Detrao and Detrax were in Travis' workshop, brushing up on their
electronics skills. Detrao had stumbled upon Travis's journal describing
his theories on the portal ring. Utilizing the information Detrao found,
the two had assembled a graviton emmitter, identical to the one Travis used
to open the portal ring. After exhaustive study (and persistant snooping)
The two had pinpointed the percise location of the portal ring...
"We'll need supplies, I'll bring the steam dynamo, incase there's no
usable electrical energy aviable on the other side," said Detrao "And you
bring the progressed cellars and Lizards book collection."
"What?!?" asked Detrax "Why do we need them?"
"Well, Travis might want to play." said Detrao
"Good enough reason for me!" said Detrax
"Remember the character pages!" said Detrao
Travis' House
8:22am
Detrax and Detrao had gathered all the "necessities" they required, and
were heading out the door. Mr Jones, the next door neighbor, was tending to
his garden. "Hey! Where are you two off to?" asked Mr Jones.
"We're off to the porta-"said Detrao, just as Detrax elbowed him in the
side.
"We're going camping." said Detrax "Could you pick up our newspapers and
our mail for awhile?"
"Where's Travis been for the past few weeks?" asked Mr Jones
"Survival courses" said Detrax.
"Well, If you see him, tell him I said hi" said Mr Jones.
"We will" said Detrao
Portal Ring site
10:32am
"This is the place, eight stones in a circle" said Detrax
"Nope, it's nine here" said Detrao, pointing at a small stone.
"You clutz, Eight BIG stones!" said Detrax
"Ok." said Detrao. Detrax hit the button on the emmitter. The portal
ring appeared.
"I guess we go through." said Detrao
"That's the smartest thing you've said all day!" said Detrax
"Thanks!" said Detrao. Detrao and Detrax went into the ring, and arived
on Mobius. Detrax looked at the ground and said "Look! It's a campfire
ring!"
"What's so great about that?" asked Detrao "If you've seen one, you've
seen 'em all"
"That's not what I meant, dummie!" said Detrax "It's Travis' campsite!"
"How do you know?" asked Detrao
"This!" said Detrax, picking up an empty can of Jookie.
"This can't be Travis' campsite." said Detrao "Travis don't pollute!"
"Looks like there was a fight here." said Detrax
"Oh no! the sasquatch got 'em!" cried Detrao "We'd better go back!"
"It's not a sasquatch, Detrao," said Dertax "The footprints are from
boots."
"These foot prints are fresh, and this reed was snapped, oh, I'd say
about a couple of minutes ago." said Detrao
"You're right, for once." said Detrax
"Thank you." said Detrao "Wait, that was an insult! Take it back!"
"No!" yelled Detrax "It's true!" Detrao hauled off and hit Detrax.
Detrax knocked Detrao down. Detrao got up, and jumped on Detrax.
"Take it back!" yelled Detrao
"NEVER!!!" yelled Detrax "You're stupid, you're never right!" Detrao
and Detrax were rolling on the ground fighting, when a combot commander
walked up to them, and opened a comunications link to Robotnik.
"We've located two overlanders at Torric's camp site, awaiting orders."
(Combot commanders speak fluent english)
"Bring them to me!" said Robotnik.
"Come with me." said the combot
[[We better do what he says, these robots are huge.]] said Detrax to
Detrao, using his communications system (Detrao and Detrax can communicate
by radio signals). The combot ushered Detrao and Detrax into the transport
ship.
Robotropolis, control room
1:45pm
The combot commander brought Detrao and Detrax to Robotnik
[[This guy's fatter than the guy who used to come to Travis' dinner
buffet, and clear out the whole buffet table!]] said Detrao, using the
commlink.
"Welcome, fellow overlanders." said Robotnik "I am Doctor Robotnik. What
are your names, might I ask"
"Detrao." said Detrao
"I'm called Detrax" said Detrax
"I have a few questions for you." said Robotnik
"Yes." said Detrax "What are they?"
"Have you heard of a man named Travis Torric?" asked Robotnik
"[[Let me handle this, Detrao]] said Detrax, using comlink [[This guy
might be an enemy of Travis]]
"Travis who?" asked Detrax. Robotnik brought up a picture of Travis
Torric on the main monitor
"This is Travis Torric, he's a dangerous enemy" said Robotnik
[[That IS Travis!]] said Detrao
[[I know!]] said Detrax
"No, we haven't see that man" said Detrax
"If we see him, we'll destroy him." said Detrao
[[WHAT!?!]] asked Detrao
[[Play along with me, this guy's dangerous!]] said Detrao
[[Gotch'a!"]] said Detrao
"How would you two like to serve me?" asked Robotnik
"Sure." said Detrax "What do you want us to do?"
"I need a couple guards, my old guard was assaulted by an evil hedgehog
named Sonic. He's recovering." said Robotnik
"What do we guard?" asked Detrax
"I need you to guard a 'livestock' containment facility." said Robotnik
"Why? Do you need to make sure they aren't stolen?" said Detrao
"Why cant you use your big robots to do it?" asked Detrax
"I find them to be... easily overtaken" answered Robotnik "Do you like
small, cute, furry animals?"
"No! We hate them! They make good targets for gun fodder!" said Detrao
[[What on Earth are you doing?!?]] asked Detrax [[You'll get us BOTH
killed!!!"]]
"Good!" said Robotnik "I won't have to worry about you taking pitty on
the animals in the cells"
[[We lucked out on that one!]] said Detrax
"What else would you like us to do?" asked Detrax
"That's it." said Robotnik.
"What do we do when we get bored?" asked Detrao
"If you ever get bored, or frustrated, feel free to take it out on the
animals in the holding cells." answered Robotnik
"Cool!" said Detrao
[[YOU ARE SICK!]] said Detrax
[[Just playing allong]] said Detrao
[[Yhea right! Remember my chinchilla?!?]] said Detrax
[[Not this conversation again!]] said Detrao [[It was an accident!]]
[[Accident my foot!]] said Detrax [[You were talking about a fur coat
when it happened!]]
[[My ethics programming hadn't kicked in yet!]] said Detrao
[[That's a crock o' bull!!]] said Detrax [[You smashed it in purpose!]]
[[Look, I'll be willing to talk all you want about this later, but right
now, we need to locate Travis.]] said Detrao
"You got a soccerball?" asked Detrao
"Yes, I do." said Robotnik "I'll get it for you later."
"What do we do now?" asked Detrax
"Snivley!" said Robotnik "Show these two arround!" Snivley walked into
the room, and walked up to Detrao and Detrax.
"Walk this way..." said Snivley. Detrao mocked the way Snivley was
walking.
[[Stop that!]] said Detrax
Snivley showed Detrax and Detrao most of the building, and ended the
tour with cellblock A-5.
"This is the maximum security prision block, we keep our most
threatening prisioners here." said Snivley.
"Robotnik said we were to guard a livestock containment facility." said
Detrao.
"He was refering to the prisioners." said Snivley
"That's sick! he eats other humans?!?" asked Detrax
"They're not humans, they're animals." said Snivley
"Why do you need to imprision animals?" asked Detrax "Animals aren't
smart enough to break out of a cage. All you need is a simple wire cage to
hold an animal."
"You should see for yourself." said Snivley. Snivley punched in the
access code. Detrao and Detrax watched Snivley's hand closely. Snivley
lead Detrao and Detrax into cellblock A-5.
"These are the animals I was talking about" said Snivley
"Awwww cute..." said Detrax "What's Robotnik going to do with them?"
"Robotnik is in league with a demon named Talkon. Robotnik is taking
the pink one to an underworld festival, the yellow rabbit is here for
Robotnik to, well, vent his anger on."
"Wow!" said Detrao. Detrax elbowed Detrao
"Keep an eye on them, there may be a rescue part... I mean a group of
thieves coming to steal them." said Snivley. "I'll be back to let you out,
here's the cell keys, incase you get bored."
"What's the code to get out of here?" asked Detrax
"You will be told when you need to know." said Snivley. Snivley punched
in his code, and left the room.
"Stupid human..." mumbled Detrax "I know the code!"
Detrao walked up to Amy Rose's cell "Look! A ball of pink cotton candy!"
"I'm not cotton candy!" said Amy
"A TALKING ball of pink cotton candy!" said Detrao. Amy started to cry
"I'm not cotton candy!!!" said Amy "I'm a hedgehog!"
"Cotton candy!" said Detrao
"Hedgehog!" said Amy
"Cotton candy!" said Detrao
"WHAAA!!" Amy started to cry. Detrax walked up to Amy's cell
"Detrao, what on Earth are you doing?!" asked Detrax
"Earth?" asked Amy, she stoped crying "Like Travis the starknight?"
"There's no such thing as a starknight!" said Detrao "And there's no
such thing as magic either!"
"You're lying!" said Amy "Travis made my leg all better when I got stuck
by a poison spike tree!"
"Did he by any chance put his hands on your leg when he healed it?"
asked Detrax.
"Yes!" said Amy
"Was he about six feet tall, brown hair, and blue eyes?" asked Detrax
"Yes! That's him!" said Amy."You know him, don't you?!?"
"Yes we do, he built us BOTH" said Detrax, pointing at Detrao.
"Are you Detrao and Detrax?" asked Amy
"Why yes!" said Detrax "How do you know us?"
"Travis told me all about you!" said Amy. "And about when you broke his
favorite lamp!"
"He just won't let that drop!" said Detrao.
"What is your name little girl?" asked Detrax.
"I'm Amy Rose." said Amy, as she smiled. Bunnie drifted into
conciousness.
"Travis, is that you?" said Bunnie
"What happened to her?" asked Detrax
"Robotnik pulled her robotic limbs off, and melted them." said Amy
"That's sad." said Detrax
"Does the bunny want a carrot?" asked Detrao.
"Stop teasing her!" said Detrax
"How long will you be here?" asked Detrax
"They say I have four days left before they take me to be eaten at some
carnival." said Amy
"You mean a festival?" asked Detrax
"Yes." said Amy "But you're going to save me, right?
"We will." said Detrax "But we need a plan, we don't have the manpower,
or the firepower to get you out of here!"
"Travis, is that you?" asked Bunnie
"No, I'm Detrax" said Detrax
"I'm so dizzy..." said Bunnie. Detrao looked around the cellblock.
"Look at this, Detrax! Lightning Falcon! He's my favorite robot on
Gigga Guy!" said Detrao
"You play too many video games!" said Detrax
"Look!" said Detrao
"Okay, but if you're lying, I'll hit you." said Detrax "WHAT THE HECK!"
Detrax looked at Lightning "It realy IS lightning Falcon!"
Lightning looked at Detrao and Detrax, but was silent. Detrax looked at
Lightning's neck.
"There's an empty space in his neck." said Detrax "Lightning Falcon,
I'm going to ask you a few questions, blink once for no, and twice for yes."
Lightning blinked twice.
"Is that empty space in your neck related to your having no voice?"
asked Detrax. Lightning blinked twice
"Are you able to communicate via radio signal?" asked Detrax. Lightning
blinked twice
"Can you transmit at nine hundred megahertz?" asked Detrax. Lightning
blinked twice.
"Do so." said Detrax
[[Finaly! Someone I can talk to]] said Lightning [[You need to assemble
my body, or get my voice synthesizer.]]
[[How could your synthesizer help you get out?]] asked Detrax
[[I can cast spells with it.]] said Lightning
[[I couldn't help but to hear your conversation, but there's no such
thing as magic.]] said Detrao
[[Yes there is magic, it just doesn't work on your planet]] said
Lightning
[[I'll try to re-assemble you." said Detrax "Where are your parts?"
[[At the end of this cellblock]] said Lightning. Detrax walked to the
end of the cellblock. The door to the parts was locked with a combination
lock.
[[Who knows the combo?]] asked Detrax
[[Robotnik, and maybe Snivley]] answered Lightning [[If I had my voice
synthesizer, I could cast an unlocking spell on it.]]
[[Where is the synthesizer?]] asked Detrax
[[Robotnik wears it around his neck]] said Lightning
[[Okay, we'll just have to kill Robotnik.]] said Detrax
