Travis chanted , a pitcher of water appeared in front
of Travis "Viola!"
Travis sat down and enjoyed his dinner, and went to sleep.
12:15pm
Near knothole
After leaving the ship, Tarlex carried Sally to knothole viliage
"Aunt Sally? AUNT SALLY!"Yelled Tails as he got a focus on Sally. as he
got closer, he noticed Tarlex's combot body "COMBOT!" screamed Tails
"You put her down NOW! You evil combot"
Tarlex knelt down "She needs medical assistance!" said Tarlex
"You talked... like one of us?" said Tails, looking at Tarlex "How?"
"I am, was, well... I used to be a great wizard... Tarlex of the
Four winds!" Tarlex said
"But everyone knows Tarlex was killed by Robotnik!" said Tails
"I was, but my spirit found this body, actualy, a Star Knight named
Travis prepaired this body for me!"
"Travis!? Was he an overlander?" asked Tails
"As a matter of fact, yes, he was!" answered Tarlex and he's in great
need of help "But first, he wanted me to return Sally to her home, above
all else!"
"Aunt Sally? " said Tails "Can you hear me?"
Sally nodded 'yes'
"C'mon! Let's get her to Knothole!"
A few minutes later, Tarlex, Tails, and Sally arived at knothole
"We're back!!!" Tails yelled.
"All eyes were on the three, but the widest of eyes were Sonic's.
"SAL!" said Sonic "Tails? Where did you find her?"
"Tarlex brought her here!"
"Uh, Tails, Tarlex is dead!"
"But his ghost is in this combot!"
"Are you sure you're okay, Shugga' Tails?" Asked Bunnie
"He is." answered Tarlex
"A combot that don't talk like a robot, that's new." said Bunnie
"I am Tarlex, the great wizard!"
"And I'm Robotnik," said Sonic
"No, your Sonic!" said Tarlex
"How does a combot become a wizard?" Sonic said
"Well, it all started like this..." Tarlex began.
About ten minutes later, Tarlex finished his story.
"Robotnik was going to eat Sally?" Antoine asked
"Sally has an implant in hey throat, rigged to a bomb?" asked Sonic
"Maybe Dr Quack can get it out!"
"How did Travis blank the combot's memory core so fast?" Asked rotor
"This Travis guy sounds like a nice person" said Bunnie
"We have to rescue Travis!" said Tails
"I'll explain it all later, right now, we need to help Travis!
Amy Rose walked up to Tarlex "Can I see some magic?"
"Sure! <> In Sust Confec Soll!"
In Tarlex's hand appeared a large fluff of cotton candy, Tarlex handed
it to Amy
"Here little girl!"
"Your nice! even though you have the body of a combot..." Amy said
"Sally, oh Sally, What did that monster Robotnik do to you?" Sonic asked
"S...Son..." Sally muttered, with a frightened look on her face
"Her mind is damaged, Sonic" said Tarlex "A psychiatric evaluation must
be done on her, to find out a way to heal her."
"I'l KILL Robotnik!!" said Sonic "I'll kill him DEAD!

Cellblock A-5
<> Travis thought.
A swatbot walked in with what appeared to be a bucket of pig slop, and
placed it outside Travis's cell
"By order of Robotnik, release the prisioner from cell three two nine"
Travis said in his most Robotnikish voice
But it didn't work.

In the dungeon where I lie;
Hope I get out soon.
Robotnik entered the hall, and walked up to the cell where Travis was
"You should not have defied me! Now you will pay!" said Robotnik in a
stern voice
"An Nek Thu Vol!!!!" This was a spell out of Travis' favorite roleplay
book, Cellars and Lizards, It was his way of telling someone to 'shut up',
without them understanding what he was saying.
The next thing Travis knew, Robotnik's lips were moving, and he looked
pretty ticked off too, but there was no sound. "HAHAHAHA! You can't
talk!"
Pretending to incorectly read Robotnik's lips "Your what? Going to sit
on me? And you want my slop, and your a fat little piggy?... No! don't
sit on me, Please! " Travis was having a hard time keeping a straight face
"And you swallowed the drum in band? And ate the whole twelve foot sub by
yourself?" Tears of laughter ran down Travis' face.
"....." Robotnik's face was red, and he was trying to order his
combots, but could make no sound.
