| The Eradicator was originally a device that the Kryptonians
created in order to preserve their history. As time passed, it gained too much power and,
wanting to keep it's race from leaving Krypton, bonded them all genetically to the planet.
When the planet was destroyed, it survived, held by a man known only as the Cleric. Years
later, Superman encountered the Cleric and was given the
Eradicator, re-activating it. It tried to dominate him but ended up failing. It then, for
a while, dominated Supergirl I. This plan also failed. It wasn't
until Superman died that the Eradicator manifested itself fully as a humanoid. It then
sought to replace Superman, not remembering it's true nature. When he did return, it
sacrificed itself to save him. The body, dying, was brought to a S.T.A.R. lab, where one
of the scientists tried a radical new idea and became bonded to the Eradicator. He ended
up joining the Outsiders and was last seen with them. |