[[Don't do it.]] said Lightning
[[Why?]] asked Detrax
[[If he dies, there is a mechanism that will send an order for
Robotnik's forces to destroy this entire world.]]
[[Then how do we get the synthesizer?]] asked Detrax
[[I don't know.]] said Lightning [[You'll have to come up with a plan]]
"Um, Detrax, could you let me out of this cage?" asked Amy
"I will, but you have to go back when I tell you to, If I get busted for
letting you out, I won't be able to rescue you." said Detrax.
"Okay." said Amy.Detrax jammed the survailance cammera, then he let Amy
out of her cell. Amy ran to the far end of the cellblock.
"You said you wouldn't run off." said Detrax
"I'm not!" said Amy "I just needed to run!"
"You've got two minutes." said Detrax "Then you need to go back in."
"Why only two minutes?" asked Amy
"That's how long I've calculated for the big robots to show up, because
I jammed the cammera's transmission."
"Okay." said Amy. Two minutes passed...
"Alright Amy, back into the cell." said Detrax
"Okay." said Amy. Just then, a combot opened the door. Detrax stopped
jamming the signal. The combot looked around the cellblock, and left.
Detrax looked at the number pad by the door, and noticed a data access
jack.
"Hmmm... I think I can access the main computer from here." said
Detrax.
[[Do it!]] said Lightning. Detrax began to access the main computer
Robotropolis, Cellblock A-5
9:00pm
"Sorry." said Detrax "I couldn't find the number for the cell with
Lightning's parts. But I DID manage to upload a virus to Robotnik's
security systems. It'll knock out the allarms starting at twelve tonight."
[[Good.]] said Lightning. Amy was crying.
"What's wrong, Amy?" asked Detrax
"I'm scared." said Amy
"How about a bedtine story?" said Detrax. Amy stopped crying "Tell me
one about Earth."
"Sure!" said Detrao "Once upun a time, there was a dog named Cuojo..."
"Shut up Detrao!!!" said Detrax
"I wanna' hear about Coujo!" said Amy
"You don't want to hear about it. Trust me!" said Detrax
"Once upon a time," began Detrao "In the land of Iraq, there was a
dictator named Sad..."
"Enough!" said Detrax "I'll tell it!"
"We don't want to hear about Lilly the elephant!" said Detrao
"Tough!" said Detrax "Once upon a time, there was an elephant named
Lilly..."
Cellblock A-5
10:58pm
"... Then Lilly jumped over the pit, and ran into the jungle. The End."
"Amy?" asked Detrao "You ok?"
"Shhhhh..." Detrax whispered "She's assleep." Snivley opened the door,
and came in.
"You guys are off now, so you may go to bed." said Snivley
"Okay." said Detrax.
[[I'll be back tomorow morning, Lightning]] said Detrax. Snivley took
Detrao and Detrax to Travis' old room. "You will sleep here." Snivley said.
There were two beds. Detrax looked for a power connector "Here, I found a
power outlet!"
Detrax pulled out two extension cords, but they didn't fit. Detrax
pulled the connecter off of the cord, and stuck the bare wires into the
wall.
"Is this safe?" asked Detrao.
"Don't know, but it would take alot of juice to damage us." answered
Detrax.
Detrao and Detrax went to their beds.
Portal Room
11:01pm
Talkon was talking to Robotnik
"Robotnik, I came to tell you that you qualified for the opening time
sale."
"What's that?" asked Robotnik.
"That means you can come to the iniquity festival early." said Talkon
"Why would I want to come early?" asked Robotnik
"You get to buy while the realy cool things haven't been sold yet." said
Talkon "So grab that pink hedgehog, tell Snivley to keep watch, and meet me
here at midnight!"
Snivley's room
11:17pm
Robotnik woke Snivley up
"Snivley, I'm leaving early, so I'll need you to take over untill I get
back!" said Robotnik
"Yes sir!" said Snivley
"I have one more place to go..." said Robotnik as he left Snivley's
room.
Cellblock A-5
11:37pm
Robotnik showed up at Amy's cell with a group of combots, opened her
cell, and grabbed the sleeping hedgehog, waking her up. Lightning saw that
Robotnik wasn't wearing Lightning's voice synthesizer, and Robotnik was
wearing a black robe.
"Let me go!!!" Amy screamed. Bunnie drifted into conciousness
"L...Leave Amy alone..." said Bunnie
"Fat chance, rat!"
Portal Room
12:00Midnight 8-15-99 (Earth Date)
"How do I know I'll be able to get back here when the Iniquity Festival
is over?" asked Robotnik
"Look at it this way, you can cause more evil from your world than mine,
is that enough proof?" asked Talkon
"Allright." said Robotnik "So how do I get in?"
"Just step through the portal." said Talkon. Robotnik stepped through
the portal.
The realm of darkness
12:32am
Robotnik was walking around the fairgrounds, when he saw someone he
thought he'd never see again
"Mother?" asked Robotnik
"Ah! My idiot son! So, Sonic finaly did you in!" said Robotnik's
mother.
"I'm not dead yet, I'm here for the Iniquity Festival." said Robotnik
"Maybe I was wrong about you" said Robotnik's mother "Only the most evil
mortals are invited to the Iniquity festival."
"I'm going to become a vicelord." said Robotnik
"You? a vicelord?!? Ha!" said Robotnik's mother. Talkon walked up to
Robotnik, and addressed Robotnik's mother.
"He does have potential, Ma'am." said Talkon
"Let's see your invitation!" said Robotnik's mother. Robotnik showed
her his invitation.
"This is impossible, he got four thousand credits!" said Robotnik's
Mother, handing Robotnik his back his invitation slip. "You've done well."
Talkon lead Robotnik to the front gate. Robotnik showed the gatekeeper
his invitation slip.
"Four thousand credits?" said the gatekeeper "That's alot for a mortal!"
The gatekeeper handed Robotnik a small chest of coins. Robotnik took off
his backpack, and pulled Amy out of it
"This place is scary!" said Amy, as she began to cry
"I'll give you seven hundred fifty credit coins for the hedgehog!" said
the gatekeeper
"I'd take his offer, if I were you!" said Talkon
"I'll take it!" said Robotnik, as he handed over the bound hedgehog.
The gatekeeper threw Amy into a cage with animals, averything from pigs
(Earth pigs) to chickens (Earth shickens), but Amy was the only
anthropomorhp in the cage. Amy was crying.
"Shut up!" said the gatekeeper, the gatekeeper touched an electric
cattle prod to the metal cage.
Robotnik came up to a stand. Robotnik's mother spoke to the carnie
"Hello, Gweedoe, how are you doing?"
"I'm doing well... Don't touck that, fat boy!" said Gweedoe
"Don't talk to my son that way!" said Mamma' Robotnik
"My apologies!" said Gweedoe "What would you like?"
"What kind of wands are theese?" asked Robotnik
"Well, the red ones cause hate, the yellow ones cause fear, the black
ones cause blindness, the green ones are greed, the blue ones cause sadness,
the brown ones cause disease, and the pink ones incuce false love." said
Gweedoe
"What's the flashing one do?" askeed Robotnik
"It can cause the same affects as all the other wands" said Gweedoe
"How many credits?" asked Robotnik
"Eh... for you, two thousand credits." said Gweedoe
"GWEEDOE!!" snarled Mamma' Robotnik
"I'm sorry, five hundred credits. Mamma' Robotnik scoweled
"Five credits." said Gweedoe
"That's better." said Talkon
"How many charges does it have?" asked Robotnik
"Pardon me?" said Gweedoe
"Um, Robotnik, these wands have unlimited charges" said Talkon
"You can use each effect once per day, if that's what you wanted to
know. it renews at midnight." said
Gweedoe "Sorry about the ripoff, I'm used to shortchanging mortals. Watch
out for the carnies, They'll try to rip you off."
"I'll take two flashing wands!" said Robotnik
"I only had one this year" said Gweedoe, handing Robotnik his wand.
Robotnik handed Gweedoe a five credit coin.
"Here..." said Gweedoe, handing Robotnik a piece of paper.
"It's the words for the wand. And don't forget, all effects are dispelled
by sunlight!" Robotnik put the wand into his backpack. Robotnik went on
looking around the fairgrounds.
Gatekeeper's cage
1:00am
<> Amy thought to herself <>
Amy's eyes teared up. Amy went to sleep.
Robotropolis, Detrao&Detrax's room
4:59am
"Let's get that voice synthesizer from Robotnik, get it to Lightning
Falcon, and get us all out of this armpit!" said Detrax
"Agreed!" said Detrao. Detrao and Detrax packed up their belongings,
and went to Robotnik's bedroom.
Robotropolis, Robotnik's room
5:00am
"I don't understand it." said Detrao "There's the voice synthesizer, but
no lardbutt"
"Just grab it, and get to cellblock a five" said Detrax. Detrao took
the box from Robotnik's bedstand, and the two ran out the door. Snivley
came out of his room, and spoke to Detrax.
"What are you two doing up so early?"
"We don't sleep much." said Detrax
"I've noticed something about you two." said Snivley "You two never say
'I' you always say 'we'."
"Uhmm... we... er..." said Detrax
"And I've also noticed a resonating quality to your voices." said
Snivley "And your voices are identical. If I didn't know better, I'd say
you were both robots!"
"Well..." said Detrao
"Shut up, Detrao!" said Detrax
"And what are you doing with Robotnik's necklace?" said Snivley
"He knows too much!" said Dertax
"Let's stuff 'em in the closet!" said Detrao. Snivley hit the allarm
button, but nothing happened. Detrao and Detrax grinned, grabbed Snivley,
and shoved him into the closet.
"This should hold 'em!" said Detrao, holding up a tube of superglue he
got from his arm compartment.
Detrao squirted the glue into the lock mechanism, and slammed the door.
"Let me out!!!" yelled Snivley
Cellblock A-5
5:30am
Detrao and Detrax let themselves into the cellblock, and ran up to
Lightning's cell.
"We forgot the keys!" said Detrax
"These keys?" asked Detrao, holding up Snivley's keys.
"How did you get those?" asked Detrax
"I picked his pocket." said Detrao
"I told you that was a bad habit, but it came in handy this time." said
Detrax.
Detrao opened Lightning's cell, and installed the voice synthesizer
"ZZZZT WHRRRRT..." said Lightning
"You idiot Detrao, you broke it!" yelled Detrax
"It's not my fault!" said Detrao
"Would you two stop arguing?!?" said Lightning "I was just recalibrating
the voice synthesizer!"
"WOW!" said Detrao "He works!"
"We need to work fast!" said Lightning "Now push my body up to the
locked cell at the end of the cellblock! HURRY!"
Detrao and Detrax pushed Lightning up to the combination lock.
"An Blok!" said Lightning. The door swung open.
"Awesome!" said Detrao "These parts are huge!"
"Let's get this stuff hooked up to Lightning Falcon" said Detrax
An hour passed as Detrax and Detrao worked diligently, then Lightning
rose to his feet.
"I thank you for repairing me." said Lightning "You can call me Tarlex,
if you like."
"Let's get Amy and that halfa' rabbit outa' here!" said Detrao
"Huston, we've got a problem..." said Detrax
"What is it?" asked Detrao.
"Amy's gone!" said Detrax "Larda... I mean Robotnik, must've taken her
to that iniquity thing early!"
"We must act quickly, each moment we waste, Amy could be in more trouble
at that accursed festival!" said Lightning "We'll need to swipe a ship,
because you two, and Bunnie are too much for me to carry." The group left
the cellblock, and went to the airship hangar. Two combots stopped
The group
"I thought you'd try to escape... Eat plasma!" said the combot commander
in a harsh tone, raising his plasma rifle. Lightning raised his fusion
cannon before the combot could pull the trigger, and blasted the combot.
The other combot ran away.
"Coward!" said Detrao.
"He's probably going to get his friends, we need to hurry!" said Detrax.
Detrao, Detrax and Lightning(Who was carrying Bunnie) boarded a mid
distance transport ship, and flew away. Lightning ripped out the tracking
system, and pitched it out the window.
Knothole Vilage
8:45am
Lightning's ship landed inn the meadow, outside Knothole. Detrao,

