The Lost Sister

THE LOST SISTER

Edgar Figaro stared at his sister with confusion and hatred in his eyes. Any other time he'd be smiling and embracing his long lost sibling. But he wouldn't now. Not after what she had done.

"So tell me again how it's not your fault that Celes and Locke are getting a divorce?? And that Terra won't come over any more because you beat her up??"

"It's not my fault!!" his sister snapped "Locke grabbed and kissed me, and Terra hit me first after she found out Celes's man liked me better. She's a bitch anyway."

"Thats enough insults young lady." Edgar boomed "Now start telling me the truth and you can go to your room sooner."

"I already told you!!." she whined "What I said before IS the truth. Now let me go to bed, it's late and I'm tired!!"

Edgar heaved a sigh and leaned back in his comfortable black leather chair. He stared relentlessly at the nineteen-year old girl seated before him. She looked nothing like him or Sabin, but did sort of resemble their mother.

With her long, silky dark brown hair, and mocha colored eyes, Patriot Figaro was quite pretty. Even for an immature teenager. Her hour glass figure, and petite muscles helped too. Not to mention her grand fighting skills.

Patriot leaned back in her own chair and propped her booted feet up on Edgar's desk. She mindlessly popped the watermelon flavored gum in her mouth.

"Have I answered enough questions yet??" She demanded shrilly

"No!!" Edgar snapped back "But you may go upstairs anyway because it's so late. There will be more to discuss in the morning. Good night."

Edgar was still sitting by the steps that lead to all the guest rooms, when Locke walked by. He looked horrible, his eyes were redder then rubies, and his back was all bent over. He looked deeply depressed. Losing Celes was hitting him hard. He didn't even say anything as he stumbled up the steps in his drunken state. Edgar shook his head.

"He's getting worse."he mumbled as Locke disappeared from view.

Upstairs in her room Patriot walked back and forth. Finally she gave up and flopped down on the bed.

"Damn this house." she mumbled "I hate it and everyone here!!" She rolled onto her side. "If only Sabin hadn't gone on that Martial Arts retreat. By the sounds of things he may of known what to do." She sighed and flipped onto her back. Then an idea hit her like a pile of bricks.

"I've got it!!" She shouted "I'll write Sabin the whole story and let him give me some advice!! He's gotta know what to do. He's my last hope."

With that thought in mind Patriot grabbed some paper and a pen and began to write. Dear Sabin, she started:

My story began when I first arrived at the steps of Figaro after alerting Edgar of my existence. He was so glad to be meeting me....

A FEW WEEKS AGO....

Patriot Michelle Figaro climbed out of the horse drawn carriage. Figaro Castle stood before her. It looked wonderful against the now setting sun. A few servants toiled around her. No one payed much attention to their new guest. Sighing she grabbed her few bags and headed towards the entrance.

As she was approaching the marble steps, a rake flew out of no where, right into Patriot's path. She tripped and her bags went flying. "I'm so sorry!!" a male voice cried "I didn't see you, and the rake slipped!! Are you alright??

Patriot looked up into the most handsome face she had ever seen. The hunks brown hair fell to his ears, and his eyes were a wonderful slate color. Unlike any other Patriot had seen before. He wore no shirt, and his hairless chest sparkled in the darkening light. She was totally speechless.

"Are you alright??" The man repeated gathering all her bags before reaching a hand out for her.

"Fine.." Patriot heard herself say, happily excepting the hand "I'm Patriot Figaro."

The mans eyes widened but his face broke into a handsome grin.

"The names Locke Cole." he introduced himself "Edgar's sister!! I never thought.. wow!!"

Patriot laughed uncomfortably, he was to good looking. Was she dreaming?? She knew she had found Edgar and Sabin for a reason!! Locke was it. "Celes!!" he called suddenly "Come meet Edgar's lost sister!! She's here!!"

The castle doors sprung open and a beautiful young woman, and a slightly older man walked out. The girl had long white-blonde hair, and sapphire blue eyes, while the boy had brown eyes, and yellowish sun-streaked hair.

"Patriot!!" the boy yelled "It's me Edgar!!" Patriot smiled happy to see her older brother for the first time in a long long time. She bowed proudly, before kissing his cheeks, and hugging him.

"Hi." she managed to say to the girl. The other woman smiled weakly.

"Patriot I'd like you to meet my wife Celes." Locke announced proudly

In an instant Patriot felt her dreams and hopes become crushed. She felt like a thousand daggers were being punched into her stomach.

"A pleasure to meet you Celes." she greeted looking away. She had felt something between her and Locke, and his bitchy wife could kiss her ass if she thought she could keep her and Locke apart.

"I'm sure we'll become great friends." Celes was saying

"Of course." Patriot responded grinning evilly

A couple of days later Patriot spotted Locke working in the gardens. His favorite place. But she was stuck inside with prissy and boring Celes, and now her best friend Terra too. It was almost to much to bare.

"What color do you think is big this year Celes??" Terra asked "Eggplant or celery??

"Pumpkin." Celes answered flipping through a magazine. "See?? It says it right here."