"Now you know how Sally felt!, almost!" Travis said, trying to remember
a spell from his book... "An Myght!"
Robotnik droped to the floor, drained of almost all strength
"How do you like being feeble and mute?! Not fun, is it?!"

chanted Travis
"This is what you did to Sally, Now it's on YOU!" said travis.
Robotnik had a moronic look on his face.
An hour passed, then another..
Eventualy Travis' three spells wore off. Robotnik rose to his feet
"You'll pay for that, spellcaster!, And your snide remarks!"

Robotnik left the cellblock, "And I'll take your magic powers, too!"
Uncle Chuck entered the cell block
"What are you here to do? Inform me of my punishments? Travis said
"No, I'm here to help you." said uncle Chuck "You got Princess Sally
out of here in less than a week, we have been trying for an entire fourteen
months! Would you like to join the freedom fighters? We could use someone
with your tallents, especialy now, Robotnik has been learning dark magic,
and has sacrificed several lower ranked freedom fighters in return for more
evil power! If he get's you, all will be lost..."
"Why would him getting me cause so much damage?"
"You're a Star Knight, you would be the ultimate offering." Said uncle
Chuck
"Lucky me." Travis said sarcasticaly "Things just keep gettin' better
and better!"
"I'll try to help you escape, I have connections." said Uncle Chuck
"Why didn't the roboticizer work on your mind?"
"I was able to fight it off with a power ring." Said uncle Chuck
"And why wasn't I affected?" Travis said
"You're a Star Knight" said uncle Chuck
"So I'm safe, right?" said Travis
"Untill Robotnik figures out what you are." said uncle chuck
"Then what?" asked Travis
"Then you get sacrificed." said uncle Chuck
"Oh yhea, the sacrifice thing!" said Travis "Sacrificed is not a good
thing... I wish Tarlex were here!"
"Tarlex is at Knothole viliage, with Sally" said uncle Chuck
"Sally made it home?!" said Travis "At least one thing went right
today"
"Another thing will go right, if you put this on" said uncle Chuck
"Put what on?" Travis asked
The swatbot at the door fell into piecees.
"This!" Uncle Chuck said as he opened the cell
Travis put the swatbot shell on, perfect fit
"And I just walk out?" said Travis
"Exactly." said uncle Chuck
"Thank you, I owe you my life" said Travis
"Actualy, we are in greater debt to you." said uncle chuck You rescued
our leader... Without her charismatic leadership, the freedom fighters would
be forever destroyed." "I'll take you to Knothole, there are others that
need healing, If that's not asking too much."
"I'll help you, that's why I got these powers, I guess" said Travis
Uncle Chuck and Travis met up in the hangar, and they boarded an escape
vehical, uncle Chuck ripped out the tracking system. "there!" "let's go!"
The vehical went out the hole in the hangar door, just barely hitting
the edges
"We made it!"Travis cheered
"Not yet, eight stealthbots" said uncle chuck
"Let me take ove controls!" said Travis
"What?" Said uncle chuck
"Do it!" snapped Travis
Uncle chuck turned the controlls over to Travis
The next thing uncle chuck saw amazed him, Travis took out seven of the
stealthbots. After sending the missile at the last stealthbot, Travis's
ship was hit. The last stealthbot was blown out of the sky.
"What now?" asked Travis
""We get as far as we can, before fuel runs out" said uncle chuck
"I thought we had a full tank!" said Travis
"We did, untill we got hit" said uncle chuck
"Uncle chuck took the controlls"
The ship went on, and crashlanded
"I guess we walk from here." said Travis "what direction do we go?
"South, it's abot a half a mile."
4:57pm
Knothole viliage
"This doesn't look good" said Dr Quack, as he turned off the neural
analizer "Her mind has been shattered"
"Like a plate busted into a million pieces" Sonic said in dissapointment
"Not that many, only three pieces" Dr Quack said
"Three?" Sonic said
"The Id, eago, and superego." said Dr Quack
"Can it be repaired?" Sonic asked
"Someone would have to enter her mind." said Dr Quack
"How do we do that?" said Sonic
"We could use a set of neural analizers., but..." said Dr Quack
"But what?" said Sonic
"It's dangerous." Dr Quack said
"How?" said Sonic
"In the Id section." Dr Quack said
"What about the Id secion?" said Sonic
"If a person entering had ever upset her, ever in her entire life, they
would be attacked by the forces there." Said Dr Quack
"I'll go then." said Sonic "I'm one of her favorite people!"