"Look, It's lightning!" said Rotor "And he's brought Bunnie!"
"Where's Amy?" asked Sally. Lightning walked up to Sally
"Amy was taken to an underworld festival by Robotnik." said Lightning
"And Bunnie needs to see a doctor" said Lightning "Imediately!"
"We need you to take a look at Travis!" said Sonic

"There's not much I can do for her." said Doctor Quack
"Maybe Travis can help her." said Antoine
"If Bunnie lasts long enough." said Doctor Quack

"He's been complianing about headaches since yesterday afternoon" said
Doctor Quack "From a sensory overload of unknown origin."
"Let me try a spell..." said Lightning "An Sceff!" Travis sat up
"Man! I thought that headache would never go away!"
"We have two problems that require your skills." said Lightning
"First, the young hedgehog named Amy Rose was taken to an underworld
get-togethr called the Iniquity Festival."
"Second, Bunnie Rabbot's robotic limbs, and right ear were ripped from
her body by Doctor Robotnik, and she's in shock."
"So you need me to heal Bunnie" said Travis "Then climb Sam Hill to save
Amy Rose"
"Basicaly... Yes." said Lightning
"Okay, where's Bunnie now?" asked Travis
Knothole Infirmery, Bunnie's room
9:31am
Travis looked over Bunnie's body, and noticed sparks coming from her
hip.
"This is the problem," said Travis "This power cable is touching her
sensory cable, it's sending electrical current straight to her brain!"
Travis separated the two wires, and Bunnie's eyes opened.
"Travis, is that you?" asked Bunnie
"Yes, it is." said Travis
"Robotnik has Amy Rose." said Bunnie, straining to sit up
"Save your energy, kid." said Travis "You're missing both of your legs."
"We could build new ones for you." said Rotor.
"But I'd be stuck with them forever, even if they came up with a
de-roboticizer." Bunnie began to sulk.
"If I had my magic book, I could cast regenerate." said Travis
"If you tried to cast that spell at your current level of magic use, it
would kill you" said Lightning
"Why don't you cast it?" asked Travis
"I'm a wizard, not a healer or a starknight." said Lightning
"How many more levels do I need to cast it?" asked Travis
"At least two." said Lightning
"Would someone be a gentleman, and get me another haltertop, and a bra
from mah' hut, please?" asked Bunnie
"I could get zem!" said Antoine
"They should be in a basket next to mah' dresser."
"I'll be right, Bunnie." said Antoine
"Thanks, Tonie." said Bunnie "And stay out of the top drawer!"
"What ees up zair?" asked Antoine
"None a' yer business." said Bunnie "Just stay outa' mah' top dresser
drawer!" Antoine left the room, heading for Bunnie's hut
"Ah' hope he stays out of my dresser..." said Bunnie
"What's in there?" asked Travis
"Personal stuff." said Bunnie "Ah'd rather not talk about it."
"I think I've got the idea, I've allways told Detrax and Detrao to keep
out of my top dresser drawer." said Travis "I'll bet they're delving through
it as we speak!"
"BZZZT! WRONG!" said Detrax as he entered The room "We have respected
your request to 'stay the h*** out of my top dresser drawer', haven't we,
Detrao?"
"Yep, except that time I found that magazine with Mindy Slawford in the
middle" said Detrao.
"You MORON!" said Detrax "Now everyone knows that Travis keeps dirty
magazines in his dresser!"
"If they didn't know then, they do now!" said Detrao
"How did you two get here?" asked Travis
"We studied your notes on the portal." said Detrax "I hope you're not
mad at us."
"And we brought your Cellars and lizar..." said Detrao
"This is a serious situation, we don't have time for games!" said Detrax
"Bring me the 'compendium of magic' book, please." said Travis. Detrao
pulled out all of the books from his backpack.
"Now where did this come from?" asked Detrao, pointing at a leather
bound, brass cornered book, about the size of a large city phonebook. Travis
picked up the book. It was the compendium of magic, but not the book he
remembered. The book he remembered had a picture of a wizard on it's cover.
Lightning examined the book carefully, and said "This is a magic book,
I'm certain of it!" said Lightning
"Newsflash!" said Detrax "There's no such thing as magic!"
"Then what's this?!?" said Travis "In Sust Sol!" A plate of broccoli
appeared infront of Travis.
"Okay, let's see you do a gormet hog roast!" said Detrao
"I don't eat red meat anymore." said Travis
"Why? You always loved hamburgers, chicken, and occasionaly turkey."
said Detrax
"Not anymore." said Travis
"This is one of the tomes of Torn." said Lightning
"Who's Torn?" asked Travis.
"Torn was the head member of the mages guild, long before I joined."
"Then how praytell did it get into my world, and into my cellars and
lizards book collection?"
"The book had a spell cast on it, it sought you out." said Lightning
"You should try to learn as many spells as you possibly can."
"We need to make saving Amy our top priority." said Sally
"First of all, those demons would make short work of me. Second, if I
did manage to get to Amy, how would I get her out?" asked Travis
"Ah' could make ya' look like one of them, with some makeup." said
Bunnie.
"And I can make a portable hole, if you let me use the book." said
Lightning.
"Why do I need a portable hole?" asked Travis
"To put Amy in." said Lightning
"And what if I'm discovered?" asked Travis
"There is a legend of a sword named Shadowslayer." said Lightning "How
good are you with a sword?"
"Good, " said Travis
"The meir sight of Shadowslayer will cause lesser demons to flee in
panic." said Lightning
"What about the greater demons?" asked Travis
"They'll back away." said Lightning "The only thing you have to wory
about is the Arch Demon Munkia."
"Munkia?" asked Travis "Who's he?"
"Munkia is Tenth in command in the underworld" said Lightning "You don't
have to do this, you know. Chances are very slim, even with Shadowslayer."
"Yes, I DO have to do this," said Travis "I'd never forgive myself if I
left her there, without a fight."
"Travis, follow me." said Lightning
"Are you in need of any of my services?" asked Travis
"No, Bunnie is in stable condition." said Doctor Quack. Travis followed
Lightning to the meeting hall. Lightning made a small circle in the dirt,
and drew a rune in the center. The circle, and the rune began to glow blue.
"Travis, This circle will take you to the hall of the castle of my mages
guild" said Lightning
"What will they say when they see that I'm human?" asked Travis
"They are more open minded than most of this world." said Lightning
"They will understand, they've dealt with others of your race, in a friendly
manner."
"Anything else I need to know, before I leave?" asked Travis
"Yes, when you get there, you will be tested." said Talkon
"How will I be tested?" asked Travis
"I cannot tell you that." said Lightning
"But if I don't pass, Amy is doomed!" said Travis
"I have faith in you. You will pass." said Lightning
"But..." said Travis
"Not another word." said Lightning "You must learn to do things on your
own."
"I'll make sure the circle is not broken." said Lightning
"But..." muttered Travis as Lightning shoved him into the circle.
Hall of the mages guild

Travis found himself outside of a large castle, with blue turrets.
The huge door opened. Travis entered the castle.
Three white-cloaked hooded figures aproached Travis. The figure closest
to Travis lifted his hood. It was a fox anthropomorph
"You are the overlander known as Travis Torric, of Earth, am I correct?"
asked the mage.
"Yes, I am." said Travis I'm here to..."
"Silence!" the mage interupted "You will have a chance to speak. You
are a starknight here seeking the legendary holysword Shadowslayer, Am I
correct?"
"Yes, that is correct." said Travis
"And you wish to save the child known as Amy Rose, Am I correct?"
"Yes! Yes!" said Travis impatiently
"I am sorry, but if the sword were to fall into the wrong hands, it
could be disasterous." said the mage "You may speak."
"That child is in need of assistance!" said Travis
"Your point being?" asked the mage. The other hooded figures left the
room.
"How can you let this happen?" asked Travis "You guys are sick!"
"If the sword were lost, many would die." said the mage "There is
nothing you, or anyone could say that would change my mind. You may leave
the same way you entered." Travis walked out the door. Just then, Travis
heard an explosion from the room he left. Travis turned to the door behind
him, entered the room, and saw fifteen fully-armed ComBots
<> Travis thought to himself <>
"IN PYRO!" Travis Intoned. Four of the Combots burst into flames. The
other eleven combots continued to attack the mage
"This'll use up the rest of my mana, but... AN STOTEK!" Travis Intoned.
The spell drained all energy from ten of the ComBots. The last Combot kept
attacking the mage. Travis saw a sword that wasn't there before. Travis
took the sword, and swung at the ComBot. <>
Travis thought to himself. Travis took a second look, the Combot was sliced
in half.
"You have done well, starknight." said the mage "You have passed the
test."
"Test?" asked Travis
"Yes!" said the mage "The test was to see if you would save a person who
refused to assist you in a wholehearted quest."
"What about the ComBots, there will be more." said Travis "They almost
killed you!" said Travis
"I was in no danger." said the mage "The ComBots were only illusions."
"So that's why I didn't feel resistance when I swung this sword at the
ComBot." said Travis
"No, the ComBots were solid. The sword is why you didn't feel the
contact when it hit." said the mage
"But this is just an ordinary... Sword?" said Travis, as the sword began
to glow. "This must be shadowslayer"
"Yes, that is Shadowslayer. Apparently he has decided to assist you in
your mission." said the mage
"He?" asked Travis "The sword has gender?"
"Yes." said the mage "Shadowslayer, you may show yourself." The sword
jumped from Travis' hand. In a flash, the sword became a white wolf.
"It's a wolf! One of my world!" said Travis "How?"
"The one known as Talkon stole Shadowslayer from your world." said the
mage.
"Talkon..." said Travis
"He was born on your world." said the mage
"Do you know how our worlds are connected, and how they are separate?"
asked Travis
"Yes." said the mage "They are the same world" said the mage
"So I found a time portal?" asked Travis0
"No, same time, but different timelines." said the mage
"When did the two timelines split?" asked Travis "And why?"
"The timelines split before the jurasic period, due to the first chaos
emeralds that bombarded the world."
"Which timeline would have happened without these chaos emerald things?"
asked Travis.
"Yours." said the mage
"How did the chaos emeralds effect your timeline?" asked Travis.
"They caused some of the traits in the living species to warp, causing
the overlanders to become more violent." said the mage "And it caused the
other doveloping species to become more inteligent."
"So the huma... overlanders weren't as smart, so they were overtaken?"
asked Travis
"No, the overlanders were smarter, in the begining, but now are equil.
The reason the overlanders were defeated, is because there weren't as many
of them as us." said the mage "I hope this doesn't lessen your desire to
assist us."
"No." said Travis "One world is enough for my race."
"I am happy to hear that." said the mage "So you will help us defeat the
overlanders?"
"I didn't say that." said Travis "That would be genoside. I'll help you
take out Robotnik, but that's it. On my world, there are both good humans,
and bad. Most are good, though. No species is inately evil."
"Yet on your world you destroy countless species, daily." said the mage
"And there are those who fight to stop them." said Travis
"So which side are you on?" asked the mage
"I believe the destruction my race does is wrong." said Travis
"Yet you take no action against it." said the mage
"I've contributed money to several of the rescue programs" said Travis
"And I do so on a regular basis"
"Ah yes! Monetary funds. I forgot that your world's monetary system is
still intact." said the mage
"So what am I to do?" asked Travis
"I can tell you no more. Return later if you wish to know more, for
now, you must stop Robotnik from opening the portal to the great Abyss."
said the mage.
"Why can't you do it?" asked Travis
"We can't leave the castle." said The mage "We made a pact with our
deities. We protect the orical stone. In return, we get to live forever."
"What about Lightning?" asked Travis
"I beg your pardon?" asked the mage
"I mean Tarlex." said Travis
"May his poor soul rest in peace." aid the mage
"He is occupying the body of a robot." said Travis "He has been that way
for a few weeks."
"Interresting." said the mage "His will to live must be very strong.
"Why do you say that?" asked Travis
"For a spirit to posess a robotic body, the spirit must have a great
desire to live again." said the mage "When you see him again, tell him that
Toban wishes him well."
"I guess I'll be leaving." said Travis
"Take this amulet to Tarlex." said Toban. "Shadowslayer, go with him."
Shadowslayer took his sword form. Toban held an ornate scabbard to
Travis.
"This is Shadowslayer's favorite scabbard." said Toban "Take it with you
on your journey." Toban handed Travis the scabbard. Travis noticed that the
scabbard had white velvet on the inside Travis placed Shadowslayer into his
scabbard.
"I thank you on Amy's behalf." said Travis, as he left. Travis stepped
into the circle, and vanished

