Zell is (assumingly) Squall's partner and friend throughout the game. Raised in a wealthy family, he joined the Garden at age 13 to follow his grandfather's footsteps, as he was a former soldier. His mastery in martial arts makes him lethal and quick at battle. He is quite short tempered and lacks seriousness, but is overall an honest guy who isn't the "Mr. ArmyMan" type as many think.