"Remember that time you forgot to get that note from the dropoff site,
Sallygirl was pretty ticked off!" Said Bunnie.
"But I got it on the second trip, and she wasn't mad any more" Said
Sonic
"It doesn't matter, you upset her"
"I could go!" said Tails
"Nope!" said Sonic "You busted that vase of hers, remember?"
"But she said that was okay." said Tails
"Still counts, she was still a bit upset" said Sonic
"Maybe I could!" said Bunnie
"Ummm Bunnie, you remember when you forgot to come to Aunt Sally's
party" Tails said
"Ah' didn't forget, I had to get mah arm fixed. I explained that to
her, and she was fine about."
"But she was still upset before you told her." said Tails.
"What about me?" said dulcy
"Nope!" said Sonic, "Remember the floating island incident where we
were having trouble finding it"
"But we found it, I guess that doesn't matter either"
"Maybe I could..." antoine said, everyone looked to him, frowning "I
guess not"
"What about uncle Chuck, when he gets back?" Said Tails
"Won't work, you have been roboticized, the neural amplifier won't work
for you" said Dr Quack
"What about you, Dr Quack?"
"I have to be here with the equipment... I also gave her a booster shot
when she was five years old"
"What about the new nurse from the city east of here, Sally doesn't know
her" Asked Tails.
"That's the problem, she doesn't knowthe nurse." said Dr Quack
"How long do we have to find a volunteer to help her?" Tails asked
"I don't know." said Dr Quack
Tails walked out, crying.
At that time, uncle Chuck showed up with Travis. Tails walked up to
Travis with tears in his eyes "Hi Travis..."
"Long time no see! How's Sally?" asked Travis
"She's in a coma" said Tails, tears rolling down his face"
"Oh my!" said Travis
"The doctor said we needed someone who Sally trusted, but never made her
upset. But we'll never find someone like that..."
Tarlex walked up "maybe we just have..."
"Who me? I don't know her that well! said Travis
"But she trusts you! said Tarlex
Looking to Tails, Travis said "How can I help"
"C'mon" Tails said, taking Travis by the hand "Follow me!"
Tails took Travis to the hospital "This is the hospital"
"Aufily small" Travis said
"It's mostely underground" Tails said
Tails escourted Travis down several floors, to an office
"Doctor Quack!?! You here?" Tails said
From the back room, Quack called out "How can I help you, Tails?
"I found someone who can help Aunt Sally!
Walking out of the back room, cleaning his glasses Quack said "And who
might that be?"
"Travis!" Tails said
"Well, hello, Tavis" Quack said, putting on his glassas "WHAT IS THIS
OVERLANDER DOING HERE! THIS IS A SANCTUARY FROM THEIR EVIL... GET HIM
OUT OF HERE!!!" Yelled Quack
"But Travis is my friend!" Tails whined
"Overlanders are nobody's friends!"
"And I thought bigotry on my world was bad!" said Travis
"I know when I'm not wanted!" Travis said, walking out the door "The
only person suffering here is Sally... And if she dies, her blood is on
your hands. The kind that doesn't wash off!
"Come back Travis, he didn't mean it!" Tails cried
"The Heck I did't!" said Quack "Good riddance to bad rubbish! And don't
come back!"
"I don't believe it!" said Tails "That was the rudest thing I've ever
seen!"
"He's an overlander! " Quack snapped "He deserved it!"
"He's not just an overlander!" Tails growled "He's the guy who saved
Sally from Robotnik!"
Quack's jaw dropped "That overlander was the one who saved Sally?!"
"Yes!" tails said "And you just chased him away!"
"How was I supposed to know, they all look alike!" said Quack
Above, Travis was making his way out of Knothole, Tails flew up from
behind
"Travis! come back!" Tails said
"Why? They all hate me!" Travis said "I'm going back to my world...
My people!"
"What about Sally?" said Tails
"You'll find someone, I'm sure of it." Travis said
"It'll take awhile, but they'll get used to you." said Tails
"One week! That's it!" said Travis
"You mean you'll come back? said Tails
"Yes, I will." said Travis.
Next, Travis is in Knothole, Quack is skeptical of Travis. Sally is in a
coma, her mind shattered and only Travis can bring her out of it.