Detrao was arguing with Sally
"I am not a hamster!" yelled Sally "I am a squirrel!"
"Hamster!" yelled Detrao
"squirrel!" yelled Sally
"Hey Detrax!" said Detrao "Doesn't she look more like a hamster than a
squirrel?"
"Sure." said Detrax, who was busy playing with his portable game system,
and wasn't paying atention to Detrao's and Sally's argument.
"Two against one, you're a hamster!" said Detrao
"I AM NOT A HAMSTER!!!" screamed Sally at the top of her lungs.
"Than why's your tail so short?" asked Detrao
"All mobian sqirls are like that!" snapped Sally
"Are those two robots bothering you, princess?" asked Geoffery, who
noticed the argument.
"P-P-Princess?" muttered Detrao "My deepest apologies, m'lady."
Travis appeared in the circle, and the circle quit glowing.
"You were successful in your quest, I see." said Lightning
"Toban said to say he wishes you well, and to give you this." said
Travis, handing Lightning the amulet. "Do you know what it is?"
"Yes, it's an Amulet of reversed light." said Lightning
"It hides allignment," asked Travis "That way, I'll fit in, when I go to
the underworld, right?"
"How did you know that?" asked Lightning
"One of my books told me about it." said Travis.
"I'll have to get a peek at your book collection, sometime." said
Lightning.
Knothole Infirmery, Bunnie's room

"All done!" said Bunnie
"How do I look?" asked Travis. Sally handed Travis a mirror. Travis
looked into the mirror.
"I look... Evil!" said Travis. Tails walked into the room
"Hi Aunt Sally, where's Travis, It's past lunchtime. Who's the guy in
the black cloak?" asked Tails. Travis turned arround. Tails ran out the
door screaming at the top of his lungs.
"I guess the makeup job is good enough." said Travis. Lightning handed
the amulet to Travis.
"Don't put this on untill you are in the underworld." said Lighting
"Why?" asked Travis
"The aura you emmit will be as dark as it is light now." said Lightning
"So I'll show up as an anti-starknight, right?" said Travis
"They're called vicelords, but yes. You will frighten those who you
encounter on this world." said Lightning.
"I guess we go to the meeting hall now." said Travis.
"Follow me..." said Lightning. Bunnie began to sulk as Traviv and
Lightning left the room.
Knothole vilage,meeting hall
12:55pm
Lightning drew another circle in the dirt, and another rune, allong with
a pentigram.
"You have until eight thirty nine to get back to the portal." said
Lightning.
"What happens then?" asked Travis
"It will be dark then, and I'll have to break the circle." said
Lightning.
"Why?" asked Travis
"The demons will be able to enter our world, durring hours of darkness.
said Lightning.
"I could leave Shadowslayer here." said Travis
"Who would wield it?" asked Lightning.
"He doesn't need someone to wield him." said Travis
"He?" asked Lightning
"Watch!" said Travis. Travis unsheathed Shadowslayer, Shadowslayer
took his wolf form.
"I forgot Shadowslayer could do that, It's been a little over a hundred
years since I read about Shadowslayer." said Lightning "Are you sure you
want to leave him here, if you do, you'll be deffensless."
"If I bring him, he'll blow my cover." said Travis
"True." said Shadowslayer
"And with Shadowslayer on this side, you can leave the circle unbroken.
Said Travis "One more thing, KEEP ANTOINE AWAY FROM THE CIRCLE!"
Travis stepped towards the portal. Lightning grabbed his shoulder
"Take this, I almost forgot to give you these." said Lightning, handing
Travis a backpack and a scroll.
"What are they?" asked Travis
"It's a pack of carrying, to put Amy in when you find her." said
Lightning "And a scroll of sfift travel."
"Take this!" said Sally, handing Travis four bottles of very cold water.
"I'm a bit nervous about this." said Travis
"I'd be terrified!" said Lightning. Lightning picked up a shiny red
stone from the ground without Travis noticing "Take this, it's called the
Stone of Valor."
"Stone of Valor?" asked Travis
"Yes, it wards off fear." said Lightning
"Thanks!" said Travis, putting the stone into his pocket.
"Remember, you need to get to the 'Iniquity Festival'" said Lightning.
"I'll remember." said Travis
"Farewell, Travis!" said Lightning. Travis stepped into the center of
the circle, and was teleported to the underworld. Travis looked around, and
saw six hooded people. Travis walked up to them, and spoke
"I need to get to the Iniquity Festival." said Travis
"That's where we're going." said one of the hooded travlers "You may
travel with us, but there's something I don't like about you."
"Hold on, I think I dropped something." said Travis, as he ran behind a
dead tree. Travis put on his amulet, hid it under his tunic, then rejoined
the travelers.
"Are you here for the barbecue, or the wares sale?" asked one of the
travelers.
"Both." said Travis
"Last time I was here, they had a young female Mobian fox at the
barbecue pit, I hear They have another Mobian there, this time a hedgehog,
I've always wanted to try one!" said one of the travelers.

himself.
After half an hour of walking, the group was at the gate of the festival
grounds. Each of the travelers showed their invitations to the gatekeeper.
<> Travis thought to himself.
"Where's your invitation?" asked The Gatekeeper. Travis pretended to
look for it in his pockets.
"I must have droped it on my way here." said Travis
"Let's see your face." said the gatekeeper. Travis reluctantly lifted
his hood.
"MUNTUK!" the gatekeeper exclaimed "Here, take these, they're on the
house, I'm sorry I didn't recognize your aura... Seven thousand credits!
not a credit coin less!" Travis took the bag of coins.
<> Travis thought to himself.
"Did someone bring a young pink female hedgehog for the barbecue?" asked
Travis
"Um... Yes, would you like some of it when it's cooked?" asked the
gatekeeper
"I'd rather have it alive." said Travis
"Well, everyone was looking foreward to eating it, but everyone knows
how you LOVE to eat live animals, so I'll get it for you... at the cost of,
oh, four thousand credits." Travis didn't hear what the gatekeeper said, as
he cleared his throat.
"I'm sorry, one thousand-five hundred credits, deal?" asked the
gatekeeper.
"Deal." said Travis.
"Here you go, one pink female hedgehog!" said the gatekeeper, handing
Amy to Travis. Amy was heavily bound, and was dehydrated. Travis walked
into an outhouse.
"Amy, it's me, Travis!" said Travis
"Travit?" said Amy. Travis untied Amy, and gave her some of his water,
now only lukewarm. A few minutes later, Amy came to her senses.
"What did you do with Travis!!!" yelled Amy. Travis put his hand over
Amy's mouth.
"Hush, I came here to save you!" said Travis "I am Travis, this is a
disguise."
"Then why do you sound like a demon?" asked Amy. Travis took off his
amulet and spoke "Is this better?"
"It IS you, Travis!" said Amy. Travis put the amulet back on
"You have to stay in this bag, until we get out of here, okay?" asked
Travis
"I'm scared, Travis." said Amy
"Take this, you need it more than I do." said Travis, handing Amy the
'valor' stone.
"What is it?" asked Amy
"It's a valor stone, it wards off fear." said Travis
"Okay." said Amy, in a cheerful manner. Travis left the outhouse,
almost ready to vomit. A demon walked up to Travis
"Muntuk! I'm glad you're here!" said the demon enthusiasticaly, Travis
nodded.
"You were here last year, and you asked me about some rings. Well, I
got them this year!" The demon lead Travis to his table "Here's the ring of
Sir Lotek, the Starknight, and a ring of holy light! I've removed the
energy of the rings, so they should be safe to handle. I hope you can still
use them in your collection."
"I can." said Travis "How many credits?"
"Five hundred is what we agreed on. They'd cost less, but they came
from a legendary starknight... The ultimate trophy!" Travis handed the
ring dealer five hundred credits.
Amy peaked out of the bag, and saw some very beautiful rings. Amy
pocketed the pretiest one, it had a large pink gemstone in it.

himself. Another curio dealer pulled Travis aside
"Hey, how would you like to own THE Shadowslayer sword?" asked the
dealer."
"No thank you." said Travis, Travis went back to the dealer he bought
the ring from. <> Travis thought to himself.
"Um, sir, do you have a ring of regeneration?" Travis asked
"No, I just sold the last one to a mortal named Jullian Ivo Robotnik"
said the ring dealer "How would you like a ring of a thousand curses?"
"No thanks. Could you tell me what rings you do have?"
"Well, I have some elemental rings, I have some..." said the ring
dealer, who was interupted by the P.A. system...
"Muntuk has just arived, there is an imposter among us! Five thousand
credits for the one who captures him!"
"Oh ****!" said Travis, as he ran for the enterance. Two guards were
blocking his path. Travis threw his credit coin bag into the air, and
tugged the bottom of the bag, sending credit coins everywhere. The area
became a bedlam, the frantic grabbing of credit coins. Travis managed to
make it to the gates, but the gatekeeper was closing the gate. Amy opened
the bag, enough to where she could see the gatekeeper. Amy dislodged one
of her sharp quills, and threw it at the gatekeeper like a dart. The quill
cought the gatekeeper's throat, and he dropped to the ground. Travis ran
throught the gate, and slammed it.
"Amy, there's a scroll in that bag somewhere, could you hand it to me?"
asked Travis.
"Hold on, this bag is alot bigger inside than outside." said Amy
"Hurry!" said Travis, they've almost got the door open!" said Travis.
The gete flew open, and twenty demons came through, and were almost close
enough to grab Travis.
"Here, take it!" Amy gave the scroll to Travis. Travis read the scroll
as fast as he could. There was a cool breeze, Travis ran. Travis was
running as fast as Sonic. Finaly, Travis was at the circle. Travis stood
in the circle's center, and was gone."

Travis appeared in the center of the circle. Shadowslayer pounced on
Travis.
"It's me, Travis, ya' big pooch!" said Travis, as he removed the amulet
"Sorry." said Shadowslayer. Travis cought a glimpse of sunlight
"I never thought I'd be so happy to see sunlight!" said Travis. Amy
climbed out of the bag, and looked to the blue sky "It's so pretty!" Amy
ran to the infirmery, and down to Bunnie's room, as fast as her little legs
could go.

"Here's a present, Bunnie." said Amy, handing Bunnie the ring she stole.
"Wha', it's beautiful!" said Bunnie, doing her best not to cry "Where'd
you get it, Amy"
"I picked it up." said Amy. Bunnie held the ring in her right hand.
"Be a dear, and put it on mah' finger." said Bunnie Amy placed the ring
on Bunnie's finger. Bunnie noticed a static spark from the ring, but didn't
pay any attention to it. The ring became warm.
"I'll se you later, Bunnie." said Amy
"Ah'll see ya' 'round." Said Bunnie, as she choked up, then burst into
tears again.

