Welcome to my poetry page. This stuff isn't mine, *s* if you wanna see crap I write go to my old page and read it there. This page has on it the few poems that I have once read and loved. Now I thought, hmmm why not share it with the world.
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am athons and winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight and ripened grain.
I am the gentle Autumn rain.
When you awake in morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft star shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.
Indian prayer ~ Anon
When I am dead
Cry for me a little
Think of me sometimes
But not too much.
Think of me now and again
As I was in life
At some moments it's pleasant to recall
But not for long.
Leave me in peace
And I shall leave you in peace
And while you live
Let your thoughts be with the living.
Remember ~ Christina Rossetti
Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go, yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you planned
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thought that I once had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.
Now touch the air softly ~ William Jay Smith
Now touch the air softly,
Step gently. One, two...
I'll love you till roses
Are robin's-egg blue;
I'll love you till gravel
Is eaten for bread,
And lemons are orange,
And lavender's red.
Now touch the air softly,
Swing gently the broom.
I'll love you till windows
Are all of a room;
And the table is laid,
And the table is bare,
And the ceiling reposes
On bottomless air.
I'll love you till Heaven
Rips the stars from his coat,
And the Moon rows away in
A glass-bottomed boat;
And Orion steps down
Like a diver below,
And Earth is ablaze,
And Ocean aglow.
So touch the air softly,
And swing the broom high.
We will dust the gray mountains,
And sweep the blue sky;
And I'll love you as long
As the furrow the plow,
As However is Ever
And Ever is Now.
So what is love? ~ Anon
So what is love? If thou wouldst know
The heart alone can tell :
Two minds with but a single though,
Two hearts that beat as one.
And where comes love? Like morning bright
Love comes without thy call.
And how dies love? A spirit bright,
Love never dies at all.
