| John Stewart was the alternate Green Lantern chosen by Hal Jordan in case of a crisis when Hal was off of Earth. He
served admirably in the role for years, eventually becoming a full fledged member during
the Crisis. During this time, he met and fell in love with Katma
Tui, whom he later married. When she died, he took on a cocky attitude which was
humbled when his arrogance caused an entire world to die during the Cosmic Oddessy.
Fortune not being with him, he was merged with the mind of the Old Timer, a Guardian, for
a while and put in charge of the Mosaic world that the Guardian had created. When the
peoples of the world were finally returned to where they belonged, he left the Green
Lantern Corps behind him and started up his own peacekeeping group to fill the void; the
Darkstars. After a brutal attack by Grayven, son of Darkseid, the Darkstars were
disbanded and Stewart was emotionally crippled. He returned to Earth and took up
being an architect. |