The Freedom fighters were talking about Travis' valiant rescue of Amy
Rose
"And Travis was running even faster than Sonic!" said Amy
"Hey, Lightning, could you identify these two rings for me? asked
Travis, handing the two rings to Lightning.
"This looks like the ring of the legendary Sir Lotek, the other is a
ring of holy light." said Lightning "What I can't figure out is, why didn't
the demons destroy them."
"Apparently this 'Muntuk' guy collects holy artifacts." said Travis
"Did you say Muntuk?!?" asked Lightning
"Yes, I did." said Travis
"Muntuk is an arch demon." said Lightning "He collects artifacts from
slain starknights. And he will probably be after you now, Travis."
"Is there any way I can be safe from him?" asked Travis
"You would be safe on Earth." said Lightning
"I will stay here untill Robotnik has been defeated." said Travis
"You won't be able to fight Robotnik, untill he returns to Mobius." said
Amy
"Robotnik is in the underworld right now. If we close the portal, we
can trap him there." said Lightning
"Then we should act now!" said Travis "We won't get a better chance!"
"Then we go!" said Sally "We set out in two hours!"
"We should use the transport ship to get there, that way I'll be at full
mana."
"Agreed!" said Sally

"Bunnie, I'll see to et zat Robotnik NEVER sets foot on this world
again!" said Antoine
"Hold me, Tony." said Bunnie. Antoine embraced Bunnie, a piece of
metal fell off of Bunnie's left shoulder, and hit the floor, making a
clanking sound.
"A piece of your arm fell off!" said Antoine
"Oh mah' stars!" said Bunnie "Doctor Quack! Come Quick!" Doctor Quack
entered the room. A loud popping sound came from Bunnie's shoulder.
"What is it?" said Doctor Quack
"A piece of somethin' fell offa' mah' arm!" said Bunnie. Doctor Quack
picked up the piece of metal that was lying in the floor
"Hmm... It looks like semi-metalic component." said Doctor Quack "Let
me take a look at your shoulder."
"Okay." said Bunnie
"This can't be right." said Doctor Quack "I remember specificaly noting
that you lost your entire humerus bone."
"What are you talkin' about?" asked Bunnie
"Let me get an x-ray of your shoulder, Bunnie." said Doctor Quack
"Why?" asked Bunnie
"There's something here that wasn't here before." said Doctor Quack
"When was the last time you clipped your fingernails?"
"The nurse clipped them this mornin'" said Bunnie.
"Impossible." said Doctor quack "It looks like you've let your nails
grow for half a year."
"The nurse clipped them this mornin'" said Bunnie "Ah'm not lyin'"
Doctor Quack pushed Bunnie's bed into the radiology room. After Doctor
Quack took a few x-ray photographs of Bunnies shoulder, he told her what he
saw.
"Normaly, mammals don't regenerate, but I compared your new x-ray
photographs with the ones I took earlier, and I noticed that ball part of
your ball-and-socket joint has been reformed." said Doctor Quack
"Are you sayin' that Ah'm growin' a new arm?" asked Bunnie.
"Yes, I am." said Doctor Quack. Another metal piece fell off, this time
it was from Bunnie's hip.
"I'm going to get an x-ray of your pelvis, and the surrounding area."
said Doctor Quack, as he walked into the control room.
Knothole meeting hall
6:01pm
All of the senior freedom fighters, except for Bunnie, were prepaired
for, what they hoped would be their last confrontation with Robotnik's
forces.
"We'll use the transport ship to get to Robotropolis." said Sally "And
Lightning will fly alongside us, and destroy any attacking forces. Rotor,
you,ve armed the ship, right?"
"Yes, I've attatched the fusion cannon we got when we got Lightning's
cannon." said Rotor
"Travis, you're up to full manner, right?" asked Sally
"That's mana, and yes, I am." said Travis
"Sonic, You have the three power rings you saved up, right?" asked Sally
"Yes, I do." said Sonic
"Antoine, You got the plasma rifles, and the grenades we've accumulated,
right?" asked Sally
"Yes." said Antoune "Ten proximity grenades, seventeen flares, and ten
fragmentary grenades."
"Fiona, have you made arrangements at the infirmery to have open rooms?"
asked Sally "One or more of us is most likely to get injured, and Travis may
not have the energy to heal us all."
"Yes, there are eight open treatment rooms, and one emergency opperating
room free." said Fiona "I also got the medical kits you requested."
"Geoffery, You've still got the maps of Robotropolis you had in your hip
pouch, Right?"
"Sure do, luv." said Geoffery.
"Tails, you got those communicators, right?" asked Sally
"Yes, I did." said Tails "I got eleven of 'em."
"Only nine of us are going." said Sally
"So Fiona gets to go, but I dont?!?" asked Tails
"Fiona is staying in the hospital, to help tend to the sick and injured
patients." said Sally
"Why can't I go?" asked Tails "You always treat me like a child!" Sally
handed Tails a loaded plasma rifle.
"You need to stay here, and protect Knothole." said Sally. Tails looked
at the charge clip on the plasma rifle Sally gave him
"It's loaded!" said Tails
"Yes, it's time that we gave you more responsibility." said Sally
"Detrao, Detrax, do you have those computer viruses I requested?"
"Yes." said Detrao and Detrax in unison.
"And I have My exoskeleton." said Sally "Let's go!"
"Uhm, Princess, Im requesting to stay on garrison duty." said Antoine
"If you're that woried about Bunnie, then I will have to order you to
stay here, you'd be a danger to us on the battlefield if you were
preoccupied with Bunnie's well-being."
"Thank you, princess." said Antoine
Knothole Infirmery, Bunnie's room

"This defies almost everything I know as medical fact!" said Docter
Quack, looking at the stump on Bunnie's left shoulder. "You've grown back
fourty percent of your arm, and thirty five percent of both of your legs."
Bunnie's ring was glowing, but neither Bunnie, nor Doctor Quack noticed. Amy
walked in.
"How're you doing, Bunnie?" asked Amy
"Ah'm doin' great!" said Bunnie
"You are?!" said Amy "You just lost your ar... Oopse, I didn't mean to
bring that up."
"You mean this?" asked Bunnie, lifting her left arm.
"I thought you were roboticized at your shoulder. said Amy "Not your
elbow."
"Ah' was roboticized at tha' shoulder" said Bunnie "But it's growin'
back!"
"I don't get it, mamals don't grow their limbs back." said Amy.
"I don't get it either, but it's happening." said Doctor Quack. Another
popping sound came from Bunnie's left arm, this time at her elbow.
"There's that sound again!" said Doctor Quack. "Let me take a look at
your... elbow?" Doctor Quack held a device up to Bunnies newly formed
elbow. "There are a couple new bones here, they might be the radius and the
ulna."
"What about mah' legs?" asked Bunnie
"They've stopped growing, for now." said Doctor quack "It looks like
whatever is causing your limbs to grow back is focusing on your arm.
Normaly, the body works on everything at once, but yours is focusing on your
arm in peticular. It's as if an external inteligent force were at work
here."
"So what happens when it finishes?" asked Bunnie
"I guess it will start on one of your legs, and then the other." said
Doctor Quack.
"What then?" asked Bunnie.
"I guess it stops." said Doctor Quack. Bunnie's stomach groweled
"Ah'm hungry!" said Bunnie
"You just polished off five plates of steamed carrots, less than an hour
ago... Five HEAPING plates of steamed carrots." said Doctor Quack "But I
would expect that frome someone who just grew back seven pounds of bodyparts
in a matter of hours. What would you like, Bunnie?"
"Ah'd like twenty chilidogs." said Bunnie
"I thought you didn't like meat." said Doctor Quack "You even grew a
carrot garden so you wouldn't have to eat it."
"I told you I WANT CHILLIDOGS!" said Bunnie "Oh my stars! What am I
sayin?"
"You're under alot of stress, physicaly... And mentaly." said Doctor
Quack. "Nurse! Bring Bunnie... twenty chilidogs." Antoine entered the
room. Doctor Quack left the room. Bunnie looked at her arm, and smiled.
"Uhm, Bunnie... I'm going to stay here with you." said Antoine.
"You don't have to do that, Tony." said Bunnie, cheerfuly
"Princess' orders." said Antoine
"Ya' know how we always wanted ta' get married, and go on a honeymoon to
flicky island?" said Bunnie "After we beat Robotnik, and I got mah' ol' legs
'an arm back?"
"Oui." said Antoine "But that won't be able to happen." said Antoine
"Why?" asked Bunnie, as she sat up without straining. Antoine was
astonished.
"Surprised, Tony?" asked Bunnie "My ear's grown back, too".
"How?" asked Antoine
"Ah' don't know, but it's happenin'" said Bunnie, looking deeply into
Antoine's eyes. Bunnie placed her right index finger on his nose, and ran
it up the front of his face to his forehead, then licked the tip of his
nose. Bunnie could feel her heart pounding, harder and harder. Bunnie
pulled Antoine closer. Antoine reached for Bunnie's halter top laces...
"Stop that! And stop it NOW!" shouted Doctor Quack "I leave you two
alone, for five minutes, in the same room... And look at you!"
"Ah' can explain..." said Bunnie
"You need to rest, Bunnie." said Doctor Quack
"Ah' WAS restin'" said Bunnie
"THAT did NOT look like RESTING!" said Doctor Quack "And you, Antoine,
can't you wait a day or two for this?"
"Uhm..." muttered antoine "She..."
"Rubbish!" snapped Doctor Quack "I will NOT tollerate this type of
behavior in my recovery room, or anywhere else on hospital grounds! Do I
make myself clear?!"
"Yes, Doctor." said Bunnie. Doctor Quack left the room. Bunnie looked
to her arm, and noticed that there was significantly more growth on her arm
than there was before Antoine came into the room. The regeneration had
nearly reached her wrist. <> Bunnie
thought to herself <>
"Tony, could you do me a favor?" asked Bunnie
"What?" asked Antoine.
"Come here." said Bunnie. Antoine walked to Bunnie's bed.
"What eez et?" asked Antoine.
"Would you lock the door, please?" asked Bunnie
"Oui." answered Antoine, as he walked to the door, and locked it.
Antoine returned to Bunnie's bedside.
"Could you do me another favor?" asked Bunnie
"Oui" said Antoine. Bunnie extended her right hand. Antoine
placed his hand on Bunnie's hand...
Fifteen minutes later
There was a sound of a doornob being turned, then a key being inserted
into the lock. Bunnie and Antoine didn't hear the door opening. Doctor
Quack entered the room, saw the two, then gasped. Doctor Quack placed his
hand over his heart, then quickly stepped out of the room. Doctor Quack
franticaly searched for his inhaler. After Doctor Quack regained his
senses, he braced himself, and went back into the room. Doctor Quack was
silent for about five minutes, then he spoke.
"I... You... "
"Tony, you better get outa' here." said Bunnie, Antoine slipped out the
door, and ran.
"Bunnie, I expected more mature behavior from you than... this." said
Doctor Quack "It's things like this that give your species a bad rep."
"What are you sayin?!?" asked Bunnie.
"I told you two to wait untill you were done... healing, then you two
could do whatever you wanted to do.
"Like this?" asked Bunnie, holding out her furless left hand "Or this?"
removing the blanket, revealing her furless legs.
"There's also the mater of mental healing." said Doctor Quack
"Bull!" hollered Bunnie, shaking her right index finger at Doctor
Quack "I would have to say, THAT is THE biggest crock of bull I have
ever heard in my entire life."
"Calm down, Bunnie." said Doctor Quack "Or I'll have to administer some
sedatives."
"I'm outa' here!" said Bunnie. Doctor Quack blocked her way.
"I'm sorry, I cant let you out of here." said Doctor Quack. Bunnie saw
Antoine behind Doctor Quack
"Tony!" yelled Bunnie "Get Sally Girl, and get the Heck out of here
before they get you!" Antoine ran out of the hospital, and ran to the
guard's tower.
"Bunnie, you brought this on yourself..." said Doctor Quack, brandishing
a hypodermic syringe. Two orderlies approached Bunnie, one on each side.
Bunnie went into attack stance, but made the mistake of leading with a left
uppercut, which she was used to doing when she had robotic limbs. The two
orderlies quickly overtook Bunnie, and Doctor Quack promptly stuck her with
the needle, and injected the sedatives into her left arm.
"This will calm you down a little" said Doctor Quack
"I... er... uh..." muttered Bunnie, as she fell to the ground. Bunnie
drooled
Robotropolis

