Ryuchi Kanawa is the name taken by the man known in his home reality, Marketplace, as 3327. He is the CEO of Kanawa Corp, which is the most powerful of the megacorporations of Marketplace. He has several clones to distract potential assassins from rival corporations. Every decision he makes is in the interest of earning profits for himself and Kanawa.
Nippon has an extremely low magic axiom, making it seem "eerie" to those who are accustomed to having at least a little ambient magic energy around them. The realm is blanketed by a light mist which results from the almost complete lack of magical energy.
Technology is the center of the profit-making machine that is Nippon Tech. They use their higher technology to produce products of all types which they can sell to all members of the Possibility Wars at great profit. Computers, weapons, communications, and medical advances are all sold to the highest bidder. They produce lower technology items for lower tech realities using modern mass production techniques, turning enormous profits. Daily life in Japan under the control of Nippon Tech has been changed by computers, which are now in 94% of Japanese homes. All personal details can be found on computers by an experienced hacker.
The cutthroat corporate mindset of the Nippon reality allows little room for spirituality, which is reflected in the low spiritual axiom. What little religion exists is in the form of small sects of Shinto preists and followers of Palan, who preach the evils of material possessions.
Nippon has a well organized system of bureaucracy which is extensive, supported by the high social axiom. The corporations have their own government within the Japanese government which is feudal in nature. Citizens who live within the corporate system are generally accepting of the government rule, but crime and gangs have begun to expand, pushing against the system.
In Nippon, one never knows who he can trust. Stealth attempts are easier, while Perception checks are harder. You are more likely to Charm or Persuade someone using lies than with the truth, due to the suspicious nature of people. Tricks are more likely to succeed. Bribe are expected in persuasion attempts. Disguises are useful. Any large organization will have spies and traitors within its ranks.
Law of ProfitThis reality favors the wealthy. Goods and services are less expensive for those with wealth.
Law of VengeanceThe "eye for an eye" system of seeking personal vengeance is encouraged in Nippon. Those who are personally wronged and take the time to plan their revenge are rewarded upon the success of their plan.
