Mike Magnus was a brilliant young scientist who was working on a robotics experiment with his brother, Will Magnus. In a freak experiment, his body was killed and his mind was stored inside the robot's. His brother labored long years to find a way of releasing his mind back into his normal body (kept in suspended animation), but saw all his labors fail, leaving Gold (As his brother was now known) as a machine without a memory of his human past. Years later, the bodies were destroyed in an attack on the estate and the Metal Men had their memories returned. Mike Magnus died shortly thereafter. |