The freedom fighter assault force arrived in Robotropolis
"This has been TOO easy." Said Sally.
"Did I forget to tell you that I uploaded a series of viruses to
Robotnik's defense systems?" asked Detrax
"Yhea! And we locked Snivley in his closet too!" said Detrao, the two
androids began to laugh.
"I realy wish you two would have mentioned that earlier." said Sally
"I'll bet he's still in there." said Detrao.
"You know, you're going to have to let him out when we get there." said
Travis. Detrao and Detrax stoped laughing
"I have a bad feeling, as if something realy bad were happening at
Knothole." said Sally
"I've got the same feeling." said Dulcy
"You ladies wory too much." said Geoffery. Sally looked to Travis, and
she could see terror in his eyes.
"Travis?" asked Sally
"No... not the needle..." said Travis, as if he were in a trance
"Wake up!" said Sally. When that didn't work, Sally slapped him.
"What the?!?" said Travis, getting his bearings.
"I'm sorry, but I had to do that." said Sally
"It was a vision." said Travis. Lightning swooped down and landed.
"None of the guards are functioning correctly" said Lightning "It's as
if they were all in order request mode, I even walked up to one and flicked
it's nose."
"Apparently, Detrax loaded several viruses into Robotnik's computers."
said Sally
"So we just walk in, and close the portal, no fuss, no muss?" asked
Lightning.
"I guess." said Sally. Lightning noticed that Travis had his fingertips
on his temples
"You're at the level where you will have visions." said Lightning "One
more level, and you'll be able to regenerate Bunnie's limbs."
"The vision I had..." said Travis "Needles! NEEDLES!!!!"
"Okay, I want you to separate from the visions, but tell me what you
see.
"I see Doctor Quack, and he's as tall as I am." said Travis
"You must be viewing through someone elses eyes." said Lightning
"Blurry." said Travis
"Can you see your hands or feet?" asked Lightning
"I can see my left hand." said Travis
"What color is the fur on it?" asked Lightning
"I TOLD you, it's MY hand, there is no fur!" said Travis
"Look at your feet, is there fur there, or shoes?" asked Lightning
"I'm barefooted." said Travis "It's blurry."
"And your right arm?" asked Lightning
"Wait! That's Bunnie's right arm!" said Travis "Bunnie's the only one I
know with blond fur on the right hand."
"Concentrate on the left hand, you are in no danger." said Lightning
"Concentrate!"
"The left hand isn't mine, it's to dainty, to feminine to be mine."
said Travis "But it has no fur."
"Do you see anything else?" asked Lightning
"Yes, there's a drop of blood, a small drop." said Travis "And the left
shoulder, it's numb. There are two orderlies standing over me now.
Everything's going black."
"Sally, I'm going to Take Travis back to Knothole, The trip here using
the transport ship was not needed, and we won't need my magic, so I'm using
the Teleport spell. Fly the ship back to Knothole, if you can. We may have
later use for it." Lightning did his usual circle-in-the-dirt teleport
spell, then he and Travis vanished."
"Alright everyone, we've got a job to do. Let's get that portal closed,
so we can go home." said Sally. The Freedom fighters were half way to their
destination, the portal chamber, when Sally tripped a functional laser beam,
and was swallowed into a trap door. Sally came to in a poorly lit room.
"You okay, Sal'" asked Dark Sonic
"Yes, how did you get here?" asked Sally
"The back way." said Dark Sonic
"Where are the others?" asked Sally
"Their way back to the teleport circle." said Dark Sonic "The portal's
closed now"
"Orders were to recover the transport ship if possible." said Sally.
Sonic began to massage Sally's shoulders.
"You can stop, Sonic." said Sally. Dark Sonic began to Choke Sally.
"Don't you remember all the fun we had here?" said Dark Sonic
Sally smelled beer, a smell she had learned to hate during those
fourteen months of nightmarish imprisionment.
"NO!" screamed Sally "NOT YOU!"
Dark Sonic pulled out his pocket knife, and slit the main power cable to
Sally's exoskeleton, and slit Sally's wrist.
"Limp as a wet rag!" said Dark Sonic, laughing as if he had made
some sort of a joke.
"Stop it right there, you piece of trash!" said light Sonic
"You've ruined my fun. Now I'll ruin your girl! Or should I say, MY
girl!"
"I'm gonna ruin your face, for what you did to Sall'!" said Sonic,
aiming his plasma rifle at dark sonic "Along with the rest of you!" Sonic
pulled the trigger, and vaporized dark Sonic's arm, Dark Sonic laughed,
untill he noticed his arm missing. Sonic set his Plasma rifle above if safe
setting, and fired again, sending a huge flash of light. When
Sonic's eyes adjusted to the dark, Dark Sonic was gone, but Sonic could
hear his voice.
"Oh, Sall', what did he do to you?" asked Sonic "What did that monster
DO to you?" Rotor and the others showed up.
"We destroyed thr crystal that holds the underworld portal open" said
Rotot. Sonic was crying.
"What's wrong with Sally?" asked Rotor. Sonic pointed To Sally's
wounds, and Sally was unconcious.
"We've got to get her outa' here!" said Sonic, crying "She's lost alot
of blood!"
"You get her to the teleport circle" Said Rotor "I'll pilot the ship
back." Sonic nodded, picked Sally up in his arms, and disappeared, leaving
a blur.
Knothole village Infirmery,

Doctor Quack and Travis were arguing
"Bunnie was getting violent." said Doctor Quack "So I had to administer
sedatives"
"I'm going to try something... AN NOX!" said Travis, Bunnie sat up, and
regained her senses
"How did you do that?" asked Doctor Quack, body shaking, eyes wide open.
"You poisoned her!" said Travis
"I did not!" said Doctor Quack, shaking
"Than why did a cure poison spell bring her out of it." asked Travis
"I... I... I... uh..." said Doctor Quack as he fell to the floor.
Travis looked over Doctor Quack's body. The nurse looked at the bottle that
Doctor Quack put in the needle.
"Bunnie's alergic to this stuff!" said the nurse
"He smells like a thousand pots a' coffee." said Travis, looking to the
nurse. "When's the last time he slept?"
"A couple of weeks ago." said the nurse. Travis looked To Bunnie, and
asked "Are you okay?"
"Ah'm doin' great!" said Bunnie
"Even without your..."said Travis, but he was interupted
"Without this?" asked Bunnie, holding up her furrless left arm. Travis
noticed that Bunnie's left hand looked like a human's hand, but it was
pink, and almost skeletal.
"Would ya come a little closer, shugga'?" asked Bunnie "There's
somethin' ah' need to tell ya'"
"Yes." asked Travis
"Closer..." said Bunnie. When Travis was close enough, Bunnie placed
her left hand on Travis' hand, and put her right hand behind Travis' head.
Then, suddenly, Bunnie pulled his head to her's and french kissed him...
deep. Travis pulled away.
"What in Sam Hill are you doin'?!?" said Travis "Did you just get done
drinking a fifth of spanish fly? I'm glad you got your arm back, but I'm
outa here!" Travis left the room. Bunnie hopped off of the bed, and
followed him. Travis saw Antoine at the entrance of the infirmery.
"How eez Bunnie?" asked Antoine. Travis came up to Antoine's ear
"Be VERY careful around her, I think she's in heat!" said Travis,
Antoine turned his nose up. Just then, Sonic appeared, crying
"What's wrong?" asked Travis. Travis looked down, and saw Sally. "This
is not good."
"Where's Doctor Quack?" asked Sonic
"Quack's quackered out, I'll try to heal her." said Travis. Sonic set
Sally down on the bed. Travis began to heal the deep knife wounds inflicted
by Sonic's evil double.
"There, this is all I can do." said Travis
"What's wrong with her?" asked Sonic
"She's lost alot of blood" said Travis "That would call for a
regeneration spell, a spell I can't cast."
"What'll we do?!?" screamed Sonic "We can't let her die!"
"We'll have to give her a blood transfusion." said Travis. A nurse came
up to the group
"I'm sorry, but we don't have any of Princess Sally's blood type." said
the nurse. Travis clenched his teeth, and groweled. Everyone backed away
from him.
"I... am... so... ticked... off..." said Travis "This hospital is so
backwards. I... have never... been... so... ticked off". Travis busted a
blood vessel in both his eyes.
"He ez possessed!" yelled Antoine, running out of the room. Travis
began to breathe heavily
"Tell me if I'm wrong..." said Travis, doing his best not to attack the
nurse "You knew there would most likely be heavily injured people coming in,
RIGHT!?!"
"Um, sir, calm down." said the nurse, edging towards an allarm switch
"Don't mess with me!" said Travis "So help me, If I see one orderly, I
will tear him, and any others, limb from limb!"
"We had the blood, but the blood suplies were destroyed when the cooler
broke down." said the nurse
"Shouldn't you have a backup system?" said Travis, who was starting to
cool down
"This was the backup system." said the nurse "We were using modified
food refridgerators."
"Then I'll give the blood myself." said Sonic
"You just donated an entire half pint, two days ago." said the nurse
"I don't care!" said Sonic "I place her life above my own! If she dies,
my life means NOTHING!!"
"Alright" said the nurse
Knothole infirmery, waiting room

Travis, Lightning, and the freedom fighters were all waiting to hear
about Sally's condition
"I should have been there." said Lightning, pacing back and forth "I was
so cought up in my new life that I forgot all about my oath to protect her"
"You wouldn't have been any good there, you wouldn't have been able to
get through that trap door"
"I should have stayed there." said Travis. The nurse came through the
door, and sighed in reliefe
"The Princess is concious." said the nurse.
"What about Sonic?" asked Travis
"He's fine" said the nurse
"May I see her?" asked Lightning
"I don't see why not." said the nurse. The nurse escourted Lightning to
Sally & Sonic's room.
"Hello, Lightning." said Sally
"I'm so sorry." said Lightning
"Don't be. if you would have stayed with the group, that teleport
circle would not have been there. And Sonic wouldn't have been able to get
me back here."
"But my purpose is to protect you." said Lightning "That's why I stayed
on this world."
"I don't own you, you have a life." said Sally "If things had been
different, I'd be dead right now."
"But the ends do not always justify the means." said Lightning
"In this case it did." said Sally
"I'm sorry, but Sally needs to go to sleep now" said the nurse
"I will." said Sally "Give me a minute"
"Alright." said the nurse
"Lightning, I am alive because of you." said Sally "I hold nothing
against you."

The freedom fighters were in a meeting
"Inteligence indicates that there is one branch of Robotnik's military
left that hasn't been taken out by Dertax's viruses." said Sally "If we can
take it out in time, they won't have time to send an antidote to the main
computer." Sally stapled a piece of paper to the billboard.
"This is the duty roster for the attack group." said Sally. All the
freedom fighters ran to the roster, including Travis.
"Why am I not on this roster?" asked Travis "you'll need my healing and
magic abilities."
"I have reason to believe that you would not be... effective... against
the type of enemy we will be facing, I'm sorry." answered Sally
"What are you talking about?" asked Travis
"Inteligence has reported that the general of this branch of Robotnik's
military is an overlander.
"So was Robotnik, but I kicked his butt." said Travis
"A female overlander." said Sally
"When I was in gradeschool, girls picked on me all the time, and I would
have hit them, except they were girls" said Travis.
"That's my point, Travis." said Sally.
"I saved your life, I've cooked for you for almost two months, I de-
roboticized you, I broke that endless sleep curse, I traveled to the
underworld and back to save Amy, I... I..."
"I don't know." said Sally, Rotor interupts
"If he wears an infrared helmet, he won't see her" said Rotor "Out of
sight, out of mind."
"You may go, Travis." said Sally "But you are NOT to remove the helmet!
do I make myself clear?"
"Yes." said Travis.
"Good, you're on the roster" said Sally "Everyone! we head out after
lunch!"

