Vinny is a do-gooder. He is doing good by ridding the world of the greatest menace to ever exist - the Insidious Dr. Mobius. Vinny thinks only of how his actions will thwart the plans of the evil Dr. Mobius. There are those who feel that this attitude is unwarranted and even crazy - those persons are clearly agents of the insane Pharaoh.
Vinny is very loyal. He has worked with numerous colleagues, including Gorncois, Alexandra, and Yillah. These colleagues are among the select few that Vinny knows are not allied with the corrupt High Lord Mobius. He would gladly go to the grave to save any one of these people, especially if it frustrates the plans of the depraved Terran ruler.
Vinny greatest fear is sharing the same fate as his brother, Kenny. Kenny was also a private eye, sharing an office with Vinny in a sparsely populated corner of Cairo. Kenny was working a job and accidentally picked up evidence of a plot of the baleful Dr. Mobius. Mobius sent out a bunch of his goons and captured Kenny before he could spill the beans. The cruel Overlord sent Vinny a photograph of Kenny hooked up to the Omegatron, dead (Oh My God, He killed Kenny!).
Vinny's ultimate goal, for those who couldn't guess, would be to see the treacherous invader ultimately defeated. Ideally, it will be at the hands of Vinny ("Hello, my name is Vinny Al'Ababnu. You killed my brother. Prepare to die.").
In short, Vinny sees himself as virtuous, loyal, and good. He has developed strong bonds with his colleagues. He has come to appreciate the cosm called Earth, and he is considering retiring here with them after he has finally defeated the demented tyrant of Terra.
How would another person view Vinny upon meeting him:Upon meeting Vinny for the first time, people from pre-reality war Earth would see a mixture of Eddie Valiant from Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Indiana Jones from Raiders of the Lost Ark. He has a perpetual five o'clock shadow, he is fairly large, and doesn't appear to be in the best of shape. Those who have seen him fight would agree - he's not in very good shape. He generally smells of scotch, but is rarely drunk. He also doesn't work for Toons. On the Indiana Jones side, he would sometimes prefer to fight with his fists than his guns. However, his guns are (sometimes) more effective. And things tend to blow up when Vinny is around.
At times, Vinny is of such a "good" inclination that he is entirely transparent. Physically, Vinny is an intimidating specimen, but in an interrogation-type situation, it's as if the person being interrogated innately knows that Vinny cannot and will not carry out his threats. Thus, he is virtually unable to intimidate another person. Vinny, however, does not seem to realize this shortcoming.