"Knowing fashion, it was probably you two mindless bubble brains that thought of naming clothes after food." Patriot thought rolling her eyes. "I have to get out of here, before my brain melts."

"Excuse me girls but I have to use the ladies room." Patriot said hopping to her feet "Be right back!!"

"Ok." one of the girls responded

Patriot laughed to herself as she fled eagerly down the hallway, not towards the bathroom, but the garden.

"Locke's mine." she whispered to herself ducking outside, avoiding the windows.

"Hi Locke." she purred as soon as she saw him. "How are you tonight??"

"Fine." he replied trimming a rose bush "How are you??"

"Couldn't be better." she said in her most seducing voice. Locke didn't even look up.

"That's good." he commented lamely

"Small talk isn't working!!" Patriot told herself. "Use some body language!!"

Jutting out a hip, Patriot tried to preform her sexiest pose. But her hand slipped and she ended up falling into the rose bush. Which was full of thorns.

"Ouch!!" she shouted tossing and turning in the bush. Thorns jabbed into her sides. Cut her arms, sliced open her legs.

"Hold still I'll get you out!!" Locke cried throwing aside his hedge clippers and reaching for her. A few seconds later Patriot came tumbling from the bush. Somersaulting into Locke's lap.

"Thank you." she rasped gasping for breath "I thought I'd die!! You saved my life!!"

Without thinking she grabbed Locke's face and planted a meaningful kiss on his lips. Locke gasped loudly.

"Sorry but you earned it. Try for more." Patriot giggled blushing a little. But not half as much as Locke.

"I uh um ur.." he stammered "Listen here Patriot.." Locke stopped talking for one reason.

The moonlight. True the moon was full and glorious that night. But it seemed to shine on only Patriot at that moment. Like a spotlight. Out of all the girls Locke had dated only Celes had been able to do that. With the moonlight that is. It was unbelievable!! And Patriot was so beautiful. Moonlight or not. Maybe it was the couple of beers he had had earlier that day. Or maybe it was simple pleasure. But either way Locke did what he did.

"The hell with Celes." he grunted grabbing Patriot's face and raising it to his.

"I win bitch." Patriot thought kissing him back. It was her victory day....

And so thats the way it was for at least two weeks. Almost every night Patriot would sneak out into the garden. Locke would always be waiting there for her. It was kept a secret from everyone. Until the night when Patriot heard about the dance Edgar was planning just for her.

"Locke and I can announce our new relationship there!!" Patriot happily thought "I can't wait to see the look on Celes's face when her own husband tells her he doesn't love her anymore!! It's just to perfect!!" She eagerly ran off to find Locke. It wasn't to hard he, was in the garden as usual.

"Locke great news!!" Patriot shouted running up to him "Edgar's holding a dance in my honor!!"

"Thats wonderful." Locke replied looking around to make sure no one was watching them, it was broad daylight. What could Patriot want??

"Well..I thought we could sort of tell everyone about us...." Patriot blurted out

Locke felt his heart stop. His blood practicality froze in his veins. He had been feeling a bit guilty for cheating on Celes in the first place. Now Patriot wanted to tell everyone?? He was hopping that he'd forget the whole thing once she went back to where ever she had come from. Now she wanted him to divorce Celes!!

"No!!" he cried out weakly "We can't I mean ur.." "What you mean," Patriot growled her face turning red "is that you've been using me all along. I'm just your little toy!!"

"No, I mean yes, I mean.." Locke protested "I just don't want anyone to know. That's all."

"That's ridiculous!!" Patriot screamed balling her hands into fists at her sides "Your nothing but a dirty good for nothing pervert!!"

"No Patriot listen.." Locke started

But Patriot was furious. She didn't even give Locke a chance to finish because she slapped him hard in the face. Then she shoved him into the same rose bush she had fallen in before. Tears streaming from her eyes Patriot ran into the castle. Straight to her room. She fell helplessly onto the bed before bursting into tears.

Outside in the garden, Locke managed to pry himself out of the rose bush. He looked up towards the window that was Patriot's room. Shaking his head he slowly picked up his hedge clippers and began to finish his job. He felt just awful.

Patriot continued to cry for almost an hour, when she realized something. She had the power to tell the whole castle about her and Locke's affair. And what better place to do it then the dance later this week?? It was to perfect!! She could devastate Locke and Celes!! Sure she'd look bad, but she'd be leaving soon anyway. Locke deserved some kind of punishment. Unless he gave in to her demands....

Several nights later, Patriot's dance was held at Figaro Castle. Locke and Celes were there. Locke wearing a great black and white tuxedo. Celes wearing the most beautiful sapphire blue dress. It matched her eyes perfectly. The couple looked so cute together, romantically slow dancing. Locke didn't look the least bit afraid. If he only knew.

Patriot, who had yet to make her entrance, waited patiently in the castle wings. Nobody even knew she was there. She watched Locke and Celes with the most devious look on her face. She had had her dress maker go all out. Her satin dress was emerald green, her shoulders were bare, it showed major cleavage, and the back was low cut. Her heels were five inches high at the least, and a diamond necklace dipped into her braless cleavage. Any unmarried man would of been easily seduced. But not the one she wanted.

