"HYEAH!!!" cried out Meliadoul as she tore through the beast with a sickening slash.
"We can't be distracted by these monsters!" spoke out Carmen to Meliadoul, "We've got to find Ramza first!"
Meliadoul readied her hands as she gathered energy into them, "HOLY!!!"
As she said this, explosions of white surfaced beneath her foes and destroyed them. She quickly looked for more enemies.
"STOP IT MELIADOUL!!!" pleaded Carmen to the Divine Knight. She saw the death Meliadoul had caused, shining off the sword of one woman was death itself.
"I SAID STOP IT!!!" Carmen called out again, "DO YOU ENJOY KILLING THAT MUCH?!!!"
It was no use. Meliadoul seemed to be in a trance of blood and mayhem. Her eyes glowed red as her Chaos Blade bit down into the behemoths she was slaying. Her face was smeared with the blood of the dead as she jumped to the next victim of her blades.
"STOP IT!!!!!!!!!" shouted Carmen as she stood before Meliadoul, with her Type 2 Javelin blocking the berserk Divine Knight, "I SAID DO YOU ENJOY KILLING THAT MUCH!!!?"
Meliadoul then realized herself, "I- I'm sorry."
She slumped down to her knees in front of Carmen. Meliadoul then looked to her hands, caked with blood.
"Why?" Meliadoul asked herself, "Why am I doing this?"
"Huh?" grunted Carmen in questioning.
"I- I was trained to kill ·quot; Meliadoul continued, "I was only taught to kill ·so why am I starting to regret things now? Is it conscience? Why had I not felt guilty before? Did I just shut it out? Carmen, help me, please."
"When we get to Ramza, we'll be alright." Carmen assured the broken down Meliadoul as she slung the knight's arm over
her shoulders, "We'll be alright.
Ramza and Alma sat at the docks of Warjilis Trade City. They had sat there for the past three hours trying to catch fish. Only Alma had caught any fish, Ramza only caught dirty old boots and garbage. Ramza threw his fishing rod into the harbor in frustration.
"You probably won't catch any fish with a temper like that, brother." Alma spoke to Ramza.
"This is so stupid!" Ramza objected to fishing, "The damn fish just don't bite!"
As he said this, Alma reeled up another fish, "It takes patience dear brother. That makes seven for me, nada for you."
Ramza felt as if he wanted to crawl back into a hole or something. Fishing really wasn't his thing, fighting was. To top his day off, there went three hours of his life he wouldn't get back so easily.
"RAMZA!!!" called out a voice behind the blonde haired hero, "WE NEED TO TALK!!!"
Ramza turned around to see Carmen and Meliadoul.
"What is it?" Ramza asked the two.
"We have a problem." Carmen responded before telling him what had recently occurred.
Ramza nodded as he heard the story, "Then we have to get to this priest of yours, before it's too late."
As Meliadoul sauntered away with Alma, Carmen then spoke with Ramza,
"I'm worried about Meliadoul."
"Why is that?" Ramza responded looking puzzled.
"She's been acting sort of strange lately." Carmen continued, "She seems to enjoy killing a little too much."
"I see." Ramza nodded, "And this poses what problem?"
"Well, she doesn't seem all there anymore." Carmen implied, "Maybe she should get help after this is all over."
"You're suggesting," started Ramza, "That I send one of my friends away to the loony bin? Is that what you're insinuating?"
"No no no no no!" Carmen replied, "She just may need HELP, that's all."
"Look Carmen," Ramza stated, "I've known Meliadoul for a while now, and I would think I'd know if she needed help or not by now."
"But ·quot; started Carmen before Ramza interrupted her.
"No buts."
Carmen then decided to let sleeping dogs lie and left before the conversation escalated to anything more. The two then joined up with Alma and Meliadoul as they started their trek to the Deep Dungeon.