Lunch time, everyone was enjoying Travis' cooking except for Travis
"What's wrong?" asked Tails
"I'm not hungry." said Travis
"Why?" asked Tails
"The battle I'm going to." said Travis "Perhaps Sally was correct in
leaving me off of that roster, I might get someone killed."
"You'll do okay," said Tails "I believe in you." Rotor walked up to
Travis.
"I managed to piece together a second fusion cannon for our transport
ship. I also used some of your theories to develop lightweight armor which
is impervious to laser and plasma weapons. The ship can take it's
pasengers, and itself out of phase for a full fifteen seconds!" said Rotor.
"That's nice." said Travis
"What's wrong?" asked Rotor
"I'm nervous about the mission." said Travis "Realy nervous."
"Here, you need this now." said Amy, handing the red valor stone to
Travis
"Thank you, Amy." said Travis, taking the stone "I'm going to need it."
Travis stoped shaking.
"Here's that helmet." said Rotor
"Thanks." said Travis, donning the helmet
"You don't have to wear it yet." said Rotor
"I'm just checking the ventilation in this thing." said Travis "Not to
shabby." Travis removed the helmet.
"It's a combat helmet, I found it in the warehouse." said Rotor
"There's quite a bit of room in the front though." said Travis
"It was made for a wolf." said Rotor
"I see." said Travis
"Let's go, Sally's waiting for us at the Avenger." said Rotor
"The Avenger?" asked Travis
"That's what we named the transport ship." said Rotor
"That's a cool name." said Travis

"Okay, everyone is accounted for." said Sally "Rotor, let's go." Rotor
powered up the craft. The craft departed from Knothole.
"We'll mop the floor with this hag, then have a REAL party" said
Geoffery. Travis felt alienated, and had a bad feeling in the pit of his
stomach.
"I feel sick." said Travis
"Feeling motion sickness?" asked Sally
"Can't be that" said Rotor "I've installed gravity dampers."
"It's that general, isn't it?" asked Sonic.
"Just picture 'er as an ol', warty, greenskinned hag." said Bunnie.
"With extra earwax dripping from her ears." said Detrao.
"And scabs all over her face." said Detrax
"And the smell of a thousand rotting corpses." said Detrao
"How did you two get in here?" asked Travis
"Well, we opened the door..." said Detrao
"So you snuck in?" asked Travis
"Um..." said Detrax
"Just great!" said Travis "This could get ugly"
"It's too late to turn around." said Sally "they'll have to stay in the
ship with Rotor."
"How long 'till we get there?" asked Travis
"Half an hour." said Rotor.
"That's it?" asked Travis.
"With the fusuin cannons crossed over with the engines, the Avenger can
reach speeds up to six thousand kilometers per hour, in theory" said Rotor
"In theory?" asked Travis
"The gravity dampers couldn't handle that much force" said Rotor "It
would crush everyone inside the ship."
"I see." said Travis
Torhia miitary base
1:10pm
The Avenger landed silently. The freedom fighters exited the craft.
"Remember the attack plan." said Sally. A group of unusualy large
combots came out of a nearby building, unseen.
"Travis!" Sally hissed "Put on your helmet!"
"Okay." said Travis, donning the helmet. Lightning scouted ahead.
"Ah' heard somethin'." whispered Bunnie. Everyone turned to the
direction Bunnie was looking in, except Travis, who could not hear Bunnie.
The Freedom Fighters followed Bunnie, as Travis walked off in a different
direction, assuming the others were following. A cloaked combot threw a
neural stun grenade near the group of freedom fighters, rendering them all
unconcious. They were captured without a fight. Travis realized he was
alone, and hit the button on his wrist communicator, no answer.
Onboard the Avenger

A red light flashed, unnoticed.
"No, I'm quite certain Sally's a squirrel." said Rotor
"But she's got a hamster tail." said Detrao
"Detrao, everyone you've asked about this subject has told you that
Sally is a squirrel, not a hamster. She's a squirrel." said Detrax
"You told me you agreed with me." said Detrao
"Did not!" said Detrax
"Did to!" said Detrao
"DID NOT!" said Detrax
"YES YOU DID! I specificaly remember, you were playing with your
gamedude, and I asked you if she looked more like a hamster than a
squirrel, and you said 'sure'" said Detrao
"Then apparently I wasn't paying atention to your squabble" said Detrax.
Outer Fortress

Travis heard the clanking of combots walking his way, Travis hid in the
shadows, hoping they would not notice him, and they didn't. Travis let
himself into the ventilation shaft, and made his way to the control center.
Travis could see the infrared signature of another human, apparently the
general. Travis waited untill all the guards were gone, then he busted
through the grate, aimed his plasma rifle at the general, and pulled the
trigger. Nothing happened, the rifle wasn't loaded. The general screamed
for the guards. Travis franticaly reached for his rifle clip, had it in his
hand, then dropped it on the floor. Three large combots stormed into the
room, and aimed their rifles at Travis. Travis dropped his rifle, and
raised his hands.
"Something you might want to see..." said the general. Travis heard her
voice, but it was distorted. Several more combots walked in, each holding a
freedom fighter, handcuffed and shackled.
"I am an honorable woman, unlike Robotnik. Here's the deal, if you can
defeat me, I'll let you and your comrades leave unharmed. But if I defeat
you, you are to allow yourselves to be roboticized."
"Sally, what should I do?" asked Travis
"If you refuse, we'll be no better off." answered Sally
"Is it a deal?" asked the general
"Y... Yes." answered Travis. The general threw Travis a broadsword.
<> Travis picked up the sword.
"Now that we are equaly armed..." said the general, going into a
defensive stance "Engarde!" Travis noticed, by the way the general held her
sword, that she was left-handed. Travis studied the general's temperature
variations, and was able to predict most of her moves. The fight went on
for several minutes.
"You can beat that ugly skank!" said Bunnie. The freedom fighters
looked at Bunnie in surprise. Bunnie's comment enraged the general. The
general aimed the hilt of her sword at Travis, and twisted the pommel of her
sword, spraying Travis's helmet with some sort of chemical, which made him
dizzy. Travis fell to the ground.
"You cheated!" yelled Sally
"No, I didn't cheat, rat queen." said the general "His sword had a
loaded hilt also."
"That wasn't fair!" said Sally.
"Life's not fair either." said the general. Travis tried to lift his
sword, but he was too week. The general placed the tip of her sword to
Travis' throat.
"Before I slit your throat" said the general "I'd like to see your furry
face, so i can see the fear in your eyes, as I behead you."
"That wasn't part of the deal!" said Sally
"I'll roboticize the remains." said the general. Travis unbuckled his
helmet, and removed it. The general gazed in awe. Travis' eyes began to
focus. Travis' and the general's eyes met. The general dropped her sword,
All was silent. Five minutes later, the general motione the combots to take
the freedom fighters away, then spoke
"I am general Mhortek." said the general "But you may call me Jackie."
"I am Travis Torric, starknight." said Travis "You may call me Travis."
"Why do you ally yourself with... them?" asked Jackie
"Their cause is geniune." said Travis
"To whipe out our race?!" asked Jackie
"To stop Robotnik's forces." said Travis
"Or you could join me, and whipe THEM out." said Jackie "Imagine, a
world ruled by overlanders, without... Them."
"Do you have any friends on this world?" asked Travis
"No... But I would if I whiped out those furfaces!" said Jackie
"What would you say if I told you there was a world like that?" asked
Travis.
"I'd say you were full of it." said Jackie
"Then I'm full of it." said Travis
"What are you saying?" asked Jackie
"I am not from this world, I'm from a parallel world called Earth." said
Travis.
"Prove it!" said Jackie
"There is a portal to my world, less than a mile from Knothole vilage."
said Travis.
"If the Freedom Fighters get a chance, they'll kill me." said Jackie
"I won't let them." said Travis "I give you my word as a starknight."
"If they kill me..." said Jackie
"They won't." said Travis. Just then, the door flew open. Lightning
and the Freedom Fighters stormed into the the room, Sally aimed her rifle at
Jackie, and motioned her to step away from Travis
"Good job, Travis." said Sally
"You LIED!" snarled Jackie
"Eat plasma!" yelled Sally, begining to pull the trigger
"Zhem vienge!" intoned Travis. A burst of light shot from Sally's rifle
and stoped one foot short of Jackie. Jackie sighed in relief
"I knew this would happen, Travis!" said Sally "REMOVE THAT SHIELD!!!"
"I can't" said Travis
"I know you're able to do that, so do it!" snapped Sally
"I promised Jackie that no harm would come to her." said Travis
"You're on a first name basis now!?!" asked Sally "I ORDER you to remove
that shield!"
"He doesn't have to listen to you, rat queen!" said Jackie
"I don't believe this." said Sally
"Some soverign you are." said Travis "Just like the queen of hearts in
Alice in wonderland!"
"What are you talking about, Travis?" asked Sally, with a puzzled look.
"A story." said Travis "With a ruthless queen... Sentence first, then
trial"
"So be it, General Mhortek will be tried... Then executed!" said Sally
"Lightning, remove the shield."
"An Zhem vienge!" intoned Lightning.
"Take her." said Sally. Lightning picked up Jackie by her shoulders.
"I'm sorry, Jackie." said Travis. Sally walked to the main control
pannel, and set the self destruct mechanism. A tear ran down Jackie's
cheek."
"I didn't know overlanders had tears." said Geoffery
"Hey!" said Travis
"Let's go, Travis." said Sally. Travis took a deep breath.
"Okay." said Travis
Onboard the Avenger
1:18pm
The Freedom Fighters brought Jackie to the Avenger. Antoine handcuffed
both of Jackie's hands to one of the seats. Antoine spat at Jackie.
"You didn't have to do that Antoine." said Travis
"You don't understand... so back out!" said Bunnie. Travis pulled out
a napkin, whiped off the spit, and sat down next to Jackie.
"They're going to kill me." said Jackie "I know you mean to protect me,
but they outnumber us... They've always outnumbered us."
"On my world, there are over four billion of us." said Travis
"I wish I could see your world, but I guess that it was not meant to
be." said Jackie "Thank's for trying."
Knothole, Avenger's landing area
2:45pm
The Avenger landed silently, then there was a strange sound.
"What is that noise, Rotor?" asked Sally
"The propulsion system has overheated!" yelled Rotor "The ship is going
to explode! RUN!" The Freedom Fighters ran out the door, except for
Travis, who stayed to get Jackie unbound.
"Hit the dirt!" yelled Sally. The freedom fighters jumped into the
nearby trench. The Avenger went up in a massive explosion, metal scraps
landed everywhere, the largest scrap was a piece of the control pannel,
about a foot wide. A handcuff landed infront of Sally, Dertao and Detrax
gazed in horror.
"I shouldn't have let him go..." said Sally
"I shouldn't have suggested the helmet." said Rotor
"Well, guess this saves time on General Mhortek's trial." said Geoffery
"I'm hungry, who's up fer barbecued fish sandwiches?" The freedom fighters
all stared at geoffery.
"How can you think of food at a time like this?!?" said Sally
"Easy." said Geoffery "I just remembered this great joke. There were
these two overlanders..."
"We don't like your attitude!" said Detrao and Detrax.
"Now that Travis isn't around..." said Geoffery, jumping at Detrax.
Detrax dodged, and a tube projected from Detrao's right hand. Geoffery got
up. A stream of liquid squirted from the tube, into Geoffery's eyes.
"My eyes 're on fire!" screamed Geoffery.
"What did you shoot at him?!?" asked Sally
"Just a little mace, he'll be fine in an hour." said Detrao
"Mace?" asked Sally
"Deffense spray." said Detrax
"He attacked Detrax." said Detrao. Geoffery rolled on the ground
screaming. Rotor sifted through the wreckage for half an hour.
"This is all I found" said Rotor, holding up Travis' knife. Sally began
to cry, so did Sonic, and Rotor. Antoine hung hid head low. Geoffery
smirked. Tails and Fiona came to the scene.
"What happened?" asked Fiona
"Where's the Avenger?" asked Tails
"The Avenger... exploded." said Rotor
"Travis told us you were back here." said Tails
"What!?" said Sally
"He was with this female overlander." said Fiona
"Where are they now?" asked Sally
"At the infirmery." said Fiona
"Let's go, before she causes trouble." said Sally
Knothole Infirmery