Then just as Patriot planned, the song she had requested Edgar play at nine o'clock exactly came on. It was time. She simply breezed into the room. Locke's jaw almost hit the floor. Patriot nearly squealed with delight. Walking straight up to Celes she pushed the girl off of Locke's muscular shoulders.

"Can I cut in??" she asked sweetly

"Sure." Celes answered backing off and disappearing into the crowd.

"What do you want Patriot??" Locke demanded as they began to slow dance.

"You of course." Patriot giggled batting her eyelashes innocently

"Well I'm taken." Locke replied "I'm truly sorry for cheating on Celes. I've sworn never to do it again."

"We'll see about that." Patriot rasped looking over Locke's shoulder to make sure Celes was watching. She was. Smiling Patriot roughly grabbed Locke's face and kissed him. She sunk her nails into the sides of his head so he couldn't move. Patriot heard shocked gasps all around her. Out of the corner of her eye Patriot saw Celes and Terra approaching.

"Stop it!!" Terra screamed as near tears as Celes was.

"Why we've been doing it for awhile now." Patriot said smirking

"Bitch!!" Celes cried slapping Patriot in the face. She stumbled backwards. Terra advanced towards her at the same time. Celes went for Locke.

"You bastard!!" she shouted at him shaking his shoulders. "How could you?? I want a divorce!!" With that she ran out of the room.

"Celes wait!!" Locke yelled running after her.

Patriot laughed at the scene until Terra turned towards her.

"What are you laughing at??" she hollered "It's your fault." She then started to turn away.

"Excuse me??" Patriot growled "It's his fault not mine you bitch!!" Patriot then reared back and punched Terra smack in the nose. She gasped and swung back. Soon both girls were rolling across the floor, punching and kicking one another. They had just started to pull one anothers hair when Edgar pulled them apart.

"Stop it both of you!!" he shouted

"She started it!!" Patriot accused

"No it was her!!" Terra protested

"I don't care who started it." Edgar snapped holding both girls apart. "I've had enough trouble with Locke and Celes for one night. There getting a divorce. Terra go home. Patriot go to your room. I'll talk to you tomorrow."

"Pleasant nightmares bitch." Patriot shouted at Terra

"Same to you whore!!" Terra shot back

Another fight was about to erupt but Edgar stepped infront of Terra before it could happen. Once Patriot left, he turned to Terra. She had a spilt lip, and black eye from the fight. Not to mention all the bruises and sores.

"Terra I'm so sorry." Edgar apologized "This shouldn't of happened

"Damn right it shouldn't of!!" Terra cried "Its all your sisters fault!! I refuse to come back here until that bitch is long gone and not coming back!!" With that Terra stormed from the castle. Edgar lowered his head and groaned. He had actually planned to ask Terra to marry him that night. But Patriot, at least he thought it was her, had ruined his chances of a yes for now.

As for Patriot on her way upstairs she happened to come across Locke, drinking a stray bottle of wine. Smuggled from the party.

"I taught you a lesson you'll never forget!!" Patriot couldn't help but boast

"Yeah and coast me my marriage!!" he snorted taking a swing from his bottle, his eyes were already blood-shot.

"You should of thought of that before you kissed me all those times. And made me care about you. Not only have you lost Celes, but everything we could of had too. Think about that ok??" Patriot then breezed upstairs. Ready to sleep happily knowing what she had done....

TODAY....

Patriot leaned back and stared at what she had just written. She realized Edgar was right, it was her fault. It was all her fault. She couldn't send Sabin this letter. It made her look real bad.

"My God," she whispered "What have I done??"

Suddenly it hit her. Her revenge had been sweet at the time. But it now seemed stupid. Sure she would return home. But nothing would return to normal here. Locke and Celes's marriage was in ruins. Patriot couldn't let that happen.

After crumpling the letter she had just written. Patriot walked into the hallway. In search of Celes. She sound her folding towels in the laundry room.

"Can I talk to you for a minute Celes??" Patriot dared to ask

Celes looked up at her with incredibly red eyes. Her skin was very pale too. And her sapphire eyes had lost there special shine.

"Go ahead." she mumbled "Knock yourself out."

"Ok, I just wanted to tell you, that I kissed Locke." Patriot blurted out "I kissed him at the dance. He was unwilling. I made him do it. I held his head in place."

"Really." Celes said looking down "Is it the truth??"

"Yes." Patriot said after a moment of heisation "I did it all."

"Oh Patriot." Celes whispered "Thank you!! Your honesty just saved my marriage." With that Celes rushed upstairs to apologize to Locke. Their marriage was saved!! All thanks to Patriot's honesty.

After Celes had left Patriot made her way to Edgar's study. After knocking she went in and sat in the same chair she had been seated in a few hours before.

"Edgar I have something to confess to you." she said....

Patriot realized revenge can be sweet for a time. But sooner or later in comes back to haunt you.