Travis and Jackie were in the checkup room with Doctor Quack, who was
trying to remove a clampbomb from Amy Rose's arm
"You can't stay out of trouble, can you, kid?" asked Travis
"This is serious." said Doctor Quack "If we mess up, the whole infirmery
is rubble."
"I know how these things work." said Jackie. Jackie pressed several
buttons on the bomb. The bomb released Amy's arm.
"How did you know how to do that?" asked Doctor Quack
"I'd rather not say." said Jackie
"I must know." said Doctor Quack
"I... I... helped to..." said Jackie.
"That's general Mhortek!" yelled Sally
"You're the one who designed this horrable device!" said Doctor Quack
"I'm sorry. I've never seen the damage I've caused first hand" said
Jackie "I understand why you hate me."
"Doctor, I need five orderlies to escourt general Mhortek to the holding
cell." said Sally
"No need for that, I'll go willingly." said Jackie "I'm going to get it
one way or another. It may as well be now."
"But..." said Travis
"Travis." said Sally "General Mhortek is Robotnik's niece, as long as
she's alive, she's a threat to every life on this planet."
"I see..." said Travis
"Well, now you know my secret." said Jackie "I suppose you hate me now."
"No I don't." said Travis
"Well I DO!" said Sally "Robotnik sent my father to the void!"
"I was a sixteen year old living in Mega Central at the time. I didn't
even know my uncle was Robotnik."
"That makes you Snivley's sister." said Travis
"Half sister!" said Jackie "My mother was a single parrent."
"How did you get to be a general?" asked Travis.
"When my mother passed away, three years ago, Robotnik's contacts
informed him of it. Robotnik came to me, promising power and prestige. I
got power and prestige, and nothing else. No friends, nothing"
"A sad story." said Sally "But it changes NOTHING! You will be tried at
sunset." Five wolf orderlies came in and draged Jackie away.
"Um, Sally..." said Travis
"What?" asked Sally. Travis could tell Sally was annoyed.
"I've put alot of thought into this, but..." said Travis
"But what?!" said Sally "I don't have all day!"
"If Jackie aggrees not to come back, would she be able to return to
Earth with me?"
"Absolutely NOT!" answered Sally
"But..." said Travis
"But NOTHING!" said Sally "I've made up my mind, and that is FINAL!!"
"I see..." said Travis, walking out the door. Sonic cought Travis on
his way out.
"I thought you were blown to bits." said Sonic, holding up Travis'
knife.
"I used a blink spell." said Travis "And I was wondering where that
was." Travis pointed at the knife.
"Cool!" said Sonic
"I have some things I need to do." said Travis
Knothole mess hall
6:00pm
The freedom fighters were waiting for their food, but Travis wasn't
there to serve. Sally found a note on the refridgerator, it read:
"I'm not feeling well, there are some sallads I've prepared in the
refridgerator. If you need anything, I'll be in my hut
-Travis"
Travis' hut
6:09pm
Travis was packing his backpack, and the belongings he had aquired
during his stay on Mobius. Tails walked in.
"You weren't at the messhall today. Tonight's spaghetti night, you love
making spaghetti. What's wrong?" Travis turned his back to Tails, Travis
didn't want Tails to see that he had been crying. Travis sniffled.
"N... nothing." said Travis, fighting his best not to cry
"Is there anything I can do?" asked Tails. Travis sniffled again
"No, there isn't." said Travis
"Do you want me to go away?" asked Tails
"It realy doesn't matter." said Travis
"Are you crying?" asked Tails
"No!" said Travis
"O... Okay, I'll go away" said Tails, leaving Travis' hut. Geoffery
walked up to Travis' door.
"Hello mate." Geoffery said.
"I take it you want to gloat, well go ahead. I don't think I can feel
any worse than I do now." Geoffery didn't say anything.
"Where are all the 'stupid overlander' jokes, or the 'how many
overlanders does it take to screw in a lightbulb', or the dirty knock-knock
jokes." Geoffery was silent.
"Where's all the 'dead overlander' jokes?" asked Travis
"I'm not here to gloat." said Geoffery "Tails said you were packing up
your stuff to go home."
"That's about right." said Travis
"I came to say I'm sorry about being such a heel. I'm sorry about the
party thing, too." said Geoffery
"Too little too late, I'm leaving tomorow morning." said Travis
"It's that female overlander, isn't it?" asked Geoffery.
"It realy doesn't matter one way or another." said Travis "Sally's made
up her mind. And on this world Sally gets what Sally wants."
"The trial is over." said Geoffery
"What was the verdict?" asked Travis
"General Mhortek will be executed at nine, tomorow." said Geoffery "What
do you see in her anyway?"
"I don't know. I just felt as if I were destin to meet her." said
Travis.
"Hmmm... I think I understand." said Geoffery "I'll have a word with
Sally."
"If you realy wanna' get chewed out, be my guest." said Travis, holding
an empty can of Jookie.
"What's with the can?" asked Geoffery "It's been on your dresser ever
since you've been here."
"I won a contest. This can's worth one-hundred thousand dollars." said
Travis
"Dollars?" asked Geoffery
"It's the unit of currency in my country, on my world." said Travis
"Is a hundred thousand dollars alot of money?" asked Geoffery
"Yes, it is." said Travis
"You might want to go to the jail tonight." said Geoffery
"Why?" asked Travis
"If you were giong to be hanged tomoror, and you only had one friend in
the world, wouldn't you want that person to be with you?" asked Geoffery.
"I guess." said Travis "Since I'm almost done packing, I guess I could
spend the night at the jail when I'm done."
Knothole jail
6:59pm
Geoffery escourted Travis to the jail. It was dark. Travis opened the
door and stepped in.
"Halt!" said Antoine
"It's me, Travis." said Travis
"Sally told me you would be here." said Antoine "I suggest you leave."
"An myght!" Travis intoned, but nothing happened
<> Travis thought to himself
"Now I see why overlanders on this world hate you." said Travis, leaving
the jail.
Rotor's workshop
7:45pm
Detrao and Detrax were discussing the theories of the gravaton emmiter.
"So that's it?" said Rotor "I don't know why I didn't think of that,
it's so simple." Travis walked in.
"Detrao, Detrax, we're leaving tomorrow." said Travis
"But with Detrao, Detrax, and your help, we may be able to open portals
from different areas."
"I said Detrao, Detrax, WE ARE LEAVING TOMORROW." said Travis
"But..." said Rotor
"Detrao, Detrax, I need help packing." said Travis
"Well, Rotor... See ya' around." said Detrao
"Good luck with the portal thing" said Detrax
"This wouldn't be over that general Mhortek, would it?" asked Rotor.
"And what if it is?" asked Travis
"Well, she's pure evil." said Rotor
"If she were evil, I would have sensed it." said Travis
"You should speak with Sally." said Rotor
"I'll do that." said Travis.
Sally's hut

Travis knocked on Sally's door
"Come in, Travis" said Sally. Travis opened toe door and came in.
"How did you know it was me?" asked Travis
"The knock came from the top of the door, and I can recognize Dulcy's
knock, but it wasn't hers. So it must have been you." said Sally
"I came here to ask you to..." said Travis, but Sally interupted
"The answer is no." said Sally
"Why?" asked Travis.
"Because I said so." said Sally
"Please tell me, it's important that I know." said Travis
"She is a threat, no matter where she goes." said Sally "Mobius or
Earth, it doesn't matter."
"Or is it that you're so filled with hatred towards anyone who you can
connect with Robotnik?" said Travis. Sally didn't speak.
"I promised her that no harm would come to her. I gave my word as a
starknight." said Travis "I sensed much good in her."
"You were in no position to do that." said Sally
"What other penalties were availiable for Ja... General Mhortek?" asked
Travis
"Electricution and gas." said Sally
"Where is the book on this?" asked Travis "Or did you make it all up?"
"There is a book on my bookshelf." said Sally. Sally walked to the
bookshelf, removed a book, walked to Travis, and handed him the book.
"You should be able to find what you want to know here." said Sally.
Travis took the book to his hut and began to read it.
Sally's hut
9:01pm
Sally and Sonic were talking.
"This is the first night I've been able to sleep in my own bed. But I
can't sleep." said Sally
"Maybe you should sleep at the infirmery." said Sonic. Travis knocked
on the door frame, the door was open.
"What is it, Travis?" asked Sally
"This book is missing a couple pages." said Travis "The pages I'm
looking for." Travis handed Sally the book.
"I have to go by what's left in the book." said Sally "I'm sorry."
"I've decided to return to Earth." said Travis "I'm leaving tomorrow."
"We'll miss you." said Sonic
"You're not staying to help rebuild Mobotropolis?" asked Sally
"No, I need to go home." said Travis. Travis steped into the light
where Sally could see his face.
"Have you been crying?" asked Sally. Travis left, without answering
Sally's question.
"He is NOT taking this well, Sall'" said Sonic. Sally looked at part of
the page that wes still there, and could make out a few of the smeared
letters. Exil...
<> Sally thought to herself
"Um... Sall'?" said Sonic.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I was preoccupied." said Sally
"What were you thinkin' of?" asked Sonic
"A conversation I had with Travis." said Sally
"You were right in giving general Mhortex the sentence you gave her."
said Sonic
"I don't know." said Sally "Travis is a good judge of character."
"If General Mhortek made it back to Mobius, she could restart Robotnik's
war machine all over again." said Sonic.
"I see your point." said Sally "Since I can't get any sleep, I have a
few things to do."
"Do you want me to stay here?" asked Sonic
"I need to do this alone." said Sally
"Okay, Sall'." said Sonic. Sonic left Sally's hut.
Sally's hut

Geoffery knocked on Sally's door
"Come in." said Sally. Geoffery opened the door and steped in.
"What do you need Geoffery?" asked Sally "I'm very busy right now."
"It's about Mhortek." said Geoffery
"I'm working on that now." said Sally
"What're ya' readin', luv?" asked Geoffery
"Trial procedures." said Sally. Sally closed the book she was reading,
picked it up, and placed it on the bookshelf. Sally picked up a large book,
and took it to her desk.
"Could you get me a cup of Doctor Quack's coffee, please?" asked Sally
"Sure, luv." answered Geoffery. Geoffery went to the infirmery.
Travis' hut
9:30am 8-17-99 E.D.E.
Travis awoke to the sound of his alarm clock.
"Detrao, Detrax, Where are you?" asked Travis
"Right here." said Detrao
"Here." said Detrax. Travis looked at the clock
"Aw man..." said Travis
"What is it?" asked Detrax.
"She's allready been hanged." answered Travis "Let's go,nothing left for
us here." Travis left the hut, holding his empty Jookie can. Knothole
village was empty, Travis looked around, but there was nobody there. Travis
walked to the grave site, and saw that there was a hole that had been filled
in recently. Travis knelt down by the unmarked grave, and spoke
"I'm sorry I couldn't save you..." said Travis. Travis walked to the
portal, holding his emmitter. Travis walked slowly, towards the portal
ring's location. Travis was silent the entire two hour trip.
Travis arrived at the ring site, and sat down. Travis heard the
rustling of leaves. Travis turned around.
"We couldn't let you leave without saying goodbye." said Sally, coming
out of the brush.
"There's someone who wants to see you, mate." said Geoffery
<> Travis thought to himself. Jackie came out
from behind a large tree.
"Jackie!?!" said Travis. Travis looked at Sally.
"I thought..." said Travis. "The grave..."
"We filled it in, so nobody would fall in." said Sonic
"I looked through my personal library, and decided to exile general
Mhortek to Earth, if that's okay with your world." said Sally. Travis
smiled and reached into his pocket.
"This is a map of my city." said Travis "It leads to my house. If you
need me, then use the map to find me." Travis pulled out an empty glass jar
and placed the map inside. Travis handed his emmitter to Rotor, and dug a
hole large enough for the glass jar.
"After Detrao, Detrax, Jackie, and I go through the portal, turn off the
emmitter and place it in the jar, then put the jar in the hole I dug, and
cover it with a rock."
"How will you get back here?" asked Sally
"I have all the plans to make another transmitter... And I keep a spare
inside a false book on my bookshelf."
"It would have saved us alot of time if you would have told us about
it!" said Detrax
"I guess it's time for goodbyes." said Travis
"Sonic, Sally. You have a good thing going, don't blow it."
"Tails, Amy. You're good kids. Enjoy your youth while you still have
it."
"Rotor, get outside more often."
"Dulcy, I thought I'd never get to see a real dragon, but I'm glad to
have met you."
"Fiona, I guess you got your wish. Make the best of it."
"Lightning... Tarlex, Keep an eye on Sally, and don't let anything bad
happen to her."
"Doctor Quack, lay offa' the coffee."
"Geoffery, lay offa' the gin. And thanks for talking to Sally."
"Where's Sonic's uncle?" asked Travis
"He couldn't make it, he had to dismantle Robotnik's swatbots and
combots. As well as run the deroboticizer" said Sonic
"Antoine. You've got a good sense of honor and duty, keep them. And
take care of Bunnie" said Travis "Where IS Bunnie?"
"She's not feeling well." said Sally. Tails began to cry.
"It's not like I'm not coming back." said Travis "I'll be back in a
month or two."
"Good luck." said Sally
"You too." said Travis "Rotor. The portal, please." Rotor opened the
portal.
"Before I forget..." said Lightning "Take these." Lightning handed
Travis two rings
"The diamond one will glow very bright in the dark, when you need it."
said Lightning "The pearl ring will allow you to continue using your magic,
even on your world."
"Thank's" said Travis. Travis, Jackie, Detrao and Detrax stepped into
the portal, and vanished."
"You think he'll be back, Duls?" asked Sonic
"Yhea." said Dulcy.
